Ferroli HE Programmer Instructions
Programmer Overview
The Ferroli HE Programmer features a control interface with several buttons and a display. The buttons are:
- A: Clock adjustment button
- B: Operating mode button
- C: Override button
- D: Minus button [-]
- E: Programming button [P]
- F: Plus button [F]
The display shows the current time, day, and operating status. A diagram shows the layout of buttons A, B, C, M, X, ON, DAY SET, +, D, E, F, P.
Setting the Time and Day
Follow these steps to set the current time and day:
- Press the [P] button.
- The Day and clock symbol will flash. Use the [+] and [-] buttons to set the Day (1 = Monday, 7 = Sunday).
- Press the [P] button.
- The hour and clock symbol will flash. Use the [+] and [-] buttons to set the correct hour (this is a 24-hour clock).
- Press the [P] button.
- The minutes and the clock symbol will flash. Use the [+] and [-] buttons to set the correct minutes.
- Press the [P] button. The time and day are now set.
Pre-Set Programmes
The programmer comes with pre-programmed settings for Central Heating and Domestic Hot Water.
Central Heating
The timer is pre-programmed with 3 'on' and 3 'off' times, set the same for each day. Note: The second 'on/off' time will not allow the boiler to fire.
- On: 6:30 - 8:30
- On: 12:00 - 12:00 (This period will not fire the boiler)
- On: 16:30 - 22:30
Domestic Hot Water (ECO/Comfort)
The timer has a function to pre-heat the domestic hot water, keeping it at a set temperature. It is pre-programmed with 1 'on' and 'off' time, set the same for each day.
- On: 6:30 - 22:30
If these pre-set times are suitable, no further programming is required for Central Heating and Domestic Hot Water comfort.
Operating Mode
Press the [M] button to select the operating mode. The display will show the current mode:
- Heating continuous: Display shows time and "ON"
- Heating timed: Display shows time and "DAY"
- Heating off: Display shows time and "OFF"
When in "Heating timed" mode, the programmer follows the set ON and OFF times.
Setting Programmes
You can customize up to 4 'on' and 4 'off' times for each day or group of days.
- Enter the programme mode by pressing the [P] button.
- Use the [+] and [-] buttons to select the day or group of days you wish to programme. The display will cycle through options like:
- 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 (Individual days Monday to Sunday)
- 1-5 (Weekdays)
- 6-7 (Weekend)
- 1-6 (Monday to Saturday)
- 1-7 (Monday to Sunday)
- Once the desired day or group is selected, press the [P] button.
- The display will show the first 'ON' time. Use the [+] and [-] buttons to set the desired 'on' time.
- Press the [P] button.
- The display will show the first 'OFF' time. Use the [+] and [-] buttons to set the desired 'off' time.
- Repeat steps 4-6 to set up to 4 'on' and 4 'off' times. If you do not wish to use all 4 sets, ensure the unused 'on' and 'off' times are set to the same value to disable them.
- Programming for groups of days will override individual day settings.
- To exit programming at any point, press and hold the [P] button for 3 seconds.
Programming Sequence Example (using + and - buttons and P to confirm):
- Select day(s) [e.g., Day 1]
- Press [P]
- Set first ON time [e.g., 8:30]
- Press [P]
- Set first OFF time [e.g., 13:30]
- Press [P]
- Set second ON time [e.g., 10:30]
- Press [P]
- Set second OFF time [e.g., 12:00]
- Press [P]
- Set third ON time [e.g., 14:30]
- Press [P]
- Set third OFF time [e.g., 16:00]
- Press [P]
- Set fourth ON time [e.g., 22:00]
- Press [P]
- Set fourth OFF time [e.g., 12:00]
- Press [P]
- If no further times are required, set ON/OFF times the same [e.g., 12:00]
- Press [P] to confirm.
Override
Pressing the [override button C] will override the current central heating schedule. If central heating is off, it will turn on. If it is on, it will turn off. The programmer will remain in this override mode until the next scheduled time setting is reached.
