Usage Instructions
- Verify proper voltage selection on the IEC style power connector for your location. Connect the AC cord to a grounded AC outlet.
- Connect microphones or balanced line inputs to the XLR sockets.
- For mic channels requiring phantom power (for condenser mics), press the DIP switch down to activate phantom power to the appropriate XLR jack.
- Set the MIC/LINE buttons as required for each type of input signal.
- Connect stereo signal sources (e.g., tape deck, CD player) to the SOURCE INPUTS using RCA-tipped unbalanced cables.
- To patch-in external effects: connect the EFX LOOP SEND jack to the input of the effects unit using a shielded TS (unbalanced) cable, and connect the unit's stereo outputs to the LEFT and RIGHT EFX LOOP RETURN jacks using shielded TS (unbalanced) cables. Set the EFX LOOP IN/OUT button to the IN position and adjust the EFX LEVEL control for the desired effects intensity.
- The L and R EFX LOOP RETURN jacks may alternately be used as a stereo line input with their own level control and in/out button.
- Connect either the 1/4 inch LEFT and RIGHT OUT jacks or the RCA REC OUT jacks to the input of your mixer, tape deck, or computer using appropriate unbalanced, shielded cables.
- Switch on the power. Set the MASTER LEVEL to the 12 o'clock position. Adjust individual channel LEVEL controls for the best mix and level, monitoring the MICROPHONE channel CLIP LEDs. Reduce the level of any channel with CLIP activity until it stops.
- Adjust BASS and TREBLE controls for the desired tonal balance; the center setting is neutral.
- Re-adjust the MASTER LEVEL as required for the best overall signal level.
