Weiser Electronic Deadbolts Programming Guide
This guide provides simplified programming instructions for various Weiser electronic deadbolts.
Troubleshooting Steps
In case of problems, always follow these steps:
- Factory reset
- Latch orientation
- User code programming
- Ask the customer for their guide and pencil
Note: During an initial installation, skip step 1.
Powerbolt 2 (GED1300)
Important Notes:
- Always keep the door open during operation.
- Identify the Powerbolt's location on the door:
- From the outside, the Powerbolt is on the right.
- From the outside, the Powerbolt is on the left.
1. Factory Reset
A- Press and hold the PROG button for approximately 30 seconds. You will hear a long beep. Release the button.
B- Press PROG again and release. You will hear 3 long beeps.
2. Latch Orientation (Right Side)
A- Facing the door, on the exterior side, your Powerbolt is on the right.
B- Press PROG. You will hear 2 beeps.
C- Press the lock symbol [lock].
D- Press 56.
E- Press PROG.
2. Latch Orientation (Left Side)
A- Facing the door, on the exterior side, your Powerbolt is on the left.
B- Press PROG. You will hear 2 beeps.
C- Press the lock symbol [lock].
D- Press 12.
E- Press PROG.
3. Program User Code (4 digits)
A- Write your user code in your instruction manual (4 to 8 digits).
B- Press the PROG button. You will hear 2 beeps.
C- Press 12.
D- Press PROG.
D- Enter your user code.
E- Press PROG.
F- Test the code:
- Keep the door open.
- Press the lock symbol [lock] to extend the latch.
- Enter your user code to retract the latch.
Powerbolt 2 (GED1460)
Important Notes:
- Always keep the door open and insert the key into the lock.
- For this model, successful operations are accompanied by 2 beeps and the keypad lights up green.
- An amber light appears when the device is waiting between programming steps.
1. Factory Reset
Set the latch to the locked position.
- With your pencil, press and hold the reset button.
- Remove the pencil upon hearing a beep. Wait approximately 10 seconds.
The master code will be 0-0-0-0 (factory code).
The user code will be 1-2-3-4 (factory code).
2. Program Latch Orientation
Set the latch to the unlocked position.
A- Enter code 0-0-0-0.
B- Press the lock symbol [lock].
C- Press 0.
D- Press the lock symbol [lock].
E- There will be 2 beeps for success, 3 red beeps for failure.
3. Change Master Code
This is your code to program user codes.
A- Write your new master code in the instruction manual.
B- Enter code 0-0-0-0.
C- Press the lock symbol [lock].
D- Enter 7.
E- Press the lock symbol [lock].
F- Enter your new code (4 to 10 digits).
G- Press the lock symbol [lock].
4. Create a User Code (up to 6)
A- Write your new user code in the instruction manual.
B- Enter your new master code.
C- Press the lock symbol [lock].
D- Enter 1.
E- Press the lock symbol [lock].
F- Enter your new code (4 to 10 digits).
G- Press the lock symbol [lock].
5. Delete Factory User Code
Very important
A- Enter your new master code.
B- Press the lock symbol [lock].
C- Enter 3.
D- Press the lock symbol [lock].
E- Enter 1-2-3-4.
F- Press the lock symbol [lock].
SmartCode 5 (GED1490)
Important Note:
Always keep the door open during operation and insert the key into the lock.
1. Factory Reset
A- Remove the battery pack.
B- Reinsert the battery pack while pressing the program button until a beep is heard. The LED will flash red, for approximately 30-40 seconds.
C- Release the button at the moment of the beep.
D- Press the program button again and release.
E- Wait approximately 10-20 seconds, 1 beep and green light.
2. Program Latch Orientation
A- Remove the battery pack.
B- Reinsert the battery pack while pressing the lock symbol [lock].
C- Release the button when the latch starts to move. You will hear a beep and see a green LED.
D- At this stage, the door cannot yet be locked using the lock symbol [lock].
3. Program User Code (8)
A- Write your user code in your instruction manual.
* The first 4 digits of each combination must be different.
B- Press the program button. You will hear 2 beeps.
C- Press 1. You will hear a short beep and the keypad will flash green.
D- Press the WEISER button.
E- Enter your user code.
F- Press the WEISER button.
G- You will hear a long beep and the keypad will flash green in case of success, red in case of failure.
4. Program a 2nd User Code
A- Write your user code in your instruction manual.
B- Press the program button twice.
C- Enter your code (4 to 8 digits).
D- Press the lock symbol [lock].
E- Test the code:
- Keep the door open.
- Press the lock symbol [lock] to extend the latch.
- Enter your user code to retract the latch.
SmartCode 10 (GED2600, GED2700, GED1700)
Important Note 1:
Always keep the door open during operation and insert the key into the lock.
1. Factory Reset
A- Press the programming button for approximately 30 seconds using your Smart tool or a paperclip.
B- Release the button upon hearing a long beep.
C- Test a code; all codes are erased if the operation is successful.
Important Note 2:
This model does not require latch orientation.
2. Program User Code 30
A- Write your user code in your instruction manual, 4 to 8 digits.
* The first 4 digits of each combination must be different.
B- Press the program button. You will hear 2 beeps.
C- Press 1. You will hear a short beep and the keypad will flash green.
D- Press the WEISER button.
E- Enter your user code.
F- Press the WEISER button.
G- You will hear a long beep and the keypad will flash green in case of success, red in case of failure.
SmartCode 10 (GED1700)
Important Note:
Always keep the door open during operation and insert the key into the lock.
1. Factory Reset
A- Remove the battery pack.
B- Reinsert the battery pack while pressing the program button until a beep is heard. The LED will flash red, for approximately 30-40 seconds.
C- Release the button at the moment of the beep.
D- Press the program button again and release.
E- The LED will turn green if the operation was successful. Wait approximately 15 seconds.
2. Program Latch Orientation
A- Remove the battery pack.
B- Reinsert the battery pack while pressing the lock symbol [lock]. Release when the motor engages. You will hear a beep and see a green LED.
C- At this stage, the door cannot yet be locked using the lock symbol [lock].
3. Program User Code
A- Write your user code in the instruction manual.
B- Press the programming button.
C- Enter your user code.
D- Press the lock symbol [lock].
E- Test the code:
- Keep the door open.
- Press the lock symbol [lock] to extend the latch.
- Enter your user code to retract the latch.
SmartCode 10 (GED2100)

- Secure Screen System
- To activate the keypad, touch the screen with the back of your hand. Press the 2 digits that will light up.

C- Press the program button again and release.
D- The LED flashes from green to red multiple times.
E- After a few seconds, the latch orientation process will activate.
2. Program User Code (16)
A- Write your user code in your instruction manual.
B- Press the program button.
C- Press the hook symbol [hook].
D- Enter your new user code.
E- Press the lock symbol [lock].
F- The operation is successful if the hook symbol [hook] lights up with a beep.
H- Test your code:
- Keep the door open.
- Press the lock symbol [lock] to extend the latch.
- Enter your user code to retract the latch.
Obsidian (GED2300)
Important Notes:

- Secure Screen System
- To activate the keypad, touch the screen with the back of your hand. Press the 2 digits that will light up.
1. Factory Reset

B- Reinsert the battery pack while pressing the program button until a beep is heard. The LED will flash red, for approximately 30-40 seconds.
C- Press the program button again and release.
D- The LED flashes from green to red multiple times.

A- Write your user code in your instruction manual.
B- Press the program button.
C- Press the hook symbol [hook].
D- Enter your new user code.
E- Press the lock symbol [lock].
F- The operation is successful if the hook symbol [hook] lights up with a beep.
G- Test your code:
- Keep the door open.
- Press the lock symbol [lock] to extend the latch.
- Enter your user code to retract the latch.
Premis (GED2200)
Important Notes:
- Always keep the door open during operation and insert the key into the lock.
- To activate the keypad, touch the screen with the back of your hand. Press the 2 digits that will light up.
1. Factory Reset
A- Remove the battery pack.
B- Reinsert the battery pack while pressing the program button until a beep is heard. The LED will flash red.
C- Press the program button again and release.
D- The LED will flash green multiple times.
E- After a few seconds, the latch orientation process will activate.
2. Program a User Code
- Download the Weiser Premis application from the Apple App Store.
- Select My Home or create your own home. (Enter your name)
- Enter the room where your Premis is located.
- Select the detected lock, indicate yes if it beeps.
- Scan the 8-digit code on the back of the lock and give it a name.
- Enter your user code to unlock the lock on your phone.
Kevo Contemporain (GED1500)
Important Note:
Always keep the door open during operation and insert the key into the lock.
1. Factory Reset
A- Press button A for 10 seconds. You will hear a beep and the indicator lights will turn red.
2. Latch Orientation
A- Remove the battery pack.
B- Reinsert the battery pack while pressing the programming button. Once the batteries are in place, remove your finger.
C- Press the programming button again when the indicator light flashes red and green.
3. Download the Kevo Application
A- On the Apple App Store, download the Kevo application.
B- Press Get started. (Create your account)
C- Allow Bluetooth usage and notification display.
D- Press + to program your lock.
E- Press 'Pair a device'.
F- Press 'Pair a Device', select the correct brand (Weiser, Kwikset, or Baldwin), select Contemporain.
G- Remove the back cover.
H- Press the programming button then lightly touch the lock with your phone.
4. Calibration of your Kevo
A- Press "continue".
B- Go outside with your key and your phone.
C- Put the phone in your pocket, handbag, or backpack.
D- Stand within arm's length of the door and touch your Kevo with your hand. It will calibrate the distance between the door and the phone.
E- Touch to open and close 10 times or until your phone vibrates and sends you a notification.
Aura (GED18500)
Important Notes:
- Always keep the door open during operation and insert the key into the lock.
- Secure Screen System
- To activate the keypad, touch the screen with the back of your hand. Press the 2 digits that will light up.
1. Factory Reset
A- Remove the battery pack.
B- Reinsert the battery pack while pressing the program button until a beep is heard. The LED will flash red.
C- Press the program button again and release.
D- The LED will flash green multiple times.
E- After a few seconds, the latch orientation process will activate.
2. Pair your phone to your lock
- Download the Weiser application from the Apple App Store.
- Create your Weiser account.
- Top right corner, press + then press NEXT.
- Press button A for 3 seconds, release upon beep and press next.
- Your lock's identifier will appear, press the name.
- Upon beep, press YES. Your phone will ask you to accept pairing.
3. Create your user code
- Name your lock.
- Name the user.
- Enter your 4-8 digit code.
- Set the schedule for this code.
- Press SUBMIT.
4. Transfer a user code by email
- After creating a user code, press the keypad icon (bottom left corner).
- Press the code you wish to share.
- Press Share Access Code and follow your messaging app instructions.
Halo (GED25000)
Important Notes:
- Always keep the door open during operation and insert the key into the lock.
1. Factory Reset
A- Remove the battery pack.
B- Reinsert the battery pack while pressing the program button until a beep is heard. The LED will flash red.
C- Press the program button again and release.
D- The LED will flash green multiple times.
E- After a few seconds, the latch orientation process will activate.
2. Pair your phone to your lock
- Download the Weiser application from the Apple App Store.
- Create your Weiser account.
- Top right corner, press + then press NEXT.
- Press button A for 3 seconds, release upon beep and press next.
- Your lock's identifier will appear, press the name.
- Upon beep, press YES. Your phone will ask you to accept pairing.
3. Pair your lock to your home router
A- Proceed to update the application.
B- Enter your access protection code for your router.
4. Create your user code
- Name your lock.
- Name the user.
- Enter your 4-8 digit code.
- Set the schedule for this code.
- Press SUBMIT.
5. Transfer a user code by email
- After creating a user code, press the keypad icon (bottom left corner).
- Press the code you wish to share.
- Press Share Access Code and follow your messaging app instructions.
