Safety Instructions
All repairs must be carried out by qualified experts. Ensure the power supply is disconnected before opening the housing. Use only identical fuses. Modifications or failure to use original Truma parts will void the warranty. Keep air outlets and intakes unobstructed. Protect openings from dirt and spray. Avoid driving on slopes exceeding 8% when the unit is operating. Use only pure sine wave power sources. Keep the device closed during operation.
Notes on Using Air Conditioning Systems
The Saphir comfort RC AU is designed for minimal power consumption. Park in the shade and use shutters to reduce heat radiation. Ventilate the vehicle before use. Ensure adequate openings for air dissipation. Maintain a moderate temperature difference between inside and outside. Keep doors and windows closed in cooling mode. For maximum ventilation, connect three cold air ducts. Avoid using the air outlet channel (part no. 40040-32500). In heating mode, use "high" fan for rapid heating and "medium" or "low" for continuous operation.
Operating Instructions
Remote Control
The system consists of the main Saphir comfort RC AU unit, supply air intake, supply air outlet, circulated air intake, and air outlets. The infrared remote control and IR receiver are also shown.
The remote control features an LCD display showing operating status. Key buttons include: MODE for selecting Cooling, Heating, Automatic, or Circulated air modes; FAN LEVEL for adjusting fan speed; SLEEP FUNCTION for quiet operation; TIMER ON/OFF for scheduling; TEMPERATURE SELECTION (+/-) for setting the desired room temperature; TIME SETTING for clock and timer; ON/OFF SWITCH to turn the unit on or off; RESET to restore factory settings; RESEND to retransmit data; and SETUP for tuning the remote.
IR Receiver
The IR receiver has three LEDs: LED 1 (blue) indicates cooling mode (illuminated or flashing for compressor start-up), LED 2 (yellow) indicates heating mode (illuminated or flashing for compressor start-up), and LED 3 (red) indicates data transfer (flashing) or a fault (illuminated). A manual pushbutton allows on/off operation without the remote.
Start-up and Operation
Ensure adequate campsite power supply (min. 6A). Before first use, tune the remote control to the IR receiver by inserting batteries, ensuring the setup symbol flashes, pointing the remote at the receiver, and pressing the Setup button until the red LED flashes.
Switching On/Off: Use the On/Off switch on the remote control. The unit remembers previous settings.
Temperature: Set desired temperature using '+' and '-' buttons.
Mode: Select operating mode (Cooling, Heating, Automatic, Circulated air) using the MODE button.
Fan: Adjust fan speed (low, medium, high) using the Fan level button (not active in Automatic mode).
Sleep Function: Provides ultra-quiet fan operation in cooling mode.
Time: Set the current time using the Time selection and Time setting buttons.
Timer ON/OFF
Set desired on/off times in 15-minute increments up to 24 hours in advance. The device must be switched on to program the timer.
Reset
Resets the remote control to factory settings.
Resend
Resends previous settings.
Setup
Tunes the remote control to the air conditioning system.
Maintenance
The unit has a fluff filter (n) and a particle filter (p) located at the front for cleaning room air. Clean the fluff filter regularly (at least twice a year) and replace the particle filter annually. Ensure filters are correctly installed.
Troubleshooting
Refer to the table for common faults like "Device not cooling" or "Remote control not working" and their remedies. Contact Service Australia if issues persist.
IR Remote Control Battery Change
Use only leak-proof micro-batteries (LR 3, AM4, AAA). Ensure correct polarity when inserting batteries. Remove batteries if the remote is not used for an extended period.
Disposal
Dispose of defective remote controls and the device according to local administrative regulations and national laws.
Accessories
Optional accessories include a Sound Muffler for noise reduction in the cold air duct and a Flexible Air Conditioning Intake for installations in sealed-off spaces.

Scope of Delivery
Includes Saphir comfort RC AU unit, remote control, IR receiver, fastening brackets, condensation traps, floor grilles, installation template, and operating instructions.
Intended Use
Designed for installation in motor homes and caravans for private use.
Regulations
Warranty void if modifications are made, non-original parts are used, or installation/operating instructions are not followed.
Selecting a Location
Install in an easily accessible location. Ensure sufficient clearance (20mm sides, 30mm rear, 200mm front) for operation and maintenance. Floor openings must be clear and protected from wheel spray.
Installing the Air Conditioning System
Use the installation template to mark and cut floor openings for air intake (LE), air outlet (LA), and condensation drains (KO). Seal opening edges. Secure the unit using provided brackets and a clamping strap. Attach floor grilles.
Cold Air Distribution and Circulated Air Return
Air Distribution: Connect cold air ducts (max. 15m total length) to the three cold air outlets. Route ducts as short and straight as possible. Avoid routing near outside air inlets.
Circulated Air Return: Ensure adequate ventilation from the vehicle interior to the installation area via grilles or openings (min. 300 cm² total area).
Installing the IR Receiver
Mount the IR receiver in a location accessible by the remote control. Drill a Ø 55 mm hole for the cable. Secure the receiver and route the cable to the unit. Ensure cables are long enough and secured.
230 V Electrical Connection
This must be performed by an expert, adhering to relevant electrical standards (e.g., VDE 0100). Connect to a 10 A fused line.
Function Test / IR Remote Control Mounting
Test all functions after installation. Mount the IR remote control holder near the receiver for convenient operation. Hand over operating instructions to the vehicle owner.
