Zyxel WAC6303D-S Quick Start Guide
Product Overview
The Zyxel WAC6303D-S is an 802.11ac Wave2 Dual-Radio Unified Pro Access Point.
This guide provides instructions for hardware installation and management options, including cloud-based management via Zyxel Nebula Control Center (NCC) and standalone management.
Hardware Installation
Mounting Options:
- Wall Mounting: Secure the bracket to the wall outlet box with two screws. Connect an 8-pin Ethernet cable from a PoE switch to the WAC6303D-S's UPLINK port. Align the mounting holes on the WAC6303D-S's rear panel with the bracket's hooks. Push the WAC6303D-S until it clicks. Secure with a screw.
- Ceiling Mounting: Drill two holes for the screw anchors, spaced 62.4 mm or 70.1 mm apart. Insert the screw anchors into the ceiling. Install the two mounting screws through the bracket's holes into the anchors to secure the bracket. After the bracket is mounted, slide the WAC6303D-S onto the bracket until it clicks into place.
Releasing the AP: Insert a thin flat tool (like a flat screwdriver) to push down the AP lock. Turn the AP counterclockwise to release.

- Sign in or sign up for a myZyxel account.
- Create an organization and a site (network) in the NCC.

- Create an organization and site or select an existing site.
- Scan the WAC6303D-S's QR code (found on the device label or web configurator) to add it to the site. The device will automatically enter cloud management mode and restart after registration.
Option B: Standalone Management
You can manage the WAC6303D-S directly via its web configurator.
- 1-a WiFi Connection:
- From a WiFi-enabled computer, search for the WAC6303D-S's default WiFi network name (Zyxel-xxxx, where xxxx is the last four characters of the MAC address) and connect to it.
- Open your web browser and enter "http://1.1.1.1" for initial configuration.
- Enter the default user name (admin) and password (1234), then click Login.
- Note: If the WAC6303D-S cannot connect to the Internet, use its DHCP-assigned IP address to access its web configurator. Check the connected router or DHCP server for the IP address.
- 1-b Wired Connection:
- Use an Ethernet cable to connect your computer to the UPLINK port of the WAC6303D-S through a PoE injector or PoE switch.
- Use its DHCP-assigned IP or default static IP address "http://192.168.1.2" to access the web configurator. Ensure your computer's IP address is in the same subnet as the WAC6303D-S's.
Wizard Setup: The setup wizard appears automatically. Follow the on-screen instructions to configure your WAC6303D-S. The power LED will blink red and green, then turn solid green when ready. Note the WAC6303D-S's IP address from the Dashboard screen for future access.
Note on IP Addresses: The "http://1.1.1.1" address is for initial setup only. After configuration, use the device's assigned IP address or "http://192.168.1.2" for wired connections.
Changing WiFi Settings: If you change the WiFi network name (SSID) and password (PSK) in the wizard, use the new settings to reconnect to the WAC6303D-S's WiFi network for Internet access.
