Precautions:
- Avoid contact with skin/eyes.
- Always wear impermeable gloves and eye protection when using the product.
- Store in a cool, dry area. ❄️? Keep from freezing. ?? Do not store in direct sunlight. ☀️?
First Aid:
- Eyes: Immediately flush with water for 15 minutes, contact a physician. ?⚕️
- Skin: Wash with soap and water. Launder contaminated clothing before reuse. If irritation occurs, contact a physician. ??⚕️
- Ingestion: Do not induce vomiting unless directed by a physician. Contact a physician immediately. ⚕️
- Inhalation: Move to fresh air, give oxygen if breathing is difficult. Contact a physician if symptoms persist. ?️?⚕️
Installation Instructions
Follow the illustrations and tables provided for detailed installation procedures.
Preparation
- Drill Hole: Drill the hole to the required depth (h₀) using a hammer-drill with a carbide drill bit. For other drill types, consult a Hilti representative. ?️
- Clean Hole: The borehole must be free of dust and debris. Two methods are described:
- Method 1 (Dry/Water Saturated Concrete): Use oil-free compressed air (min. 90 psi at 3.5 CFM) to blow out dust. Brush the hole twice with the specified Hilti HIT-RB brush size, ensuring resistance during insertion. Blow out dust again. Extensions may be needed for deep holes. ??️
- Method 2 (Standing Water): Flush the hole twice with water until it runs clear. Brush twice with the specified Hilti HIT-RB brush. Flush again until clear. Remove all standing water using vacuum or compressed air. A Hilti HIT-DL air nozzle is recommended for depths > 10 inches (250 mm). Continue cleaning as per Method 1. ??️?
- Prepare Foil Pack: Insert the foil pack into the foil pack holder. Ensure no damage to the pack or holder. Attach a new mixer (Hilti HIT-RE-M) securely to the foil pack manifold. ?⚙️
- Dispense Initial Adhesive: Discard the first portion of adhesive (approx. 45 ml / 1.5 fl. oz.) to ensure proper mixing. ?
Adhesive Injection
- Inject Adhesive: Inject the adhesive from the back of the borehole, filling approximately 2/3 of the hole, ensuring no air voids. Use the appropriate injection method (standard or piston plug for deep holes). ?
- Insert Anchor/Rebar: Insert the anchor or rebar into the borehole, marking and setting it to the required embedment depth. Twist gently during insertion if needed. Ensure the annular gap is completely filled with adhesive. For overhead applications, take care to prevent excess adhesive from falling. Secure the anchor/rebar to prevent movement during curing. ?
Curing and Loading
- Observe Curing Times: Respect the gel time (t_gel) and curing time (t_cure) as indicated in the tables, which vary with temperature. Minor adjustments are possible during t_gel. Do not disturb the anchor until t_cure has elapsed. ?️⏰
- Apply Load: Apply the designed load or torque only after t_cure has passed and the fixture is positioned. ?
Foil Pack Usage
Partly-used foil packs must be used within one week. Leave the mixer attached and store properly. For reuse, attach a new mixer and discard the initial quantity of adhesive.
