Appearance and ports of the monitor

This section describes the physical appearance and ports of the monitor.

Front View Description:

The front of the monitor shows the display screen. Below the screen is a bar labeled '1 HUAWEI Smart Bar'. The stand base is labeled '3'. A sensor area on the base is labeled '4*'.

Back View Description:

The back of the monitor and stand show various ports:

Powering on and off the monitor

ℹ️ For HSN-CBA monitors with power saving mode enabled, the monitor enters deep sleep mode and disables Wi-Fi/Bluetooth when powered on with no signal. To enable power saving mode, tap the HUAWEI Smart Bar, open the OSD menu, and navigate to the relevant setting (indicated by icons ⚙️ > [settings icon]).

Adjusting the angle and height of the monitor

Hold the monitor panel with both hands. Rotate the panel to adjust the angle and move it up/down to adjust height. The monitor can tilt downward up to 5° (±2°) and upward up to 18° (±2°). Height can be adjusted by 110 mm (±5 mm).

⚠️ To avoid damaging the screen, do not press the screen with excessive force when adjusting the angle, height, or moving the monitor.

Wireless projection (only supported by HSN-CBA monitors)

Project your phone or computer screen to the monitor wirelessly for a cross-screen experience.

Projecting a phone's screen

Steps:

  1. On your phone, turn on NFC, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth in the notification panel.
  2. When the monitor is powered on and the phone screen is unlocked, tap your phone's NFC detection area against the indicated area on the monitor base (near the HUAWEI logo) until the phone rings or vibrates. Then move the phone away and follow onscreen instructions.
  3. The phone's screen will be projected to the monitor and synced with phone operations.

ℹ️ This feature requires specific Huawei phones supporting NFC or wireless projection. Ensure your phone's software is updated for the best experience. If one-touch projection fails, manually enable wireless projection features on your phone, search for nearby devices, select your monitor, and follow instructions. A pairing code may be required on first connection. If the monitor is already displaying another device's screen via cable, use the HUAWEI Smart Bar (two-finger swipe) to switch input source to the monitor's own desktop before projecting your phone.

Projecting a computer's screen

Steps:

  1. Power on both the monitor and computer.
  2. On the computer desktop, click the projection icon (represented by a screen icon) to open the projection page and connect to the wireless monitor. If the icon is not visible, expand the shortcut area to find it.
  3. On your computer, search for nearby devices, select your wireless monitor, and follow onscreen instructions.
  4. The computer's screen will be projected to the monitor and synced with computer operations.

ℹ️ This feature is available with Windows computers supporting wireless projection. If the monitor is connected to another device via cable, use the HUAWEI Smart Bar (two-finger swipe) to switch input source to the monitor's own desktop before projecting your computer's screen.

Connecting the monitor to a wireless network (only supported by HSN-CBA monitors)

  1. Switch the monitor to no signal input to display its system desktop. If in wireless projection mode, disconnect or double-tap the HUAWEI Smart Bar to exit. If connected via cable, use the HUAWEI Smart Bar (two-finger swipe) to switch input source to exit wired connection.
  2. Tap the HUAWEI Smart Bar, navigate to the network settings (indicated by icons ⚙️ > [network icon]), and follow onscreen instructions to connect.

ℹ️ If no mouse is connected, the Wi-Fi Network screen prompts for the AI Life app installation. Use a Huawei phone to download and install it. If a mouse is connected, available Wi-Fi networks will be listed after clicking the Wi-Fi icon. Select your network or tap 'AI Life' in the list to connect via the app. For first-time AI Life app users, sign in with your HUAWEI ID. If no monitor is discovered, tap '+' and 'Add device' in the AI Life app to scan for devices, or scan the monitor's QR code. The AI Life app also allows customisation of monitor functions like renaming.

Connecting the monitor with a cable

Note: Some components and cables may need to be purchased separately.

USB-C to USB-C cable connection

Use a USB-C cable to connect a laptop or phone to the monitor for operation and simultaneous charging.

Steps:

  1. Connect one end of the delivered USB-C to USB-C cable to the monitor's USB-C port and the other end to the USB-C port of your device (laptop/phone). The device's USB-C port must support display, data transmission, and charging.
  2. Power on the monitor and the connected device. Successful connection is indicated by the device's screen being displayed on the monitor.
  3. Connect a keyboard and mouse to the monitor's USB-A ports for reverse operation of the connected device. If the device screen does not display automatically, tap the input source button (represented by an arrow icon) and switch to USB-C.

HDMI cable connection

Steps:

  1. Connect one end of an HDMI cable to the computer's HDMI port and the other end to the monitor's HDMI port.
  2. Connect keyboards and mice as needed. To do this, connect the USB-A end of a USB-C to USB-A cable to the computer and the other end to the monitor.
  3. Power on both the monitor and computer. If the computer's system desktop is displayed on the monitor, the connection is successful.

ℹ️ For some monitor models, the monitor's system desktop may appear first. You may be prompted to switch the input source to HDMI to access the computer's desktop. On subsequent power-ons, the computer's desktop should display automatically.

MiniDP-to-DP cable connection

Steps:

  1. Connect the MiniDP end of the MiniDP-to-DP cable to the monitor and the DP end to the desktop computer.
  2. Connect keyboards and mice as needed. To do this, connect the USB-A end of a USB-C to USB-A cable to the desktop and the other end to the monitor.
  3. Power on both the monitor and desktop computer. If the computer's system desktop is displayed on the monitor, the connection is successful.

ℹ️ For some monitor models, the monitor's system desktop may appear first. You may be prompted to switch the input source to MiniDP to access the computer's desktop. On subsequent power-ons, the computer's desktop should display automatically.

Connecting a Bluetooth keyboard or mouse (only supported by HSN-CBA monitors)

HSN-CBA monitors support Bluetooth connectivity for keyboards and mice.

Steps:

  1. When the monitor displays its system desktop, tap the HUAWEI Smart Bar and navigate to the Bluetooth settings (indicated by icons ⚙️ > [Bluetooth icon]). The monitor will search for nearby Bluetooth devices. If the monitor displays an external device's screen, use the HUAWEI Smart Bar (two-finger swipe) to switch input source to the monitor's desktop.
  2. Turn on the Bluetooth switch on your keyboard and mouse to make them discoverable.
  3. Select your Bluetooth device on the monitor. Once connected, you can use the Bluetooth keyboard and mouse to operate the monitor.

Reverse operation of connected external devices is possible in the following scenarios:

Setting the OSD menu of the monitor

  1. When the monitor is powered on and connected to an external device (wired or wireless projection), tap the HUAWEI Smart Bar with one finger to open the OSD menu.
  2. Adjust settings following the instructions for HUAWEI Smart Bar gestures.
  3. Double-tap the HUAWEI Smart Bar to exit the OSD menu, or wait for it to exit automatically.

OSD menu descriptions:

ℹ️ The OSD menu content may vary by monitor model.
