Safety Precautions

WARNING: Radio waves

Radio waves may affect electronic equipment or medical devices (e.g., pacemakers), potentially causing malfunctions or injuries. Consult your doctor or medical device manufacturer before using wireless features (Bluetooth®, wireless LAN) if you use a pacemaker or other medical device. Do not use wireless features in areas where prohibited, such as hospitals, or near fire alarms, automatic doors, or other automatic equipment.

Magnets and medical devices

This product contains magnets that may interfere with pacemakers, defibrillators, programmable shunt valves, or other medical devices. Do not place this product near such devices or persons using them. Consult your doctor before use if you use such medical devices.

General Safety Guidelines

• Read this manual carefully and retain it for future reference.
• Parents and guardians should ensure children follow all safety precautions.
• Stop use and disconnect cables immediately if the device malfunctions, produces unusual sounds or smells, or becomes too hot to touch.
• Do not handle damaged or leaking lithium-ion batteries. If contact occurs with leaking battery material, flush eyes with clean water and seek medical attention. Rinse skin or clothing with clean water. Consult a doctor if inflammation or soreness develops.
• Do not expose the battery to fire or extreme temperatures (direct sunlight, hot vehicles, heat sources).
• Keep out of reach of small children.
• Avoid playing when tired or needing sleep.
• Discontinue use if experiencing dizziness, nausea, fatigue, motion sickness symptoms, or discomfort/pain in body parts (eyes, ears, hands, arms). Consult a doctor if symptoms persist.
• Do not touch the product during an electrical storm.
• Do not use near water.
• Prevent liquids, small particles, or foreign objects from entering the product.
• Avoid high temperatures, high humidity, and direct sunlight during operation, transportation, and storage.
• Do not leave the product in a closed vehicle on hot days.
• Do not place the product where it may cause tripping.
• Hearing Protection: Prolonged use of headsets/headphones at high volumes can cause permanent hearing loss. Set volume to a safe level. If you hear ringing, muffled speech, or experience ear discomfort, stop listening and have your hearing checked. Limit high-volume usage, avoid using high volume to block surroundings, and lower the volume if you cannot hear nearby conversations. Static shocks in dry air are due to static electricity, not a product malfunction.
• Stop use if you feel tired or experience discomfort/pain in hands or arms. Consult a doctor if symptoms persist.
• Do not use vibration or trigger effect features if you have hand/arm injuries or ailments. Disable these features in PS5 console settings if necessary.
• Avoid prolonged use; take breaks approximately every 30 minutes.
• Be aware that controller vibration on a flat surface may cause it to fall, leading to injury or malfunction.
• Do not place the product on unstable, tilted, or vibrating surfaces.
• Avoid looking into the controller's light bar when flashing. Stop use if you experience discomfort.
• Do not stand on or place objects on the product.
• Do not throw, drop, or subject the product to strong physical shock.
• Never disassemble or modify the product.
• Do not touch ports or insert foreign objects.
• Do not allow the product to contact liquids.
• Wipe connectors with a dry cloth if dust or foreign objects are present.
• Do not touch the product with wet hands.
• Motion Sensor Function Caution: Ensure sufficient space for movement. Grip the controller firmly. Be careful that the controller or USB cable does not hit people or objects, causing accidents, injury, or damage.

Cleaning

• Wipe with a soft, dry cloth.
• Do not use insecticides or volatile substances.
• Do not place rubber or vinyl materials on the product exterior for extended periods.
• Do not use solvents or chemicals, or wipe with chemically treated cloths.

Battery Life and Duration

The battery has a limited lifespan and its duration will gradually decrease with use and age. Battery life also varies based on storage, usage conditions, and environmental factors.

Charge within a temperature range of 50°F to 86°F (10°C to 30°C) for optimal results.

When not in use: For extended periods of non-use, charge the controller fully at least once a year to maintain battery functionality.

Pairing the Controller

1. Turn on your PS5 console.
2. Connect the controller to your console using the included USB cable.
3. Press the ❂ button. The controller powers on, and the light bar blinks before the player indicator lights up.

Charging the Controller

Use the included USB cable to connect the controller to your PS5 console (when on or in rest mode). The light bar slowly blinks orange while charging in rest mode and turns off when charging is complete.

Hints:

• Enable charging in rest mode via PS5 console settings.
• You can also charge using a computer or other USB device compliant with the USB standard. Charging may not be possible on all devices.

Limited Warranty

Sony Interactive Entertainment LLC ("SIE LLC") warrants this product to the original purchaser against defects in material and workmanship for one (1) year from the purchase date. This warranty excludes consumables like batteries. SIE LLC will, at its option, repair or replace the product with a new or factory-recertified unit upon proof of purchase. "Factory recertified" means returned to original specifications. Contact playstation.com/help or 1-800-345-7669 for return authorization and shipping instructions. The original purchaser is responsible for inbound shipping costs and packaging. SIE LLC covers return shipping. This warranty is void if defects arise from abuse, unreasonable use, mistreatment, neglect, or causes other than material or workmanship defects.

THIS WARRANTY IS IN LIEU OF ALL OTHER WARRANTIES. IMPLIED WARRANTIES, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ARE LIMITED TO ONE (1) YEAR. SIE LLC IS NOT LIABLE FOR INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES. Some states/provinces may not allow limitations on implied warranty duration or exclusion of consequential/incidental damages.
