About the Gaggenau DVP 221

This document provides installation instructions for the Gaggenau DVP 221 appliance.

Before Installation (Figure 1)

Notes:

The appliance contains an oil-filled pump. Avoid tipping or placing it on its side, as oil may leak.

Use appropriate tools to remove transport locks and install the oil filter.

Do not move the appliance without the pump's transport lock installed, as oil may leak and damage the unit. Reinstall the lock before moving.

Procedure:

  1. Carefully lift the appliance out of the packaging.
  2. Remove the pump's transport lock from the top of the appliance. (This lock can be secured to the rear for future use).
  3. Install the oil filter.
  4. Place the lid into the opening and slide it to the left.
  5. Remove the transport lock screws.

Figure 1 depicts the Gaggenau DVP 221 appliance, showing its main body with dimensions indicated: 590mm length, 510mm width, 140mm height, and 21mm clearance at the bottom front. It also illustrates the included installation hardware: two screws, two mounting brackets/clips, four additional screws, and a power cord.

Installing the Appliance (Figures 2 & 3)

Caution: The appliance may tip when the drawer is open if tilt protection is not installed. Only open the drawer after tilt protection is mounted.

Procedure:

  1. Install the tilt protection. (Note: The height of the tilt protection can be adjusted to facilitate sliding the appliance into the cabinet).
  2. Connect the appliance.
  3. Slide the appliance into the cabinet. (Note: Ensure the power cable is not pinched or kinked).
  4. Center the appliance.
  5. Carefully open the drawer. Check that the tilt protection is secure.
  6. Screw the appliance into place.

Figures 2 & 3 illustrate the installation process within a cabinet. This includes required internal cabinet clearances: minimum height of 550mm, minimum side clearance of 35mm, minimum width of 560mm (+8mm tolerance), and minimum depth of 590mm (+5mm tolerance). It also shows clearance requirements for installation under a worktop, with a maximum worktop overhang of 30mm and a vertical clearance of 141mm (+1mm tolerance). The figures detail steps for removing transport locks, installing the oil filter, mounting the tilt protection mechanism, sliding the appliance into the cabinet, and securing it with brackets and screws, followed by final checks and drawer operation.

Electrical Connection

The appliance must only be connected to a correctly installed, earthed socket.

A socket must only be installed or the power cable replaced by a qualified electrician in accordance with appropriate regulations.

Use only the provided power cable. Connect it to the back of the appliance.

Do not use multi-plugs, multiple connectors, or extension leads, as overloading causes a risk of fire.

If the plug is no longer accessible after installation, a partition must be provided in the phases in the permanent electrical installation according to regulations.

Fitted Units

Do not install the appliance behind a unit door.

Follow the installation instructions for the appliance you wish to combine with the drawer.

Installing Below the Worktop

If the worktop overlaps the furniture cavity too much, it may lead to collisions with the glass cover in the vacuum-sealing drawer. Observe the maximum possible dimension.
