Vanguard Loudspeaker Stands
Instruction and Assembly Manual
Manufactured by Vera-Fi Audio, LLC
Introduction
The placement of your speakers and the materials that support them significantly impact their performance. Resonances from shelves or furniture can distort the clarity of the stereo image, compromising the sound. These stands are engineered specifically for the Vanguard Scout Bookshelf Speakers to reduce vibrations and resonances, delivering cleaner and more accurate audio.
Designed with budget-conscious audiophiles in mind, these stands offer a simple, quick assembly so you can start enjoying your music without delay.
By isolating your Vanguard Scout speakers, these stands enhance performance with rubber feet suitable for both carpet and hard floors.
Rubber Isolation Pucks between the double bases minimize vibrations, while the Hollow Pillars allow for filling with sand or other damping materials for further fine-tuning.
An optional Damping Tube on the speaker platform offers additional mass loading and resonance control, taking your listening experience to the next level.

Assembly Instructions
Step 1: Prepare Bases
Locate the base for each stand, which have rubber feet already installed. Feel along the top of the board to find the pre-drilled holes. Carefully poke through the vinyl covering at these holes using the included bolts. Support the vinyl on the other side to ensure a clean puncture. Repeat this process for the secondary platform and speaker pedestal.
Step 2: Install Base Screws
Install the Button Head Socket Screws from the bottom of the base plate, ensuring the threads point upwards. (Image description: Two base plates shown with four silver screws inserted upwards from the bottom).
Step 3: Attach Second Platform
Take the rubber isolation pucks and slide them over the bolts on each base plate. Then, install the second platform on top of them. The rubber pucks should be sandwiched between the two bases.

Step 4: Attach Columns
Use the Allen wrench to hold the Button Head Socket Screws in place from the bottom of the stand while you hand-thread the metal columns onto the screws for each base. This is easiest done by assembling the stands on their side. Ensure the final tightness is firm. If the rubber pucks begin to compress excessively, back off the pressure slightly until they regain their shape.
Step 5: Mount Speaker Pedestals
Mount the speaker pedestal platforms to the top of each set of columns using the black countersunk bolts. Do not overtighten.

Optional Features
Adhesive Speaker Foam Pads
There are 8 adhesive foam pads included. These can be used to cover the exposed bolt holes on the top of the speaker pedestal, adding an extra layer of dampening between the speaker and the platform. When placing these pads, consider the feet of the speaker you intend to use, as mismatched placement could create an uneven surface.

Additional Resonance Damping - Tuning
Each metal column of these speaker stands is hollow, allowing for the use of damping materials such as sand or filler of your choice. Decorative filler from a dollar store is recommended for its low cost, effectiveness, and particle size, which is less likely to create a mess or damage threads. It is advised not to use more than 10 lbs of total damping material per stand to avoid overloading and potential damage or reduced effectiveness.

Pedestal Resonance Tubes
Locate the 5th pre-drilled hole in the center of each speaker pedestal platform. Carefully poke through this hole from the top using the included round Philips head bolts. Fill the small resonance tubes with sand or other filler, and then attach them to the bottom of the pedestal. Ensure not to overfill the tubes, leaving room for the bolt. Hold the bolt from the top and hand-tighten the resonance tube until firm. Using the adhesive foam pads with the resonance tubes is recommended to ensure bolt clearance and protect the loudspeaker finish. The resonance tubes, when filled, help mass-load the speaker pedestal, limiting vibration transmission and altering the resonant frequency of the platform for improved bass clarity.
