Installation Steps
Step 1: Prepare the Modem
Turn off the modem and remove its battery if it has one.
Step 2: Connect to ISP Modem
Connect Cudy's WAN port to your ISP modem using an Ethernet cable.
Step 3: Power On Modem
Turn on the modem and wait approximately 2 minutes for it to restart.
Step 4: Power On Router
Connect the power adapter to the router and wait for the "Power" system indicator light to turn solid on.
Step 5: Connect Your Device
Method A: Wi-Fi Connection
Connect your device to the router's Wi-Fi network. Use the SSID (network name) and Password printed on the bottom of the router (e.g., Cudy-XXXX-5G). On your device, select the network and enter the password.
Method B: Wired Connection
Turn off the Wi-Fi on your computer. Connect your computer to one of the router's LAN ports using an Ethernet cable.
Initial Configuration
Step 6: Access Setup Page
Launch a web browser (e.g., Edge, Chrome, Firefox, Safari) and enter either http://cudy.net/ or http://192.168.10.1/ in the address bar. Create an administrator password to log in.
Step 7: Quick Setup Wizard
A Quick Setup wizard will appear. Follow the step-by-step instructions to set up your internet connection.
The wizard typically guides you through configuring:
- Operation Mode (e.g., Wireless Router, Access Point, Extender, WISP)
- Timezone
- WAN settings
- Wireless settings (SSID and Password for 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands)
- Summary of settings
Once configured, click "Save & Apply" to finalize the setup.
Status Indicators and App
LED Indicators
The router is equipped with LED indicators for Power, 2.4GHz Wi-Fi, 5GHz Wi-Fi, and WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup).
Cudy App
Scan the QR code provided to download the Cudy App, which allows for mobile management of your router.
