Choosing Your Wardrobe

Explore a wide range of PAX and KOMPLEMENT combinations on the IKEA website or in-store. If you don't find a ready-made combination you like, use the PAX planner to create a wardrobe that suits your needs and style. Start by browsing pre-designed combinations for inspiration, which can then be customized by size, color, or interior fittings. You can also create a completely new combination of PAX and KOMPLEMENT items. The process is simple:

1. Choose Frames: Consider your room's space. Note the maximum height and width for your new wardrobe. Corner wardrobes can be a good solution for utilizing otherwise unused space.
2. Choose Design: Select your desired wardrobe color. A wide range of door colors is available.
3. Choose Interior Organizers: Think about your daily needs. If you have many shoes, consider a pull-out shoe shelf. For many trousers, add a convenient trouser hanger. For seasonal clothing storage, use spacious baskets.

Once you've decided on the interior details, add finishing touches like boxes and accessories from our diverse selection. Built-in lighting is easy to install and helps you find items more easily.

Built-in Lighting

Use built-in lighting to easily find items in your wardrobe without disturbing others. LED light strips turn on when the wardrobe doors are opened. Placing lights at the top of the wardrobe or under the top shelf allows light to flow downwards. Lamps above the wardrobe provide ambient lighting even when doors are closed. Connect to IKEA Smart lighting via the TRÅDFRI gateway.

How to Choose Your Built-in Lighting?

Built-in lighting eliminates the need to turn on the ceiling lamp to find clothes. LED light strips turn on when wardrobe doors are opened. Lights mounted at the top of the wardrobe provide visibility and create a cozy atmosphere even when doors are closed. Connect to IKEA Smart lighting using the TRÅDFRI gateway for app control.

How to Choose a Power Supply?

Two types of LED power supplies are available. Choose based on the number of devices. The 10 W power supply supports up to 3 connections (max 10 W total). The 30 W power supply supports up to 9 connections (max 30 W total). Up to 10 power supplies can be connected to one cord. A flashing indicator light signals when the maximum power of the LED power supply is exceeded. When using multiple power supplies, ensure each is synchronized with the TRÅDFRI remote control for simultaneous dimming. Enhance functionality by connecting the TRÅDFRI gateway for app control and creating desired moods with other TRÅDFRI lighting.

Hinged Doors

NORRFLY LED light strips illuminate the wardrobe interior for easier item retrieval. Place the strip under the top edge of the wardrobe or under the top shelf for downward light. Lamps above the wardrobe provide ambient lighting when doors are closed.

Sliding Doors

For wardrobes with sliding doors and a soft-closing mechanism located under the top edge, choose an appropriately sized light strip. The mechanism occupies 18 cm, so the light strip must be shorter than the wardrobe width. A 75 cm wide frame requires a 42 cm light strip, and a 100 cm wide frame requires a 67 cm light strip. Mounting the light strip one shelf lower allows for a standard length strip.
