KEK Amsterdam Wall Coverings
Instructions
PLEASE READ THE INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY BEFORE YOU START
Make sure that the surface is really clean and dry, and free from dust or grease. The best way to prepare the surface is to wipe it over with a damp cloth dipped in a diluted ammonia + water solution. Do not use soap-based cleaning agents since this may lead to the stickers eventually coming loose.
Wait one day to let the wall dry out completely. If the walls have just been plastered or painted (using latex paint) then we advise you to allow the walls to dry out completely by waiting at least 3 weeks before fixing the wall stickers.
Step 1: Understanding Your Sticker Sheet
Your order arrives on sticker sheets, typically composed of 3 layers: the top cover sheet (layer 1), the sticker itself (layer 2), and the backing paper (layer 3).
If your sheet contains multiple stickers, cut each one out individually before proceeding.
Step 2: Preparing the Sticker for Application
Place the sticker sheet, top cover sheet facing upwards, on a smooth, firm surface like a table. Use a cash card or similar item to gently rub over the sticker sheet to remove any air bubbles. Once the top cover sheet is smooth, rub over the entire sticker again to ensure it adheres completely to the top cover sheet.
Step 3: Separating the Sticker from Backing
Carefully peel back the top cover sheet, along with the sticker, away from the backing paper. Ensure the sticker remains attached to the top cover sheet.
Step 4: Applying the Sticker to the Wall
Gently but firmly press the sticker onto the prepared surface, working from the center outwards. Use a cash card or similar item to smooth it down and remove any air bubbles.
Step 5: Removing the Top Cover Sheet
The sticker should now be firmly adhered to the wall. Carefully remove the top cover sheet by slowly peeling it off at an angle of approximately 30 degrees. Be cautious to ensure the sticker remains stuck to the surface as you peel.
Step 6: Enjoy Your Wall Sticker
Your wall sticker is now applied. Enjoy!
Important Information for Removing KEK Wall Stickers
If you need to remove old stickers, use a hairdryer on a medium setting to gently warm the sticker. This will help it peel away from the wall more easily.
