Box contents 1 Satellite Gateway 2 Power Supply 3 Antenna 4 Antenna Extension Cable 5 RJ12 Cable You will need · Gallagher i Series Energizer and Energizer Controller · Mobile Phone with iPhone iOS 14 or later, or Android v6.0 or later · WiFi or cellular coverage for set-up prior to installation · An indoor location for the Satellite Gateway that is protected from rain and wind, with access for the antenna to have a clear view of the sky Satellite Gateway communication Mobile Phone 3 Antenna 4 2 1 Satellite Gateway i Series Energizer Energizer Controller 5 RJ12 Cables pg. 2 1 How it works · As the satellite orbits the earth and passes over your Satellite Gateway, it collects data transmitted from your energizer and stored on the gateway. · This data is stored in the cloud. · When your mobile device has WiFi or cellular coverage, it retrieves the data and loads it into your Gallagher Devices app. · Time interval between reads will vary depending on Satellites orbiting the earth and the location of your antenna. 2 Set up your account and subscription IMPORTANT! Read both steps before scanning the QR codes. Complete steps 1 and 2 in an area with good cellular or Wi-Fi reception, before heading out in the field to install. Step 1 Website account creation Scan the unique QR code below to create your account and subscribe to satellite connectivity. Step 2 Gallagher Devices app Scan the QR code below to download and log in to the Gallagher Devices app. Remain logged in. The Satellite Gateway will be visible, ready for set-up. A unique QR code for each Gateway will be placed here and on the device. pg. 3 3 Installation site Before you head to site, ensure you have: Created your account and purchased a subscription. Downloaded the Gallagher Devices app and are logged in. A Gallagher i Series Energizer and Energizer Controller. Screws and a drill bit to fasten the Satellite Gateway to a wall (not included). A suitable install location that is protected from rain and wind and has a clear view of the sky. The antenna installation site Choose a location where the antenna can be installed in a position where it has a clear, unobstructed view of the sky and horizons in all directions. The more sky and horizon the antenna can see, the better the connection. Avoid placing the antenna in a location where it may encounter interference, such as in proximity to high voltage power lines, mobile phone towers, radio towers, or similar sources of electrical noise. Mount the antenna away from or above any nearby buildings or trees. Elevate it for a better sky view. pg. 4 4 Physical Install Install your i Series Energizer and Controller · Install your i Series Energizer and Energizer Controller according to the supplied instructions. · Power off the energizer. Install the Satellite Gateway · Choose an indoor location that is sheltered from wind and rain and within one meter of the energizer. · Secure the Satellite Gateway to the wall using screws (not provided). Connect the cables to the Satellite Gateway · There are two RJ12 connectors on the Satellite Gateway, either can be used for the energizer or controller. · Disconnect the controllers RJ12 cable from the energizer and plug into either RJ12 connector on the Satellite Gateway. · Plug the supplied RJ12 cable into the second RJ12 connector on the Satellite Gateway. Plug the other end into the back of the energizer. · Attach the antenna extension cable to the antenna connector on the Satellite Gateway then connect the antenna to the other end. Tighten until finger tight. Mount the Antenna · Secure the antenna to the roof of the shed where it has an unobstructed view of the sky. · Elevate the antenna to ensure an unobstructed view of the sky and horizons in all directions. · The antenna has a strong magnet on the base for easy attachment to a metal roof. Side view of Satellite Gateway RJ12 connectors Antenna connector Power connector Button Breather pg. 5 5 Power and satellite connection Power the i Series Energizer and Satellite Gateway · The i Series Energizer and the Satellite Gateway can be powered by mains, solar, or battery. Note: The controller is powered by the energizer. · A 15V power supply is provided with the Satellite Gateway for mains connection. · Plug the energizer and Satellite Gateway into a power source. · Power on. Satellite Gateway connection · Wake up the Satellite Gateway by pressing the button on the side for one second. The Satellite Gateway will beep once, and the button will light up, indicating that it is now searching for a satellite connection. · The Satellite Gateway is now searching for passing satellites. Depending on the path of nearby satellites connection can take from 5 minutes to an hour while searching for a passing satellite. Side view of Satellite Gateway Power connector Button pg. 6 6 Connection to the Gallagher Devices App Gallagher Devices App with Bluetooth® connection · Press the button on the Satellite Gateway for one second to initiate a Bluetooth® connection with your phone. The Satellite Gateway will now communicate directly with your phone and the Gallagher Devices app using Bluetooth®. Side view of Satellite Gateway Gallagher Devices App and status The Gallagher Devices app shows the status for: · Energizer connection · Power connection · Satellite signal strength · Satellite data transfer Button Open the Gallagher Devices app: · It displays `Waiting for Satellite' until it makes a connection, then `Satellite Ready' appears. · Once `Satellite Ready' appears the Satellite Gateway is fully installed! Gallagher Devices App with WiFi or cellular coverage When the phone regains WiFi or cellular connectivity the Gallagher Devices app automatically updates. To add another device, click the menu button on the top left. Note: The Satellite Gateway limits the number of alerts sent to avoid overloading satellite communications.
