1. Install the Dimmer

Single Dimmer

Wiring: Connect the Live wire (Red or Brown) to the 'L' terminal, the Neutral wire (Black or Blue) to the 'N' terminal, and the Live to load wire to the 'L1' terminal.

Two Way Dimming

Note: Requires one DMHCS Secondary Dimmer.

Wiring: Connect the Live wire (Red or Brown) to the 'L' terminal, the Neutral wire (Black or Blue) to the 'N' terminal, and the Single wire to the 'S' terminal on the master dimmer. The secondary dimmer (DMHCS) connects to the 'S' and 'L1' terminals.

Download the app from the App Store or Google Play.

DMHCM Smart App Setup

1. Turn on Bluetooth on your phone for initial setup.
2. Ensure you have your Wi-Fi network name and password.
3. Ensure the dimmer is wired, powered on, and has a lighting load connected.
4. Launch the BG Smart app and create or sign in to an account.
5. Put the dimmer into pairing mode: press and hold the dimmer knob for at least 8 seconds. The light will blink twice.
6. Add the device: The app may auto-detect the device. Follow on-screen instructions, or tap '+' and select 'Add Device'.

Selecting the Right Lamps

This dimmer switch is compatible with standard dimmable lamps (not smart lamps). The lighting load must be a minimum of 10W. For multiple lamps, use the same make and model.

Additional Features

Minimum Dimming Level

Set a minimum dimming level (1% to 50%) in the app to eliminate "dead travel" on the knob or slider.

Leading/Trailing Edge Mode

Switch between Trailing (default) and Leading edge dimming via the app. Trailing edge is generally best for LEDs. Incompatible lighting may cause flickering.

Restore State After Power Outage

Configure the dimmer to restore to the previous lighting level or a user-defined level after a power cut.

Note: Initial power-on may cause brief flickering (10-60 seconds) with certain lamps; this is normal.
