LG Limited Warranty (USA)
This document outlines the limited warranty terms and conditions for LG products in the USA.
Warranty Overview
ARBITRATION NOTICE: This Limited Warranty contains an arbitration provision requiring resolution of disputes through binding arbitration instead of court, waiving jury trials and class actions, unless you choose to opt out.
Should your LG Gas Range ("Product") fail due to a defect in materials or workmanship under normal and proper use during the warranty period, LG Electronics ("LG") will, at its option, repair or replace the Product. This limited warranty is valid only for the original retail purchaser and applies only when purchased and used within the United States and U.S. Territories.
| Warranty Period | Scope of Warranty | How Service is Handled |
|---|---|---|
| One (1) year from date of original retail purchase | Parts and Labor (internal / functional parts only) | LG will provide, free of charge, all labor and in-home service to replace defective part(s). |
- Replacement products and parts are warranted for the remaining portion of the original warranty period or ninety (90) days, whichever is greater.
- Replacement products and parts may be new, reconditioned, refurbished, or otherwise factory remanufactured.
- Proof of original retail purchase specifying the Product model and date of purchase is required to obtain warranty service.
Implied warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose are limited to the duration of this limited warranty. LG and its distributors/dealers are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages, including lost goodwill, revenues, profits, work stoppage, impairment of other goods, removal/reinstallation costs, or loss of use. LG's total liability shall not exceed the product's purchase price.
Some states may not allow these limitations, so they may not apply to you. This warranty grants specific legal rights, and you may have other rights that vary by state.

Troubleshooting Common Issues (Not Covered by Warranty)
| Problem | Cause | Prevention |
|---|---|---|
| Cooktop enamel chipping off | Improper usage | Do not hit enamel cooktop. |
| Burners do not light | Clogged or dirty burner ports or electrodes will not allow the burner to operate properly. | Check and clean the gas electrode. (Visual: Shows a clean electrode versus a dirty electrode.) |
| Uneven flame | 1. Improper burner cap installation. 2. Burner ports clogged by food residue. |
1. Check installation of burner head and cap. (Visuals: Illustrating a correctly seated burner cap versus an incorrectly seated one.) 2. Hardened residue should be removed using a toothbrush. (Visuals: Showing clean burner ports versus ports blocked by dirt.) |
| Burner cap color changes and becomes dull | 1. Scratching. 2. Use of detergent or abrasive cleansers. |
Do not use steel wool or abrasive cleansers to clean. To remove burnt-on food, soak the burner heads in hot water for 20-30 minutes (do not use detergent). (Visual: Shows lost shine.) |
| Knobs melt | Improper usage. | Do not leave door at stop position during Broil/Bake mode or right after cooking. (Visuals: Images of melted control knobs.) |
| Oven or racks are stained after using aluminum foil | Aluminum foil has melted in the oven. | Never cover the oven bottom or cover an entire rack with materials such as aluminum foil. If foil has melted onto the oven, it will not affect performance. (Diagrams: Showing aluminum foil placed on an oven rack or covering the oven bottom.) |
| Flame or power is weak | Gas pressure may be weak. | Check with gas supplier first. |
| Surface is not level / Oven is tipping | 1. Range not leveled. 2. Anti-tip device not installed correctly. |
1. Level both sides of range. (Visual: Use carpenter's level to check level, showing approximate measurement 0.65" or 16.5 mm.) 2. Check with installer first. (Visual: Shows anti-tip bracket and wall plate, indicating screw must enter wood or concrete.) |
| Oven shows error code (F9, F19) but cooktop burners are working. | The gas pressure regulator valve is closed. | Check that the regulator valve is in the open position. If closed, rotate the lever to open the valve. (Diagrams: Showing the gas pressure regulator valve in a closed position versus an open position.) |
| Flames too big on converted cooktop (NP → LP) | The installer missed part of the conversion (check regulator, cooktop nozzles, broil/bake nozzles). | Check with installer first. Refer to installation manual. (Diagrams: Showing regulator, cooktop nozzles, broil/bake nozzles.) |
| Flame is too small or too large | 1. Variable gas pressure. 2. Installer did not check. |
Check with installer first. (Diagram: Shows center adjustment screw.) |
| Gas smell | Improper connection. | Check with installer first. (Diagram: Shows flexible connector hookup for gas, including pressure regulator, adapters, and gas shut-off valve.) |

Procedure for Resolving Disputes
All disputes between you and LG arising out of or relating to this Limited Warranty or the Product shall be resolved exclusively through binding arbitration, not in a court of general jurisdiction. Binding arbitration means you and LG waive the right to a jury trial and to bring or participate in a class action.
Definitions
For this section, "LG" refers to LG Electronics U.S.A., Inc., its parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, officers, directors, employees, agents, beneficiaries, predecessors, successors, assigns, and suppliers. "Dispute" or "claim" includes any dispute, claim, or controversy of any kind (based in contract, tort, statute, regulation, ordinance, fraud, misrepresentation, or other legal/equitable theory) arising from the sale, condition, or performance of the product or this Limited Warranty.
Notice of Dispute
To commence arbitration, notify LG in writing at least 30 days prior by sending a letter to LG Electronics, USA, Inc., Attn: Legal Department- Arbitration, 111 Sylvan Avenue, Englewood Cliffs, NJ 07632. LG and you agree to engage in good faith discussions to resolve the claim amicably. The notice must include your name, address, telephone number, product identification, and a description of the claim and relief sought. If the dispute is not resolved within 30 days, either party may file for arbitration.
Agreement to Binding Arbitration and Class Action Waiver
If the dispute is not resolved within the 30-day notice period, you and LG agree to resolve claims only by binding arbitration on an individual basis, unless you opt out. Disputes shall not be combined or consolidated with claims involving other persons or products. Class or representative actions are not permitted.
Alternatively, either party may bring an individual action in small claims court, provided it is not on a class or representative basis.
Arbitration Rules and Procedures
To begin arbitration, make a written demand. Arbitration will be administered by the American Arbitration Association ("AAA") under its Consumer Arbitration Rules in effect at the time of initiation, and under the procedures in this section. AAA Rules are available at https://www.adr.org/consumer. Send a copy of your demand to AAA as described in AAA Rules, and to LG Electronics, USA, Inc., Attn: Legal Department- Arbitration, 111 Sylvan Avenue, Englewood Cliffs, NJ 07632. If AAA Rules conflict with this section, this section governs. This provision is governed by the Federal Arbitration Act. Judgment on the award may be entered in any court of competent jurisdiction. The arbitrator decides all issues, except for scope/enforceability of the arbitration provision and arbitrability, which are for the court.
Governing Law
The law of your state of residence governs this Limited Warranty and any disputes, unless preempted by or inconsistent with federal law.
Fees/Costs
No fee is required to begin arbitration. LG will promptly pay AAA filing fees unless you seek over $25,000 in damages, in which case AAA Rules govern fee payment. LG pays all AAA filing, administration, and arbitrator fees for arbitrations initiated under AAA Rules and this provision. If you prevail, LG pays reasonable attorneys' fees and expenses. If applicable law allows, an arbitrator can award fees as a court would. If the arbitrator finds the claim or relief frivolous or brought for an improper purpose (per Federal Rule of Civil Procedure 11(b)), you agree to reimburse LG for fees it paid that are your obligation under AAA Rules. LG waives rights to seek your attorneys' fees if LG prevails.
Hearings and Location
For claims of $25,000 or less, you can choose arbitration based on (1) submitted documents, (2) telephonic hearing, or (3) in-person hearing (as per AAA Rules). For claims over $25,000, hearing rights are determined by AAA Rules. In-person hearings are held in your federal judicial district unless agreed otherwise.
Opt Out
You may opt out of this dispute resolution procedure. Opting out means neither you nor LG can require the other to participate in arbitration. To opt out, send notice to LG no later than 30 calendar days from the first consumer purchase date via:
- Email: optout@lge.com with subject "Arbitration Opt Out".
- Phone: 1-800-980-2973.
Include in your notice: (a) your name and address; (b) product purchase date; (c) product model name/number; and (d) serial number (found on product or online at https://www.lg.com/us/support/repair-service/schedule-repair-continued, then click "Find My Model & Serial Number").
Only email or phone notice is effective for opting out. Opting out does not affect warranty coverage. If you keep the product and do not opt out, you accept the arbitration provision terms.
