Software update instruction for X-527
Requirements
Please note: The update consists of a complete Main System software update, which needs to be run from a USB data carrier. To run this update, you need:
- A USB memory device (e.g. USB stick) with at least 2 GB storage capacity.
- A PC or notebook.
Please note: Before you start, the USB stick needs to be formatted as FAT 32 partition. (Right-click on USB memory device in the Windows Explorer. Select "Format" --> FAT 32 --> Start).
Step 1, Download and update USB stick preparation
- Download the software update from https://xzent.com/support/software/. Unzip the update file.
- Copy the update files to the root directory of the formatted USB drive.

Step 2, MCU
The MCU update takes approximately 30 seconds (excluding preparation time).
- Connect the USB drive from step 1 to the USB cable. The device will first open the Wi-Fi settings window. Ignore the Wi-Fi settings window (picture 4) and go to Settings > Upgrade & Reset > Update.
- Now select "MCU" and click the "Upgrade" button to start the update process.

- Once 100% is reached, the device restarts automatically.
Step 3, IMG (ATCUPG)
The IMG update takes approximately 10 minutes (excluding preparation time).
Note: Since the update takes quite a long time, please ensure that the device is constantly supplied with power and that the ignition does not go into energy saving mode.
- If the USB drive from step 1 was disconnected, connect it to the USB cable. The device will first open the Wi-Fi settings window. Ignore the Wi-Fi settings window (picture 4) and go to Settings > Upgrade & Reset > Update.
- Now select "IMG" and click the "Upgrade" button to start the update process.

- The device will restart automatically and the software installation will begin.
- After installing the update, the device will automatically reboot.
Step 4, BT activation
- After restarting your device, the Wi-Fi settings window will appear.
- Enable Wi-Fi and connect to a Wi-Fi/hotspot.

- Now go to the main menu and select BT Phone. Please wait approximately 30 seconds for automatic activation.
- Now remove the USB update stick.
Step 5, Version Check
- After the software update, a version check must be performed. If the version information differs, the entire update must be reinstalled.
- To check the software version, go to Settings > System Info.
