The instructional booklet must be read before setting up, starting or using your StreamlineTM equipment. It is an integral part of the product itself. Please read the warning and instructions contained in this booklet carefully. They provide important information on the safe use and maintenance of the equipment. Pay particular attention to general safety instructions. Please keep this booklet in a safe place near your StreamlineTM Powerdrive 3 system for future consultation. Your Powerdrive 3 is constructed according to current safety standard and regulations. The latest and current edition is illustrated in this manual. The contents of this booklet should be bought to the attention of all users. Manufacturer Responsibilities Varitech Systems Ltd, the manufacture of StreamlineTM, holds 12-months warranty on all machines and equipment from the date of purchased (see Warranty section 9) Varitech Systems Ltd, the manufacture of StreamlineTM, is in no case responsible for failures or errors caused by modifications to the unit by customer or other persons. Personnel Responsibilities The StreamlineTM Power Drive 3 is designed and manufactured to be operated in industrial applications. It is important that the operator(s) of the equipment have read through these operating instructions thoroughly, and understand all safety instructions and regulations. The Power Drive 3 system is not intended for use by children, adolescents, persons under the influence of alcohol / drugs or simply lacking experience and knowledge. These operating instructions are designed to educate the user, informing the operator how to carry out the task at hand successfully, whilst avoiding potential dangers that might occur. The water cannot be used for human consumption. Stay alert, watch what you are doing and use common sense when operating the StreamlineTM Powerdrive 3 Do not use the reel while you are tired or under the influence of alcohol, drugs or medication. A moment of inattention while operating could result in serious personal injury. Use personal protective equipment to avoid personal injury: Protective Gloves Safety Goggles Protective Footwear Additional protective equipment such as a dust mask, non-skid safety shoes, hard hat or hearing protection may be required depending on the safety regulations in the operator surroundings. System Safety Anti-Snag Protection If the hose snags in anyway or is held back for period of time, the unit will cut out the drive motor out to prevent burn out. It is important to keep all fingers and hands away from chain guide. Overheating If the motor overheats on the Streamline Power Drive 3 an activation switch is triggered and the system will automatically switch off. Pinch Hazard When operating the electric hose reel, always be mindful of pinch hazards. Keep fingers and skin clear of the reel and moving parts while it is in motion to avoid injury. Ensure the area around the reel is free from obstructions, and never attempt to adjust or touch the hose while it is being reeled in. Trip Hazard Be aware of trip hazards when using the electric hose reel. Ensure the hose is properly managed and kept out of walkways and work areas to prevent tripping. Always reel in the hose when not in use. Electrical Hazards As the StreamlineTM Power Drive 3 system is powered by an electrical source, never use the equipment in direct rain, snow or strong winds. Never use the StreamlineTM Powerdrive 3 system to clean people and/or animals. Before each use, undertake a visual check on all pipes/ cables for damage. Never use the StreamlineTM Power Drive 3 with a damaged components. Mechanical Hazards To avoid all mechanical hazards, place the StreamlineTM Power Drive 3 on an even surface only, and ensure sufficient stability. Important: Use only original accessories that come with the Streamline Electric Reel System, offering maximum quality and security. Failure to use original accessories absolves Varitech Systems Ltd, the manufacturer from all liability. 6 W: www.streamline.systems E: sales@streamline.systems T: +44 (0)1626 830 830 Electrical Specifications & Safety · Electrical connections must be carried out in respect of current legislation (in compliance with the provisions of the IEC 60364-1 standard) and in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions. · Please check that the installation and sockets are adequate for the maximum power of the appliance indicated on the rating plate. If in doubt, consult a qualified electrician. The correct plug should be fitted by a qualified electrician. · Short term and long term storage is an important issue. The Streamline Electric Reel System must be protected from algae and bacteria growth in the pressure vessels caused by stagnant water. · Vartitech Systems Ltd, the manufactures of StreamlineTM, declines all liability for damage caused by faulty earthing of the appliance. · Vartitech Systems Ltd, the manufacture of StreamlineTM declines all liability for damage to persons, animals or things caused by faulty or incorrect connection. Important: When using any electrical appliance, certain fundamental rules should be respected · Do not touch the appliance with wet hands or feet; · Storage of the StreamlineTM Powerdrive 3 system when not in use, should be in a clean dry place, away from water supply or temperature drop. If this is missing, notify the distributor / manufacturer where you purchased the unit from. Use of an appliance without an Identification plate absolves the Manufacturer from all liability. Products without an identification plate should be considered as anonymous and potentially dangerous. Important: · The unit must always be protected from freezing. Warranty is void if parts are found to have been damaged by frost Storage of the StreamlineTM Electric Reel System · Your StreamlineTM Powerdrive 3 System has been carefully manufactured, checked through QC and packaged as a kit. · Carefully unpack your new StreamlineTM Powerdrive 3 and carry out a thorough visual check on all parts. If in doubt, do not use the system. Contact your supplier and/or manufacturer. · Packaging (bags, boxes, nails, tape etc.) should be kept out of reach of children as they may represent a potential hazard. Fix the Reel in place using the mount holes provided. 2. Choose the side where you want to install the water inlet pipe, then wrap the threaded end with PTFE thread sealing tape to ensure a watertight seal. 3. Here is an example of a correctly prepared rotary joint connection with PTFE tape applied to the threads, ready for fitting. Now screw the water inlet connection onto the rotary joint by hand to ensure proper alignment. 5. Finally, hold the drum steady and use a spanner to tighten the rotary joint by turning it clockwise until secure. 10 W: www.streamline.systems E: sales@streamline.systems T: +44 (0)1626 830 830 Connecting your hose for the first time 1. The end of your hose consists of three main components: the 21 Series male adapter (labelled A), the O Clip (labelled B), and the hose pipe itself A B C (labeled C). 2. Slide the O Clip (B) onto the hose (C). Push the hose onto the barb of the adapter (A) until it reaches the Shoulder. Slide the O Clip (B) over the barb area. Crimp the O Clip securely with a Suitable crimping tool. 3. Thread the hose pipe through the hole located at the cross section in the center of your PowerDrive 3 hose reel. 4. Now attach and secure the hose pipe to the hose connection point. W: www.streamline.systems E: sales@streamline.systems T: +44 (0)1626 830 830 11 Connecting/Adjusting your wiring Important: Please note to follow proper safety precautions when adjusting the wiring to the battery and ensure you are using PPE. Do not connect both the POSITIVE and NEGATIVE wires to the terminals simultaneously as this can lead to an electric shock. Additionally Do not under any circumstances allow the NEGATIVE cable to come into contact with the POSITIVE terminal of the battery as this will cause significant damage to the controller within the reel. 1. Wiring loom with anderson connector that connects into the back of your reel. This consists of 3 parts. 1. POSITIVE RED CABLE 2. NEGATIVE BLACK CABLE 3. ANDERSON CONNECTOR 2. Connect the Anderson connector from the wiring loom to the matching Anderson connector at the back of your Powerdrive reel. Connect your POSITIVE RED cable to the battery terminal. The positive battery terminal is clearly marked with a + symbol. 4. Connect your NEGATIVE BLACK cable to the battery terminal. The negative battery terminal is clearly marked with a - symbol. 5. Here is an Example of a fitted battery terminal with the correct setup of the cables. Now you can adjust the speed of the Reel by using the and arrows on the controller. (1 is slow and 4 is fast) 3. To switch off the controller, press the button and hold for 2 seconds. 4. To activate the hose reel, press and hold the green button on your pendant controller. 14 W: www.streamline.systems E: sales@streamline.systems T: +44 (0)1626 830 830 Controller settings Controller snag sensitivity calibration Press and hold the and buttons to enter CAL (calibration). This can be set between 1 and 99, and adjusts how sensitive the SNg (snag) is. Use the or button to adjust this setting accordingly. Press to set. Controller brake settings Press and hold the and buttons to enter the brake settings. brA will be displayed. The brake can be switched On or Off by using the and buttons. Set the break option by pressing the button. Check water supply is good and consistent. 2. Air has not been bled from system. Controller Error Codes DSC - The motor wires have been disconnected. Check wiring the wiring if the message persists Contact the distributor. SNG - An obstruction has been detected during a rewind. The reel has been stopped for safety reasons, release the operator push button. Remove the obstruction, then press the push button to restart. OC - An over current has been detected, the controller has shut down the motor to protect itself. IMPORTANT Unplug the power source before making any adjustments to the chain tension. 2. Using a 4mm allen key, unscrew the five bolts securing the front plate on the motor side panel, then remove the side panel. 3. Using a wrench, loosen the top securing nut. 4. Using a 4mm Allen key, loosen the bottom two bolts to allow for chain Adjustment. Be sure to re-tighten them after completing the chain adjustment. 5. Using a spanner loosen or tighten the bottom nut to adjust the chain tension, We recommend having 5mm - 10mm of slack on your chain. W: www.streamline.systems E: sales@streamline.systems T: +44 (0)1626 830 830 17 6 Service & Maintenance Service & Maintenance Care and maintenance of your electric reel will ensure it is well looked after and running smoothly every time. It is recommended to run a weekly examination on the StreamlineTM Electric Reel system to ensure the components and connections are adequate for use, check the tension of the chain monthly to ensure longevity. We recommend that you lubricate your chain at least once every two months to maximise performance. Routine maintenance once a year, will add to the life of your reel and we recommend lance seals, pumps and battery are inspected and replaced accordingly to ensure proper rinse clean. All parts are available from StreamlineTM for this service. Weekly inspection · Check StreamlineTM Electric Reel system is kept clean and chemical free. · Check all connections are leak free. · Check all electrical connections for damage. Disposal of components & machine StreamlineTM Powerdrive 3 is classified as special waste. It must be taken apart and divided into uniform sections which should be disposed of according to current legislation. THIS WARRANTY EXCLUDES NORMAL MAINTENANCE ITEMS, including but not limited to HOSES, FILTERS, O-RINGS, DIAPHRAGMS, VALVES, GASKETS, CARBON BRUSHES and damage to motors and other components as a result of failure to replace normal maintenance items. THIS LIST IS NOT EXHAUSTIVE. If StreamlineTM receives notice of such defects during the warranty period, StreamlineTM will either, at its opinion, repair or replace components which prove to be defective. Replacement parts will only be supplied under warranty, upon the inspection and approval of the defective parts by StreamlineTM. Should it be necessary to supply replacement parts before the opportunity to inspect, these will be charged at current prices and credit will only be issued upon subsequent inspection and warranty approval by StreamlineTM. Wear and tear, misuse, abuse improper maintenance, frost damage, the use of chemicals other than those supplied or approved by StreamlineTM, improper installation or repair, unauthorised modification, incidental or consequential costs, loss or damage, service, labour or third party charges, the cost of returning defective parts to StreamlineTM. This warranty constitutes the exclusive remedy of any purchaser of a StreamlineTM unit and is in lieu of all other warranties, express or implied, including without limitation any implied warranty of merchantability or fitness for use, to the fullest extent permitted by law. In no event shall any implied warranty of merchantability or fitness for use exceed the term of the applicable warranty stated above and StreamlineTM shall have no other obligation or liability. Important Unfortunately these rights cannot be transferred to a third party. The customer is responsible for the cost of return of the defective part. If warranty is approved, StreamlineTM will pay for the cost of the repaired or replacement part.
