Toshiba Lifestyle Corporation
High Functionality in a Compact 26L Model
Toshiba Lifestyle Corporation is releasing the ER-D4000B, a new model in the "Stone Kiln Dome" series of steam ovens. This compact 26L model, featuring hot air convection and a 5-inch color touch panel, will be available starting in August. It offers high-heat cooking up to 300°C, enabling faster and tastier results, along with 2-level cooking. The oven also boasts the "Interior Dirt Protect" feature for easy cleaning and maintenance.
The oven is designed for efficient 2-level cooking using hot air convection, allowing for simultaneous preparation of multiple dishes. Its 300°C high-heat capability ensures quick and delicious cooking. The 5-inch color touch panel enhances usability, and the "Interior Dirt Protect" feature simplifies cleaning.
Furthermore, the convection unit has been thinned, reducing the depth to 39.9cm. This allows for placement directly against walls on the back, left, and right sides, optimizing space efficiency.
The "Vertical Panel & Wide Interior" design, known as "Raku Posi Style," offers improved visibility, ease of operation, and accessibility for placing and removing dishes.

Market Trends and Product Positioning
In response to the growing trend of single-person and small-household living, there is increasing demand for compact 26L ovens, rather than larger 30L models. However, existing compact models often fall short in meeting user needs for functionality and performance.
The new ER-D4000B addresses this gap by offering the same high-level features found in premium, larger models, but within a compact 26L footprint. This new lineup aims to satisfy consumers seeking both compactness and advanced cooking capabilities.
Key Features of the New Product
-
300°C High Heat with Hot Air Convection: A First for 26L Models
The 26L compact model is equipped with a 2-level hot air convection oven, enabling simultaneous cooking of multiple dishes and ensuring even baking, producing fluffy bread. The rapid heating function, compared to traditional top-and-bottom heater ovens, can reduce preheating time to 200°C by approximately 40%. The "Stone Kiln Auto Bake" feature simplifies cooking by allowing users to select the main ingredient (beef, pork, chicken, fish, vegetables), and the oven automatically adjusts temperature and cooking time for optimal results.
Comparison of Preheating Time to 200°C:
- Hot Air Convection Oven ER-D4000B: Approx. 40% shorter heating time.
- Top-and-Bottom Heater Oven ER-D90B: Standard heating time.
Croissant Puff Comparison:
- Hot Air Convection Oven ER-D4000B: 40 mm puff.
- Top-and-Bottom Heater Oven ER-D90B: 32 mm puff.

Large Color Touch Panel and "Interior Dirt Protect" for Enhanced Usability and Easy Cleaning
The oven features a 5-inch large color touch panel, similar to Toshiba's top-tier ER-D7000B model, providing intuitive operation. Users can easily check recipes and cooking instructions without needing a separate manual. The "Smart Damper Door" ensures a quiet closing action by automatically slowing down just before the door fully closes.
The interior is coated with a water- and oil-repellent ceramic material, "Interior Dirt Protect," to prevent stains. Additionally, a "Dry Course" helps reduce condensation and residue after steaming, further enhancing ease of maintenance.

Space-Saving Design: 39.9cm Depth and "Perfect Fit" Installation
Unlike conventional hot air convection ovens that require more depth for their heating elements and fans, the ER-D4000B's thinned convection unit achieves a compact depth of 39.9cm. This allows for flush installation against kitchen walls on the back and sides, making it ideal for kitchens with limited space.

Seamless Flat Face with Single-Pane Glass for a Refined Aesthetic
Toshiba has achieved a seamless, flat glass front, a design challenge for vertical panel ovens where the display can get hot. By incorporating a dedicated small cooling fan and optimizing airflow, they've created a sleek, integrated look. The handle design is also streamlined for a refined appearance, and the operation buttons are hidden when not in use, blending harmoniously with the kitchen environment.

"Raku Posi Style": Easy Viewing, Operation, and Dish Removal
The "Raku Posi Style" combines a vertical control panel, which offers better viewing angles and easier operation, with a wide interior cavity measuring 39.7cm. This wider opening allows for effortless removal of large dishes.

Other New Product Lineup
In addition to the ER-D4000B, Toshiba is also launching the ER-D90B and ER-D70B (26L models) featuring the "High Angle Infrared Sensor" for accurate surface temperature detection, and the ER-60B (23L model) with a backlight LCD for improved visibility. All three models incorporate the "Vertical Panel & Wide Interior" "Raku Posi Style," extending this user-friendly design across eight models in Toshiba's oven range, from entry-level to standard.
