Environmentally friendly washing
? Tip:
- Utilize the maximum load capacity for programs to minimize energy and water consumption relative to load size.
- Use the program for small, lightly soiled loads when appropriate.
- Modern detergents allow washing at lower temperatures (e.g., 70°F/20°C), saving energy.
- Washing at low temperatures or using liquid detergents can lead to bacteria and odor build-up. Miele recommends monthly cleaning using the "Sanitize" or "Clean Machine" program.
Preparing the laundry
Steps
- Empty all pockets. ⚠️ Damage due to foreign objects: Nails, coins, paper clips, etc., can damage garments and machine components. Check laundry and remove foreign objects.
- Sort laundry by color and care label. Most garments have a care label in the collar or side seam.
- Pre-treat stains and heavily soiled areas.
Selecting a program
There are three ways to select a program:
1. Standard programs via program selector dial
Turn the program selector to the required program. The selected program appears in the display, then reverts to the standard display.
2. Additional programs via "Additional programs/" and display

CapDosing
If [CapDosing] was selected, detergent is dispensed via a capsule for that program.
Using powder detergent
Remove the insert for liquid detergent in compartment 1 to use powder detergent. Powder detergent cannot be used in compartment 1.
Using chlorine bleach
⚠️ Damage due to chlorine bleach: Textiles may be discolored or fibers damaged. Use only on suitable textiles. Chlorination must be activated in settings before first use. Pre-wash option must not be selected. Pour max. 1/4 cup (60 ml) into compartment 1. Bleach is added automatically 10 minutes before the end of the main wash.
6. Start the program
Touch the flashing [Start/Add laundry] sensor button. The door locks, and the program starts. Program status appears in the display.
Adding laundry during a program
Laundry can be added or removed anytime if the [Add laundry] symbol is NOT illuminated. Touch the [Start/Add laundry] sensor button. Display shows "Please wait". Wait for "Door can be opened" to light up. Open door, add/remove laundry, close door. Touch [Start/Add laundry] sensor button to continue.
