Installation Requirements
General
The tumble dryer must be connected to a power supply compliant with all appropriate local and national legislation and regulations, including those from utilities and occupational safety standards.
Refrigerant Safety (R290)
The R290 refrigerant is flammable and explosive. In case of damage:
- Avoid naked flames or sparks.
- Disconnect the dryer from the electrical supply.
- Ventilate the room.
- Contact Miele Customer Service.
Protect the dryer from damage and do not make alterations.
Operating Conditions
Ambient Temperature: +2 °C to +35 °C.
Adequate room ventilation is essential, especially in small rooms, as expelled air is warm. Avoid high room temperatures; switch off other heat-producing appliances if necessary to prevent increased running times and energy consumption.
Electrical Connection
The dryer is supplied with a mains cable and plug. Connection must be to an electrical system conforming to national and local codes (e.g., BS 7671 in the UK). Do not use extension cables or power strips to avoid fire risk.
Ensure the data plate specifications match the power supply. For hard-wired appliances, a dual circuit breaker with a minimum 3 mm all-pole contact gap is required. The isolator switch or plug must be easily accessible and lockable if the appliance is disconnected.
All new connections, system modifications, or earthing conductor servicing must be performed by a qualified electrician.
Condensate Drain Hose
Condensed water is pumped away via a drain hose at the back of the dryer. The drain pump has a 1m delivery head. Ensure the hose is free of kinks for proper drainage.
A non-return valve (optional accessory) may be required to prevent water flowing back into the dryer, which could cause damage.
Drainage Options:
- Direct connection to a plastic drain pipe: Use a non-return valve if the hose end might be submerged.
- Connection to a washbasin: Use a plastic nipple and always a non-return valve.
- Connection to a floor drain (gully): Always use a non-return valve.
- Directed into a sink or basin: Secure the hose carefully to prevent slipping. Use a non-return valve if the hose end might be submerged.
Equipotential Bonding
If required, equipotential bonding with good galvanic contact must be ensured according to local and national installation specifications. Connection material can be provided on-site or via Miele Customer Service.
Peak Load/Energy Management (SLA)
The dryer can connect to peak-load or energy management systems via an optional kit. When activated, the heating is deactivated, and a display message is shown.
Payment System (KGA)
A single-machine payment system can be fitted using an optional kit (XCI-Box / XCI-AD). Programming is done during initial commissioning; subsequent changes require Miele dealer or Customer Service intervention.
Interface (XKM)
An APCL106 communication module can be fitted for WiFi or LAN interface. The LAN connection complies with SELV (Safety Extra Low Voltage) and uses an RJ45 connector.
Appliance Dimensions and Clearances
The following dimensions and clearances are recommendations for easier service work. If installation space is limited, the machine can be pushed up against the wall.
Dimensions

Plinth Installation
The dryer can be installed on a plinth (optional Miele accessory: open or box plinth) or a site-provided concrete plinth. The concrete quality and strength must be assessed for the appliance load. Raised plinths must be adequately bonded to the floor.
Anchoring (B): Miele plinths require specific fasteners. For site-provided plinths, anchor points are needed. Wood screws (8x65 mm) and Rawl plugs (12x60 mm) are specified for anchoring.
Plinth Floor Anchoring: For on-site plinths (concrete/masonry), a minimum footprint of 600/650 mm (W/D) is recommended. Wood screws (6x50 mm) and Rawl plugs (8x40 mm) are specified.
Washer-Dryer Stack
The dryer can be stacked with a Miele washing machine using a stacking kit (optional accessory), requiring professional installation. Stacking on a Miele plinth is not permitted. The washing machine is secured with a supplied bracket.
Dryer Stack with 2 Tumble Dryers
Two Miele tumble dryers can be stacked using a stacking kit (optional accessory), requiring professional installation. Stacking on a Miele plinth is not permitted. The bottom dryer must be secured with 2 tensioning strips (optional accessories) at the front/rear or rear only to prevent slipping or tipping.
