  2. A local isolator switch capable of disconnecting all poles with at least 3mm contact separation must be provided.
  3. Ensure the mains supply (Voltage, Frequency, and Phase) matches the rating label.
  4. Use only with appropriate Vent-Axia products and fixed wiring.
  5. When used in rooms with fuel-burning appliances, ensure adequate air replacement.
  6. Do not use where subject to direct water spray for prolonged periods.
  7. For ducted installations handling moisture-laden air, fit a condensation trap and ensure ducts slope downwards away from the fan.
  8. This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities, or lack of experience, unless supervised.
  9. Young children should be supervised to ensure they do not play with the appliance.
  10. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children.

Installation

Siting the Transformer (SELV Models only)

The transformer must not be installed in a shower cubicle or enclosure. Site it away from direct water spray, out of reach (1.5m) of bath/shower users, away from direct heat sources (ambient temperature range 0℃ to 40℃), and not in areas with excessive grease.

Panel/Ceiling/Interior Wall Mounting

  1. Cut a 105mm diameter hole.
  2. Loosen the grille screw, then carefully remove the grille.
  3. Mark screw centres from the fan back plate, drill, plug, and screw into position. Attach ducting.
  4. Wire the fan as per Section B-Wiring. Adjust settings as per Section C-Setup.
  5. Ensure the impeller rotates freely after installation.
  6. Replace the grille and tighten the screw.

Exterior Wall Mounting

  1. Cut a 117mm diameter hole, insert and slope the wall sleeve downwards away from the fan. Cement ends flush with wall faces.
  2. Fix the exterior grille with louvres facing downwards.
  3. Loosen the grille screw, then carefully remove the grille.
  4. Mark screw centres from the fan back plate, drill, plug, and screw into position.
  5. Wire the fan as per Section B-Wiring. Adjust settings as per Section C-Setup.
  6. Ensure the impeller rotates freely after installation.
  7. Replace the grille and tighten the screw.

Window Mounting

Refer to the kit instructions provided.

Wiring

⚠️ WARNING: THE FAN AND ANCILLARY CONTROL EQUIPMENT MUST BE ISOLATED FROM THE POWER SUPPLY DURING INSTALLATION OR MAINTENANCE.

Important Wiring Notes:

  1. Select and follow the appropriate wiring diagram (Fig. 1-6).
  2. Check all connections are correct and terminals/wires are securely fastened.
  3. Ensure the impeller rotates freely and is unobstructed.

Wiring Diagrams Description:

Setup (Commissioning)

Accessing the commissioning menu requires removing the grille. The control board is visible (Fig. 7). Do NOT isolate the fan from the power supply, as configuration requires power. Removing the grille stops the impeller.

⚠️ IMPORTANT: Do NOT attempt to remove the circuit board cover (Fig. 7). It covers the high voltage power supply.

Using the Control Buttons:

Three buttons are located below the display:

Commissioning Menu Structure:

The menu options appear in the following order:

* Display rotation only affects screen orientation; button functions remain consistent.

** Menu lock: When locked, a code is required to access the menu.

*** Lock code: A 3-digit hexadecimal code (0-F) to set the menu lock. Default override code is 999.

Settings Summary:

ModeTrickleBoost 1Boost 2Boost time
Kitchen6-16 L/s30 L/s60 L/s1-30 minutes
Bathroom6-16 L/s18 L/s30 L/s1-30 minutes

Installation Selection: Choose between Kitchen/Bathroom and Ducted/Window/Wall modes. Ducted mode compensates for system pressure. Boost speeds are higher for kitchen applications.

Boost Time: Adjustable from 1-30 minutes (default 15 minutes). Activated by Live Switch (LS) or Pullcord.

Humidity Level Trigger: Adjustable from 50% to 90% RH.

Comfort Mode:

In Comfort Mode, the fan waits 5 minutes after LS input before boosting, preventing nuisance noise. Boost continues as long as LS is on, plus the set overrun time. This mode does not affect pull-cord operation.

Lock Feature (Revive 5 & Revive 7):

Prevents unauthorized menu adjustments. Set a 3-digit hexadecimal code. If enabled, pressing a button shows '---'. Enter the code using ➕/➖ and ✖️ to navigate digits. Incorrect codes require restarting.

Setup Example:

Example 1: Kitchen installation, through-wall, 15 min boost, 60% RH set point, not in comfort mode.

Example 2: Changing settings to Bathroom and ducted modes.

Example 3: Changing boost time from 15 to 18 minutes.

Pull Cord and Data Logger

Pull Cord Function:

? PullBoost 1PullBoost 2PullTrickle

The pull-cord activates boost levels sequentially. It can also cancel an LS-activated boost. The pull-cord activates the boost time set in the menu. The fan returns to trickle speed after the timeout.

Data Logger (Revive 5 & Revive 7):

With the fan powered up, removing the cover activates the display. Holding the Mode button for 5 seconds opens the data logger menu.

Data Examples:

A further 5-second press of the Mode button returns to the commissioning menu.

Servicing, Maintenance, and Troubleshooting

Servicing and Maintenance:

⚠️ WARNING: THE FAN AND ANCILLARY CONTROL EQUIPMENT MUST BE ISOLATED FROM THE POWER SUPPLY DURING MAINTENANCE.

  1. Periodically inspect and clean the fan to prevent dirt build-up.
  2. Wipe inlets and front face with a damp cloth.

The fan has sealed-for-life bearings and requires no lubrication.

Troubleshooting:

  1. Fan continuously runs in boost:
    • Cause: Room is damp/recently redecorated, or humidity set point is too low.
    • Solution: Allow up to 2 weeks for humidity to stabilise in damp/newly decorated rooms. Adjust humidity set point higher (See Section C).
  2. Fan does not boost when humidity is high:
    • Cause: Humidity set point is too high.
    • Solution: Adjust humidity set point lower (See Section C).
  3. Water dripping from fan in ceiling installation:
    • Cause: Condensation forming inside ducting and dripping from the fan inlet.
    • Solution: This is normal. A condensation trap fitted after the fan can help prevent dripping into the room.
