Attaching and Removing Accessories
To attach an accessory, remove the accessory cover by unscrewing the locking screw anti-clockwise. The cover can be stored safely. Plug the accessory into the socket and carefully tighten the locking screw clockwise until finger tight. Avoid over-tightening or using any tools.
To remove an accessory, unscrew the locking screw by hand in an anti-clockwise direction. Ensure the accessory socket cover is refitted after removing the accessory, as the radio is not submersible without this cover in place.
Battery Information
Battery Charging
- Connect the AC adapter to the charger pod and plug it into a power source.
- Turn the radio off.
- Insert the battery pack into the charger pod, with or without the radio attached. The charger LED status light will turn red, indicating charging has begun.
- When charging is complete, the charger LED status light changes from red to green. A fully discharged battery pack typically takes approximately 3 hours to recharge.
A flashing red LED on the charger indicates a problem with the battery. Remove the battery from the charger and consult your Entel Dealer.
Caution: Battery Pack Precautions
- Do not recharge the battery pack if it is already fully charged, as this may reduce its lifespan.
- After charging is complete, remove the battery from the charger. If the power to the charger is turned off and then on again, charging may restart and the battery could become overcharged.
- Ensure the radio is turned off before placing it in the charger. Never switch a radio on while it is in the charger.
- Only use Entel branded battery packs and chargers.
- Do not short the battery terminals or dispose of the battery in a fire.
- Do not charge the radio and/or battery pack if they are wet.
Danger: Do Not Disassemble or Modify the Battery in Any Way!
Entel battery packs incorporate a safety circuit to prevent danger. If this safety circuit is damaged or bypassed, or if the battery cells are damaged directly, they may generate extreme heat, smoke, rupture, and emit flames.

Switching On, Reception, and Switching Off
- To switch on, press and hold the on/off button (1) on the front of the radio.
- When the radio passes its diagnostic tests, it will emit a fanfare tone.
- The radio enters standby mode, indicated by the LED flashing amber once every 5 seconds, signaling it is ready for use.
- Adjust the volume control (2) to select the desired volume level.
- Use the channel buttons (3) to ensure the correct channel is selected.
- When receiving a valid signal, the LED will illuminate steady green, and audio will be emitted from the radio's speaker or an attached audio accessory.
- When finished using the radio, switch it off by pressing and holding the on/off button (1) until the radio beeps and the LED/LCD is extinguished.
Transmitting
- Perform steps 1 through 5 from the "Switching On, Reception, and Switching Off" section.
