Care & Maintenance
Battery Replacement
The battery type is 1 x 3.2 V 1500 mAh 18650 LiFePO4. It is crucial to replace the battery only with the same or an equivalent type.
- Disconnect the battery from the converter.
- Remove the old battery.
- Install the new battery.
- Connect the new battery to the converter.
Self-Test and Testing Record
The luminaire is equipped with an automatic self-test function. A weekly 1-minute function test checks battery connection and LED module integrity. A yearly 3-hour duration test also verifies battery and LED module connections. A manual test button is available for on-demand inspection.
Test Button Operation:
- Press for <2 seconds: Simulates emergency mode.
- Press for 3-5 seconds: Starts a duration test manually. The test can be aborted by pressing the OFF button (1-2 seconds).
- Press for 5-8 seconds: Starts a 60-second function test manually. The test can be aborted by pressing the OFF button (1-2 seconds).
- Press for >10 seconds: Resets the timing functions.
Indicator Status Descriptions:
- Green (Permanent on): Indicates normal status when mains power is connected.
- Green (Slow flash, 1s on/1s off): Indicates the duration test is running.
- Green (Fast flash, 0.2s on/0.2s off): Indicates the function test is running.
- Green (Normal flash three times only): Indicates a time reset has occurred.
- Red (Permanent on): Indicates battery failure during normal operation or function test.
- Red (Slow flash, 1s on/1s off): Indicates lamp failure during function test and duration test.
- Red (Fast flash, 0.2s on/0.2s off): Indicates battery incapacity during the duration test.
- Both Off: Indicates the unit is in emergency mode.
Important Note: In non-maintained mode, a lamp failure typically shows a green indicator. This indicator will turn red during a weekly functional test. Any failure indication status should be checked and rectified as soon as possible.
Initial Test Procedure: When the fitting is first powered on, press the manual test button to perform an initial test. With mains power connected, the green indicator should remain permanently on, confirming battery and LED module connections.
Charging and Testing Requirements: For accurate testing, luminaires must be connected to the mains supply for at least 24 uninterrupted hours. If mains power is switched off during a test, the test will be postponed for 3 days and will automatically initiate after 24 hours of charging.
Timing Accuracy: The timing functions have an accuracy of ±75 seconds per week and will be retained through power supply failures or interruptions for up to 7 days.
