02. Installation Steps
Step 1: Prepare the Truck Bed
Check the contents of the carton against the parts list. There are 3 Factory Bolts located under the truck rail on each side. Unscrew these Factory Bolts from the truck bed. A T30 head is required to remove the Factory Bolts.
Step 2: Clean and Apply Seal Strip
Wipe and clean the tonneau cover before installation. If there is a gap between the front and side of the bulkhead, adhere the seal strip (D) to the front bulkhead and align both ends equally.
If your truck bed has grooves, cut the seal strip to the appropriate shape and size, then stick it into the groove to enhance waterproofness.
Step 3: Place Tonneau Trap
Place the Tonneau Trap on the bed front rail.
Step 4: Place Side Rails
Place the side rails (B and C) on each side of the truck bed rail.
Step 5: Secure Side Rails
Place one side rail (B or C) onto the truck bed, sliding it into the channel of the cover assembly (A). Proceed to tighten the set screws on both corners to secure the connection. Repeat this process for the other side.
Ensure correct orientation: Do not install it wrong.
Step 6: Assemble Clamp Assembly
Bolt the Upper Clamp to the Lower Clamp. Add washers for Upper Clamp height adjustment purposes. Do not tighten the bolt at this stage.
Step 7: Attach Clamps to Rails
Attach the Upper Clamp to the Side Rail and screw the lower clamp onto the truck bed using the Factory Bolt (removed in Step 2). Ensure the Upper Clamp groove sits firmly on the inner rib of the Side Rail. Adjust the Upper Clamp height by adding or reducing bolt washers for proper attachment.
Step 8: Check Rear Bar Alignment
Roll the Tonneau Tarp to the truck tailgate. Check that the Plastic Knob on the Rear Bar can lean against the Side Rail Locking Base (located on the rear end of the Side Rail). To properly secure the cover, the gap between the side rail and locking clip must be less than 1/16 inch. If the gap is too large, the cover may bounce; adjust the position of the side rails accordingly.
Step 9: Tighten Clamp Bolts
Tighten the Clamp Bolts once the Side Rails are properly adjusted. Then, tighten all screws.
Step 10: Lock Rear Bar
Roll the Tonneau Tarp to the tailgate. Push down the Rear Bar, then close and lock the Rear Bar. Note: Keep the tailgate open while closing and locking the rear bar.
Step 11: Open the Cover
To open the cover, open the truck bed tailgate. Pull the handle in the middle of the cover's Rear Bar to unlock it. Roll the entire cover towards the front of the truck bed and secure the rolled tarp using the buckles.
Tension Control System
To adjust the tension, loosen the two screws on each tension control system. Slide the mechanism forward or backward according to the scale. Adjust only one increment at a time.
Adjustment steps:
- Loosen the screw
- Slide the plate
03. Cleaning and Maintenance
CLEANING
- Clean the cover and vehicle in a shaded place like under a tree or in an open garage.
- Flood the cover with water to remove surface grit that will scratch the finish when wiped.
- Wash the cover with cool, clean water and a mild soap. Use a hose, rinse the cover well, making sure to remove all traces of soap and wipe off excess water using a sponge.
- Hose down the entire truck to prevent soap from streaking your truck's paint finish. Do not use chemicals like detergents, dish washing liquids, bleaches, harsh cleansers, strong cleaners, dry-cleaning solvents, or any other strong chemicals as a cleanser.
- Using a white all-cotton towel, wash the entire cover with the cleaner. Never spot clean the cover to avoid rings or bright spots on the product. Make sure that you only use a soft cotton cloth or sponge as a cleaning tool.
- Do not use rough, abrasive cleaning pads because these can scratch the vinyl, creating pores that allow dirt and other unwanted particles to stick.
- Do not use vinyl protectants that contain petroleum, silicone, or citrus-based additives.
WARNING-CARE OF THE COVER TARP
Do not use cleaners for plastic or detergents. Clean the tarp with neutral soap and water.
