- BEND: Shifts keyboard pitch up (clockwise) or down (counterclockwise).
- TUNE: Fine adjustment of keyboard pitch.
- GLIDE: Controls the rate of change from one note to the other.
Oscillators Section:
- FT (Foot): Sets the oscillator's pitch.
- WIDTH %: Controls the width of the oscillator's sound.
- WAVEFORM: Selects the waveform shape (Sine, Sawtooth, Square, Noise, Random, ENH).
Filter Section:
- FREQ.: Sets the filter cutoff frequency.
- Q: Controls the filter width (for bandpass and notch filters) or the filter slope (hi- and lo-pass filters).
- FILTER: Selects filter type (LO, BAND, NOTCH, HI).
Envelope Generators Section:
- VCA ENV: Controls the overall level over time.
- CONTROL ENV: Controls the filter envelope.
- ATTACK: Controls the speed of the note onset.
- DECAY: Controls how quickly the note volume decays.
- SUSTAIN LEVEL/REPEAT: Controls the baseline volume of the note while the key is held and the repeat rate.
- HOLD: Sustains the note indefinitely.
Control OSC. Section:
- FREQ.: Adjusts the speed of the control oscillator.

Getting Started
This guide will help you set up and briefly introduce the capabilities of the WASP DELUXE analog synthesizer.
Overview
The WASP DELUXE is a USB Class Compliant MIDI device, requiring no driver installation for Windows and MacOS.
Connection
Refer to the hook-up diagrams provided earlier in this document for system connections.
Software Setup
No additional drivers are required for Windows and MacOS.
Hardware Setup
- Make all system connections.
- Set the WASP DELUXE to a unique MIDI channel using the rear panel MIDI switches.
- Connect an external MIDI keyboard directly to the WASP DELUXE MIDI IN 5-pin DIN input.
- Apply power using the supplied adapter. Ensure your sound system is turned down before powering on the WASP DELUXE.
Warm Up Time
Allow at least 15 minutes for the WASP DELUXE to warm up before recording or live performance. This allows the analog circuits to reach their normal operating temperature for tuned performance.
Oscillators Section and Mix Controls
The WASP DELUXE features two oscillators, a Noise generator, and an external source input. Use the MIX controls to adjust the volume of each source for your desired mix. Start by adjusting Oscillator 1's volume, then the others, and finally the main volume in the OUTPUT section.
Control OSC. Section
Experiment with the FREQ. and PITCH MOD. controls to alter the speed and pitch of the oscillators. Use the 6-way WAVEFORM switch to apply different control waveforms and observe their effect on the sound.
Filter and Control ENV. Sections
Switch between lo-pass, bandpass, notch, and hi-pass filters. Adjust the cutoff frequency with the FREQ. knob and experiment with the filter contour and slope using the Q knob. The CONTROL ENV. controls the filter; adjust Attack, Decay, and Delay to modify the filter's sound.
Envelope Generators Section
Adjust Attack, Decay, and Sustain to shape the overall level over time. The loudness decay switch affects the decay after a note is released.
Eurorack Installation
The WASP DELUXE can be removed from its chassis and installed into a standard Eurorack case. Refer to the detailed instructions in this manual for the Eurorack installation procedure.
Firmware Update
Check behringer.com regularly for firmware updates. The firmware file includes detailed instructions for the update procedure.
System Exclusive Commands
MIDI System Exclusive (SysEx) commands can be used to change certain parameters on the WASP DELUXE. A MIDI utility like MIDI OX can be used to send these commands via USB MIDI.
SysEx Data Format
The SysEx data format is F0 00 20 32 aa bb cc dd ee ff F7, where each item represents a specific parameter or setting.
Command Table
The command table lists various parameters, their corresponding SysEx data, and default values. This includes settings for MIDI Channel, Key Priority, Pitch Bend, Poly Chain, and more.
Poly Chain Style
Tables are provided to show the difference between old and new poly chain styles and their corresponding note responses.
Retriggering Style
Examples illustrate the difference between old and new retriggering styles.
Command Examples
Examples of SysEx command strings for various functions are provided, along with a decimal to hex conversion table and MIDI Transpose values.
