Before Using the Dishwasher / Connections
1. Removal of Packaging and Inspection
After removing packaging, check the dishwasher for transit damage and ensure the door closes correctly. If in doubt, contact a qualified technician or retailer. Keep packaging materials away from children as they can be hazardous. The dishwasher has undergone factory testing, which may leave slight water marks that will disappear after the first wash.
2. Electrical and Hydraulic Connections
All water supply and electrical connections must be made by qualified personnel according to the manufacturer's instructions and local safety regulations. Refer to the separate installation instructions booklet. The dishwasher is designed for domestic use only. Do not operate if there are signs of transit damage; contact After-Sales Service or your local dealer.
3. Water Inlet and Drain
Observe local Water Board regulations. Water supply pressure should be between 0.05 - 0.9 MPa. Ensure inlet and drain hoses are kink-free and not crushed. If hoses are too short, contact your dealer. The inlet hose must be securely connected to the water tap. Inlet water temperature varies by model: "25°C Max" marked hoses up to 25°C; other models up to 60°C. Ensure the drain water discharges freely (remove sink siphon gauze if necessary) and secure the drain hose to the siphon with a hose clip. For appliances with a water-stop system, correct installation prevents water leaks.
4. Electrical Connection
Comply with local electricity board regulations. Voltage information is on the rating plate inside the door. The appliance must be earthed by law. Do not use extension leads or multiple socket adapters. Always unplug the appliance before maintenance. Damaged power cables must be replaced by a qualified technician with an identical part from After-Sales Service. For models with LCD displays, the mains plug must remain accessible after installation. In Austria, if connected via a fault current circuit breaker, it must be sensitive to pulsating current.
EC Declaration of Conformity
This appliance complies with EC Directives 73/23/EEC, 89/336/EEC, and 93/68/EEC.
Load Capacity
12-13-14 place settings (depending on the model).

How to Fill the Salt Container
If your water hardness level is 1-2 (medium) or higher, fill the salt container with regeneration salt before use. Contact your local water supplier or check your bill to determine water hardness. The dishwasher has an electronic control system to adjust the water softener based on water hardness.
Setting the Water Softener
To set the water hardness, press and hold the PROGRAMME SELECTION BUTTON for over 15 seconds. The WATER HARDNESS INDICATOR will flash, and the SELECTED PROGRAMME INDICATOR LIGHTS will show the current setting. Each press of the button cycles through the settings.
Water Hardness Settings:
Water Hardness | German degrees (°dH) | French degrees (°fH) | mmol/l | Clarke/English degrees (°eH) | Setting (Indicator Lights) |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
1 soft | 0 - 4 | 0 - 7 | 0 - 0.7 | 0 - 5.0 | All lights off (no salt) |
1 - 2 medium | 5 - 15 | 8 - 25 | 0.9 - 2.7 | 6.3 - 22.9 | One indicator light on |
2 medium | 16 - 23 | 26 - 40 | 3.8 - 4.2 | 23.8 - 32.3 | Two indicator lights on |
3 medium-hard | 24 - 31 | 41 - 60 | 4.3 - 6.3 | 33 - 43.8 | Three indicator lights on |
4 hard | 32 - 47 | 61 - 80 | 6.5 - 7.4 | 45 - 51.3 | Four indicator lights on |
5 extremely hard | 48 - 58 | 81 - 100 | 8.7 - 10.6 | 52 - 64 | Five indicator lights on |
How to Fill the Salt Container
Warning: Use only regeneration salt for domestic dishwashers. Do not use unsuitable substances like detergent, as this can damage the water softener system.
- Remove the lower rack.
- Unscrew the cap by turning it counter-clockwise.
- For first-time use only: fill the container with water to the brim.
- Fill the salt container to the brim with regeneration salt using the funnel. (First fill: min. 1.5 kg, max. 1.7 kg). Stir with a spoon handle.
- Screw the cap back on by turning it clockwise.
- Replace the lower rack.
- If adding salt, immediately start a wash program (pre-rinse is insufficient) to flush out any excess salt solution and prevent corrosion.
Salt Level Indicator
The dishwasher has an electric or visual salt level indicator.
- Electric Indicator: A control panel light illuminates when the salt container is empty.
- Visual Indicator: A float is visible in the cap window when the salt container is full. The float lowers and becomes invisible when salt needs refilling.
How to Fill the Rinse Aid Dispenser
Rinse aid aids drying and prevents spots and streaks on crockery. Fill the dispenser before first use with rinse aid recommended for domestic dishwashers.
- Unscrew the cap (A) counter-clockwise.
- Pour rinse aid into the container up to the "max" line (approx. 140 cc). Clean up any spills immediately to prevent excess suds.
- Close the cover.
Regularly check the rinse aid level.
How to Adjust the Rinse Aid Dosage Regulator
The factory setting is medium. If washing or drying results are unsatisfactory, adjust the dosage:
- Unscrew the cap (A).
- If dishes show whitish streaks, reduce dosage by turning dial (B) to a lower setting. If dishes are not perfectly dry, increase dosage by turning dial (B) to a higher setting.
- Close the cover.
Rinse Aid Level Indicator:
- Visual Indicator: Light color means add rinse aid; dark color means sufficient rinse aid.
- Electric Indicator (if provided): A control panel light illuminates when more rinse aid needs to be added.
How to Fill the Detergent Dispenser
Only use detergents recommended for domestic dishwashers. Fill the dispenser just before starting a wash program.
- Press button (C) to open the cover.
- Filling the Detergent Dispenser:
- Programs with pre-wash: Pour 2/3 of the recommended detergent quantity into compartment (A) and 1/3 into compartment (B) for powder or liquid detergents. For tablets, place one tablet in compartment (A) or follow detergent pack instructions.
- Programs without pre-wash: Pour the entire recommended detergent quantity into compartment (A) for powder, liquid detergents, or tablets.
- Programs with "Half load/Multizone" function: Detergent dosage can be reduced by 1/3 for powder or liquid detergents.
- Close the cover.
Detergent Usage
Use good quality liquid or powder dishwasher detergents or tablets (do not use hand dishwashing detergents). For environmental protection, follow manufacturer's directions, do not overuse detergent, and observe safety warnings. Keep products out of reach of children.
For tablet detergents, follow manufacturer's instructions. For multi-action detergents (incorporating rinse aid and regeneration salt):
- Products with integrated rinse aid work best with specific programs.
- Products that do not require regeneration salt are suitable only for certain water hardness levels.
Read product descriptions carefully. Contact the detergent manufacturer if in doubt. The guarantee does not cover faults caused by the use of these products.
