Unplug your modem's power, then connect the modem to the router's WAN port using an Ethernet cable.Diagram Description: A diagram illustrates the initial router setup. It shows an Internet source labeled 'Internet' connecting to a 'Modem' via 'DSL or Cable'. The Modem is then connected to the 'Router's' 'WAN' port using an 'Ethernet Cable'. A 'Power Adapter' is shown connecting to the Router and an electrical outlet. An arrow indicates to 'Flip to the next page to continue with the setup'.
  2. Step 2: Power on the modem. Turn on the modem and wait approximately 2 minutes for it to restart.
  3. Step 3: Power on the router. Connect the power adapter to the router and plug it into an electrical outlet. Turn the router on.
  4. Step 4: Continue setup. Flip to the next page to continue with the setup process.

Note: If your Internet connection comes from an Ethernet outlet, connect the router's WAN port directly to it and proceed to setup method 2 or the Access Point Mode section.

Access Point Mode: For extending an existing network, refer to the Access Point Mode section on the back page.

Set Up Your Router

Method 1: Via Web Browser

  1. Connect your device to the router.
    • Wireless: Enable WLAN on your smart device or PC. Find and join the default SSID (e.g., "MyWiFi_XXXXXX") printed on the router's label.
    • Wired: Use an Ethernet cable to connect your computer to one of the router's LAN ports.
  2. Connect the router to the Internet.

Launch a web browser and navigate to http://speedefywifi.com or 192.168.3.1. A login page will appear.

The router will attempt to detect your connection type automatically (e.g., DHCP). If detection fails, manually select your connection type (DHCP, PPPoE, or Static IP) and follow the on-screen instructions of the Quick Setup Wizard.

Method 2: Via Speedy WiFi App

  1. Download the Speedy WiFi App. Search for "Speedy WiFi" on the App Store or Google Play, or scan the provided QR code (QR codes are excluded from output).Screenshots illustrate setting up via the Speedy WiFi App. One shows the app store pages for downloading the app. Another shows a smartphone connecting to the default WiFi network 'MyWiFi_XXXXXX'.
  2. Connect your smartphone to the router. Connect your smartphone to the default SSID printed on the router's label.
  3. Launch the App. Open the Speedy WiFi App. It will automatically detect your connection type. Follow the in-app instructions to complete the Internet setup.

FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)

Q1: What connection type to choose if the router failed to detect automatically?
  • PPPoE: Use if your ISP provided a PPPoE username and password.
  • DHCP: Obtain IP address automatically. Use if your ISP does not provide specific credentials.
  • Static IP: Enter configurations provided by your ISP if you have a static IP address.
Q2: Why cannot I access the Internet after installing the router?
  • Check Internet access by connecting a computer directly to the modem. If no access, contact your ISP.
  • Ensure the router's WAN port is correctly connected to the modem and the indicator light is active.
  • For wired devices: Confirm PC connection to a LAN port and ensure PC is set to obtain IP and DNS automatically.
  • For WiFi devices: Reboot the router and reconnect. If issues persist, factory reset the router and repeat setup.
Q3: Why cannot I access the web management page?
  • Ensure your computer's IP address is set to obtain automatically.
  • Disable any proxy servers or VPN software.
  • Disable and re-enable your computer's network adapter.
  • Verify the URL (http://speedefywifi.com or 192.168.3.1) is entered correctly.
  • Try a different web browser or reboot the router.
Q4: How to register an account in Speedy WiFi App?
  • Recommended: Sign in using a Third-Party login (e.g., Gmail, Apple ID).
  • For email registration: Enter email and password, then click Register. Check your mailbox (including Junk/Spam) for an activation email and click the link. Use common email providers like Outlook, Gmail, or Yahoo if registration fails.
Q5: Why my download speed cannot reach the advertised speed rate?
  • 2.4GHz WiFi offers lower speeds than 5GHz WiFi. Wired connections are generally faster than wireless.
  • Check for multiple users consuming bandwidth; consider limiting their speed or blocking them via the router settings.
  • Verify your ISP's speed plan. Actual speeds may vary due to transmission loss.
  • Position the router centrally with antennas upright for optimal wireless performance.
  • Use a Cat5e Ethernet cable or better for connecting the modem to the router's gigabit port.
