1. Components

This illustration shows series models MR-FC263EP. The main components are:

2. Installation

Install on a completely flat and rigid surface. Level the refrigerator using the levelling leg. Ensure a 2-cm space on the sides, 10-cm space on top, and 5-cm space behind the refrigerator for proper ventilation and heat radiation.

Choose a location not exposed to direct sun, dust, heat, or humidity, with good ventilation.

Use in hot spring areas: Corrosion control treatment may be required for the refrigerant circuit due to corrosive gases. Contact the retail store.

WARNING: Do not obstruct refrigerator vents. If refrigerant leaks, it may accumulate and catch fire or explode.

How to remove the energy label

Carefully remove the energy label. For glue residue, apply Eucalyptus or Tea Tree oil, let it sit for 1-2 minutes, wipe with a damp cloth, rinse with clear water, and dry thoroughly. Avoid oil contact with plastic parts.

WARNING: Do not damage the refrigerant circuit (pipes) or drive screws into it. While R600a refrigerant is combustible, the circuit is hermetically sealed. If damaged:

  1. Do not use flames or electrical appliances nearby.
  2. Open windows to ventilate the room.
  3. Contact the retail store.

3. Electrical Connections

Important: For personal safety, this appliance must be properly grounded. Plug into its own individual electrical outlet. Avoid extension cords. Ensure the outlet provides the correct voltage.

If your refrigerator has a grounding plug, use a mating 3-pin grounded receptacle. If not, have a proper 3-pin grounding wall receptacle installed. Never cut or remove the ground point.

If your refrigerator has an ungrounding plug, connect the ground wire to the ground connection screw provided at the lower rear side.

4. Operation

1. Temperature Control

Both freezer and refrigerator compartments have a temperature controller. "MID" is recommended for normal usage.

For the freezer: Turn to "COLDER" for large quantities of frozen food or ice cream. Turn to "COLD" if only using the freezer to make ice.

For the refrigerator: Turn to "COLDER" to make items colder. Turn to "COLD" if items are too cold or freezing.

2. Automatic Defrosting

The refrigerator performs automatic defrosting. Water produced passes through a drainage hose at the rear, collects in a drain pan, and evaporates with heat from the radiator.

3. Ice-making

Pour water up to the water line in ice tray sections. Insert the tray completely. If too much water is added, ice cubes are hard to separate. Turn the lever to release ice cubes into the storage box. Do not attempt to make ice directly in the storage box, as it may break.

4. Sliding Case

This sliding case is cooled to a low temperature to preserve food freshness. CAUTION: Ensure the sliding case is pushed all the way in before closing the refrigerator compartment door.

Sliding Case Removal: Remove by pulling the case out all the way, holding and lifting the edge upwards. The method depends on the door opening angle (approx. 135° or 90°).

5. Door Racks

Door racks are useful for storing small items, freeing up space for larger items. The 'Free Pocket with Egg Tray' can store many eggs or be inverted to store small items. The 'Bottle Pocket' is for bottles, stored at an angle for easy access.

6. How to Remove the Pockets

Remove door racks by pushing gently upwards.

7. Vegetable Case

Humidity of the vegetable compartment can be adjusted using the humidity control slider (LOW to HIGH).

8. How to Remove the Vegetable Case, Shelf, and Cover

Remove the vegetable case, shelf, and case cover by pulling them forward.

5. Maintenance

Ensure the power plug is disconnected before maintenance. Dip a soft cloth in cold or lukewarm water, wring it out, and wipe. Clean the door gasket regularly to prevent damage.

CAUTION: Do not use cleansers, acids, benzine, thinner, boiling water, soap powder, chemical cloths, or neutral detergent, as they can damage the paint finish and external surfaces.

CAUTION: Do not apply water directly onto the refrigerator, as this may cause malfunction, power leakage, or fire.

How to Replace the LED Light

If the LED light is damaged or malfunctions, please contact the service center instead of attempting self-repair.

6. What to do in these situations

When there's a power failure

Minimize opening/closing doors and avoid adding more food.

When not in use for a long time

Clean the ice cube box and ice tray, clean the interior after unplugging, and keep the door open for 2-3 days to dry. Failure to dry properly can lead to mold, odors, or refrigerant leaks due to cooling unit corrosion.

When transporting

  1. Discard water/ice from ice cube box and tray.
  2. Use protective gear (gloves).
  3. Place towels under the water discharge outlet and back corners, and a container on the floor to catch water.
  4. Slowly tilt the refrigerator back over 30 degrees to discharge evaporator tray water through the water discharge outlet.
  5. Transport with 2 or more people, grasping the front lower section legs and back upper section outer shell. Do not lay or load on its side, as this can damage the compressor.

WARNING: Do not damage the refrigerant circuit or drive screws. The unit uses flammable refrigerant; leaks pose a risk of ignition or explosion.

7. Troubleshooting

When the refrigerator fails to operate

Check for power failure, ensure the power cord is plugged in, and check the fuse/circuit-breaker.

When the refrigerator is cooling excessively

The temperature control dial may be set too high. Placing moist foodstuffs directly under cool air outlets can cause freezing.

When you hear a sound similar to flowing water

This is the sound of refrigerant (cooling gas) flow and does not indicate a malfunction.

When noise is produced by the fan grill

Noise from the fan grill stops at a certain temperature. The airflow cooling system is powered by the fan motor and grill.

When noise is produced while the refrigerator door is open

Plastic components may switch between hot and cold, producing noise. The noise may persist until the temperature difference is reduced after closing the door.

When the refrigerator is not cooling sufficiently

Check if food is packed too tightly, blocking airflow. Avoid placing hot or too many items inside. Ensure the door is closed properly, the door gasket is not damaged, ventilation is adequate, and there is sufficient clearance around the unit. Check the temperature control dial setting.

When the front of the refrigerator cabinet heats up

An anti-condensation pipe heats the front of the cabinet when actuated. This is normal and indicates no malfunction. It actuates more often with frequent door opening/closing or after installation.

When condensation forms on the exterior of the refrigerator

Condensation may form in high humidity (e.g., wet season). This is normal, similar to condensation on a cold glass. Wipe dry with a cloth.

When the power plug is disconnected and reconnected, and the compressor ceases to rotate

If the compressor does not restart immediately after plugging in, wait at least 5 minutes before plugging in again. Keep the refrigerator unplugged if the compressor ceases to rotate completely, then wait 5 minutes before plugging in again.

When the side panel of the cabinet heats up

Side panels may heat up during frequent door use, installation, or in high summer temperatures. This is due to heat dissipation and does not indicate a problem. Do not touch the panel.

CAUTION

Ambient Temperature Use

This appliance is designed for use in ambient temperatures between 16°C and 43°C (Climatic Class T).

Internal temperatures can be affected by appliance location, ambient temperature, door opening frequency, and temperature control settings.

Storage Life

A rise in frozen food temperature during defrosting, maintenance, or cleaning could shorten storage life.

Food Freezing

Do not place food to be frozen in direct contact with other stored food. Reduce the quantity to be frozen if freezing daily is anticipated.

Power Failure

A 1-2 hour power failure has minimal effect. Frequent door opening during a power failure causes temperature loss. For power failures over 24 hours, remove food.

Long-term Unuse

If the fridge is unused for three weeks or more, unplug and clean it.

Important Warnings

The appliance is not intended for use by unsupervised young children or infirm persons. Ensure children do not play with the appliance.

WARNING: Do not use mechanical devices or other means to accelerate defrosting, other than those recommended.

WARNING: Do not use electrical appliances inside food storage compartments unless recommended.
