MAHLE X Active Charger Quick Guide

General Information

The MAHLE SmartBike X Active Charger features CAN BUS communication for fast charging. It includes an LED indicator for charging status and an optional wall mount. Consult your dealer or supplier for system protection and to avoid short circuits.

Safety Precautions

Before Charging

• Connect the charger directly to a power source; never use extension cords.
• Avoid reverse charging.
• Do not use non-rechargeable batteries, as they can overheat and break.
• The Active charger is not intended for charging automobile batteries.
• Inspect the charger, wire, and plug for damage before each use. Do not cover the charger while in operation.
• Regularly inspect the battery. Never charge a battery suspected of damage or known to be broken.
• Ensure the charging socket and plug are dry before connecting and charging.
• If the eBike or battery are very cold, allow them to warm up before charging.
• Keep the connector clean. Do not use if any connection is damaged.

Important Safety Information

• The charger is designed for indoor use only. Do not expose it to rain or snow.
• Misuse of other battery types can cause explosions, leading to personal injury and damage.
• Do not incinerate, disassemble, or short-circuit batteries.
• Replace batteries if their performance decreases substantially.
• Store the charger in a cool, dry place when not in use.
• Disconnect the power supply before making or breaking connections to the battery.

General Warnings

• Explosive Gases: Prevent flames and sparks. Ensure adequate ventilation during charging.
• The battery must be placed in a well-ventilated area during charging.
• This charger is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless supervised or instructed by a responsible person. Supervise children to ensure they do not play with the charger.
• Children aged 8 and above, and persons with reduced capabilities or lack of experience, may use the charger if supervised or instructed on safe usage and understand the associated risks.
• Children must not play with the charger.
• Cleaning and user maintenance must not be performed by unsupervised children.

Recommendations for Use

• For long-term storage, keep the battery charged around 50% (between 40%-70%).
• Use only indoors.
• Recommended operating temperatures: -15°C to 35°C.
• Do not submerge or expose to water.

Charging Instructions

1. Connect the AC wire to the charger.
2. Connect the charger to the charging port on the eBike.
3. Connect the charger to the power source.
4. Once charging is complete, disconnect the charger from the power source before disconnecting it from the eBike.

CAUTION: When the battery is fully charged, disconnect it from the charger within 8 hours.

CAUTION: Only use adapters for other socket types if the National Electric Supply (AC) is compatible with the Active charger's voltage.
