7. Buttons
- CHANNEL Selector (1,2,3): Slide the switch to set Channel 1, 2, or 3.
8. Battery Installation & Setup
Remote Sensor:
- Open the battery compartment of the remote sensor.
- Slide the channel selector switch inside the battery compartment to your desired channel. For the first remote, select any channel; for additional remotes, select any unused channel.
- Insert 2 x AAA batteries according to the polarity markings. Replace the battery compartment cover.
Base Station:
- Open the battery compartment at the back of the base station.
- Insert 2 x AAA batteries according to the polarity markings. Replace the compartment door.
NOTE: Do not mix old and new batteries. Do not mix alkaline, standard (carbon zinc), or rechargeable (nickel cadmium) batteries. For maximum performance, good quality alkaline batteries are recommended. A low battery icon will appear on the base station display if the battery power is low.
9. Synchronize Remote Sensors with the Base Station
Each time batteries are replaced or connection is lost, follow this process to pair and re-connect the base station and remote sensor:
- Position the remote sensor near the base station.
- Once batteries are installed in the base station, the RF signal icon (located on the upper center of the base station display) will flash for 3 minutes, indicating synchronization mode.
- If 3 minutes pass and the RF signal icon is no longer flashing, press and hold the CHANNEL/SYNC button on the base station for 3-4 seconds until the RF signal icon flashes again to re-enter synchronization mode.
- Install batteries in the remote sensor and wait a moment, or press the TX button inside the remote sensor battery compartment. The remote sensor's temperature/humidity will then display on the base station, indicating synchronization is complete.
- For additional remote sensors, repeat the above steps to register them (up to 3 remote sensors can be registered with one base station).
- If more than one sensor is registered, press the CHANNEL/SYNC button on the base station to select the remote channel you want displayed permanently. Press CHANNEL/SYNC until a circular arrow appears on the base station LCD display. The unit will then auto-scroll through channels every 5 seconds. Press CHANNEL until the circular arrow disappears to stop cycling.
10. Place the Base Station & Remote Sensor
- The indoor base station (receiver) should be placed in a well-ventilated indoor area, away from vents, heating or cooling elements, direct sunlight, windows, doors, or other openings.
- The remote sensor (transmitter) can be placed on a flat surface indoors or outdoors. Ensure the sensor is within the transmission distance from the base station and with minimal obstructions.
- The base station and remote sensor can both be wall mounted.
11. Maximum & Minimum Recorded Temperature & Humidity
- Press the MAX/MIN/CLEAR button once to display the highest indoor and outdoor temperatures/humidity recorded since the last reset. MAX will be shown on the display.
- Press the MAX/MIN/CLEAR button again to display the lowest indoor and outdoor temperatures/humidity recorded since the last reset. MIN will be shown on the display.
- To clear and reset the max/min records, press and hold the MAX/MIN/CLEAR button for 3 seconds when either MAX or MIN is shown on the LCD display.
- When MAX or MIN is shown on the LCD display, press the ALL-TIME/24 button once to set the data record interval between ALL TIME or 24 hours. Note: Both ALL TIME and 24 hours represent the time since the history data was last manually cleared or battery installation.
12. Purchasing Additional Remote Sensors
The model number for additional remote sensors for this unit is TX-2B. Additional sensors can be ordered directly from Amazon or ThermoPro by contacting customer service.
13. Hints & Tips
If the receiver does not connect to the transmitter, try the following:
- Press and hold the CHANNEL/SYNC button on the base station, then press the TX button on the transmitter.
- Relocate the base station and the remote unit until a connection is found.
- Signals from other electronic devices may cause interference. Place the base station and receiver away from these devices.
- The transmitter may not function properly in extreme temperatures due to battery power. Replace the batteries or wait for more moderate weather for the unit to resume proper function.
- If the base station is placed on a refrigerator or metallic object using the magnet, transmission may be shorter. Remove the station from the refrigerator/object or place it as close as possible to the remote sensor.
- If the humidity level is below 10%, the screen will display LLL. Move the sensor closer to the base station.
