Models RR-35 and RRS

Remote Reset Module and Remote Reset Station (for use with System 3)

Operation

The Siemens Model RR-35 Remote Reset module enables a System 3 alarm condition to be reset to Standby remotely. Alarm conditions can also be reset using the CP-35 Control Panel RESET switch.

System 3 utilizes a BC-35 battery backup configuration. The supplied interconnecting cable, part number 600-191771, must be used for connections.

The Model RRS Remote Reset station features a single gang plate with a normally closed, key-operated, spring return reset switch.

Installation and Wiring

Refer to the Connection Diagram (Figure 1) and Figure 2 for the installation and wiring of the RR-35/RRS into a System 3 configuration.

For detailed wiring information, consult the System 3 Wiring Information Field Assembly of Modules document, part number 315-085178.

Figure 1: Connection Diagram Description

This diagram illustrates the wiring for the RR-35 module and the RRS Remote Reset Station. The RR-35 module includes a terminal block (TB1). Terminals 1 and 2 are for the 24V, 35mA standby power supply, which drops to 0mA during an alarm condition. Terminals 3 and 4 are connected to 1K2 relay contacts, shown in a normally energized state, rated for 30 VDC at 5A resistive; these are marked "DO NOT USE" in this configuration. Terminals 5 and 6 are for the Model RRS Remote Reset Station connections. These connections are supervised, power-limited, rated for 24 VDC at a maximum of 100mA total connection run, with a line resistance limit of 3 Ohms maximum. The RRS station itself contains a normally closed, key-operated, momentary break system reset switch.

Figure 2: System Interconnection Diagram Description

This diagram depicts the interconnections within the Siemens System 3, focusing on the RR-35 Remote Reset Module and its integration with the system's battery backup. It shows connections between the CP-35 Control Panel, the BC-35 Battery Backup module, and the RR-35 module. The CP-35 connects to additional modules via port P3. The BC-35 connects to the CP-35 via port P2 and to the RR-35 via port P1. The RR-35 connects to the BC-35 via port P1 and also has a port labeled P2. A cable identified as P/N 600-191771 CABLE connects the BC-35 and RR-35. Another cable, P/N 600-285016 CABLE, connects the CP-35 to a PS-35 module. The diagram highlights: "SYSTEM 3 RR-35 REMOTE RESET MODULE INTERCONNECTIONS WITH SYSTEM BATTERY BACKUP PROVISION."
