Philips EPIQ Ultrasound System Model Designations
Philips EPIQ Ultrasound systems are categorized using specific model designations for positioning purposes:
- CVx, CVxi (v3.x and higher): These are premium models tailored for cardiology, offering the widest selection of options and transducer choices. They supersede the 7C model.
- Elite (6.0 and higher): Optimized for General Imaging, these models replace the 7G and 7W models.
- "7" (v1.x - v3.x): This premium model provides the most extensive options and transducer choices.
- "5": This designation indicates the same physical system and software as other models but with fewer features and/or transducers.
In conjunction with the 5 and 7 designations (excluding CVx and CVxi), the following qualifiers are used:
- "G": Optimized for General Imaging, Shared Service, and Radiology use.
- "C": Optimized for Cardiology use.
- "W": Optimized for Women's Healthcare use.
All EPIQ systems, regardless of configuration, utilize identical analysis packages and measurement libraries. For instance, the Adult Echo SR from EPIQ CVx is the same as that from EPIQ 7C. Philips provides a single DICOM Conformance Statement that encompasses all EPIQ and Affiniti models. Sample SR datasets and related documentation are accessible via the Data Portal.
Please note that not all configurations support all DICOM SR Templates. The support matrix is detailed in the following table:
