Our Business

Canon Inc., a Japanese corporation, is the parent company of the Canon Group, which operates across four industry units: Printing, Imaging, Medical, and Industrial. The Group develops, manufactures, and sells a wide range of products, including MFDs, printers, cameras, and medical equipment. Canon Europe serves as a regional headquarters for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA), while Canon UK is a marketing and sales subsidiary.

Supply Chain

Canon Inc. emphasizes manufacturing and component production at its global sites. The supply chain involves numerous suppliers worldwide, from whom components and materials are sourced. Canon Europe and Canon UK primarily source imaging products and consumables from Canon Inc., supplemented by regional suppliers for printing paper, packaging, and commercial products. The company also sources various services from EMEA-based suppliers.

Our Policies and Code of Conduct

Canon's corporate philosophy of 'kyosei' underscores its commitment to human rights. The Canon Group Human Rights Policy, established in 2021, aligns with international standards and outlines the group's commitment to due diligence, grievance mechanisms, and awareness training. The Canon Group Code of Conduct, updated with regional considerations for EMEA, sets standards for executives and employees. The Canon Supplier Code of Conduct, based on the Responsible Business Alliance (RBA) Code of Conduct, guides procurement activities and promotes social responsibility in the supply chain.

Supplier Evaluation and Monitoring

Canon employs a robust supplier evaluation system, including new supplier qualification checks and annual evaluations, covering areas such as corporate ethics, environmental conservation, and human rights. The company utilizes RBA-approved Self-Assessment Questionnaires (SAQs) for major suppliers and conducts online meetings and site visits to verify compliance. Canon is committed to continuous improvement in its supply chain and works collaboratively with suppliers to address identified risks.

Training and Ongoing Monitoring

Canon provides mandatory Modern Slavery training for new recruits and offers refresher courses for existing employees. Human rights awareness training programs are also in place across the Group. Canon continuously monitors compliance with its Human Rights Policy through risk management and governance structures, regularly reviewing its identification and assessment methods for human rights due diligence.
