Natural substrate for any aquarium
Key Features
- Ideal for all bottom-feeding animals. JBL Sansibar Black is a fine, rounded, dark sand of volcanic origin. It is gentle on the sensitive barbels of bottom-feeding fish such as cory catfish and loaches.
- The black substrate prevents light reflections, making easily frightened fish feel visibly more comfortable and display their full natural brilliant colors.
- Ideal for plant care. The fine grain size and dense layering prevent sludge and other debris from seeping in, thereby preventing decay processes which could hamper plant growth. For magnificent plant growth, JBL recommends JBL AquaBasis plus as a permanent nutrient substrate with JBL Sansibar Black as a top layer.
- Enhances the color contrast of the plants and fish in your tank.
- Water neutral: JBL Sansibar Black does not release hardness-producing substances or undesired silicates into the tank water.
Application
- JBL Sansibar Black is pre-cleaned, so it only needs to be rinsed briefly in tap water prior to use.
- When filling the aquarium with water, pay attention not to stir up the substrate.
- To calculate the amount of Sansibar Black required for your tank (with a layer thickness of 5 cm): Length (cm) x Width (cm) / 140 = kg of Sansibar Black.
- Suited for all freshwater aquariums. Safe for saltwater and terrariums.
