Controller Overview
The RAIDER RD-EPC04 is an electronic pressure controller with a digital display. It allows users to set start/stop pressure values via a control panel, intelligently detecting water pressure and flow to manage the water pump. This controller can replace traditional pressure tanks in water supply systems.
Functional Overview:
- Offers 2 working modes, easily switchable via the control panel.
- The display shows real-time pipeline pressure, allowing users to preset start/stop pressures.
- Features current overload protection.
- Includes pipeline water pressure over-high protection.
- Detects water shortage and implements automatic restart when water is detected.
Interface Description:
Indicator Lamps:
- Power: Always green indicates power is connected; always green and flickering indicates the motor is running.
- AUTO-MODE: Indicator light is always on in automatic mode, and goes off in manual mode.
- Failure: Always red indicates overload, water shortage, overpressure, or sensor abnormal faults.
Key Description:
- SET: Used for product resetting and setting operation modes.
- '+' / '-': Used with the 'SET' button to adjust function parameters and modes.
- RUN: Indicator lamp for automatic mode operation.
General Rules for Safe Work
When using electric tools, follow these basic safety precautions to reduce the risk of burns, electric shocks, and injuries:
- Read all instructions before operating.
- Keep your workplace clean and well-lit.
- Do not use in rain or damp/wet environments.
- Avoid contact with earthed surfaces (water pipes, radiators, etc.).
- Keep children and unauthorized persons away from the work area.
- Store unused instruments in a dry, locked place.
- Use the appropriate tool for the job.
- Do not attempt to make small instruments perform tasks of larger ones.
- Ensure the power socket is secure and in normal working condition.
- Do not use if the power cable or plug is damaged. Repairs must be done by a qualified electrician.
- Do not wear loose clothing or jewelry that could get caught in moving parts.
- Use safety glasses and appropriate protective gear.
- Never hold the tool by the power cord; do not pull the plug by the cord.
- Always work in a stable position and maintain balance.
- Keep tools sharp and clean.
- Periodically check power cords and extension cords for damage.
- Disconnect from the mains when not in use or before servicing.
- Ensure all tools and wrenches are removed before operation.
- Connect the instrument to the network only when the start switch is in the "off" position.
- Use only approved extension cords.
- Always be alert and do not operate when drowsy.
- Check safety devices and parts for proper function before use.
- Do not use tools that cannot be turned on/off by the starter switch.
- Use the device and accessories in accordance with instructions.
Operation Modes
Automatic Mode:
In automatic mode, the start-up pressure is automatically set to 50% of the pump's maximum pressure. This value adjusts automatically. To activate, press and hold the "SET" button for 5 seconds until the AUTO-MODE indicator light turns on.
Manual Mode:
In manual mode, the user can freely adjust the start-up pressure using the "+" and "-" buttons. To activate, press and hold the "Automatic/Manual" button for 5 seconds until the light turns off.
Water Shortage Detection and Protection
If there is no pressure or water flow, the controller identifies a water shortage fault. The failure indicator light flashes red. The unit switches to protection mode, turning off the pump until water flow is detected. If the shortage continues, it will cycle through short operating periods (e.g., 30 seconds on, 1 minute off) before a longer shutdown (30 or 60 minutes). Once water flow is detected, the cycle time is cleared.
Installation
- Install the controller before the pipeline outlet (or tap).
- Mount vertically with the water outlet pointing upwards.
- The pressure difference between the faucet outlet and the controller should not exceed the set start-up pressure.
- Do not install a tap between the water pump and the controller.
- When using near swimming pools, an automatic RCD with 10n=30 mA protection is mandatory.
Wiring Diagrams: Electrical connection diagrams are provided within the manual for correct installation.
Troubleshooting
Refer to the following table for common issues:
| Type of Failure | Device-Related | Not Device-Related |
|---|---|---|
| Pump does not start | - Electronic board damaged | - Power failure - Pump blockage - Reversed electrical cables (line/motor) |
| Pump does not stop | - Electronic board damaged - Flow detector blocked |
- Leaks higher than minimum flow rate |
| Constant pump operation | - Electronic board damaged - Pump does not provide enough pressure |
- Leaks lower than minimum flow rate |
| Pump is blocked | - Electronic board damaged - Pump provides pressure lower than restart pressure |
- Lack of water - Suction problems |
