Safety Conditions

Read the content of this manual carefully before first use. It is recommended to keep this instructions manual for future reference.

1. Connect the connection cord to a socket which complies with the specification provided in the manual.
2. Always disconnect the appliance from the mains by pulling the plug, not the power cord.
3. Disconnect the appliance from the mains whenever it is not used or before cleaning it.
4. Do not immerse the cord or the appliance in water.
5. Do not hang the cord on sharp edges and do not let it touch hot surfaces.
6. Do not use in open air.
7. Do not use nearby inflammable materials such as furniture, bedding, paper, clothes, lace curtains, linings etc.
8. Do not leave children without care nearby the appliance parts of the appliance become hot when the appliance is being used.
9. You should hold the appliance only by the handgrip.
10. Be careful when taking out the sandwiches. Ready made sandwiches are hot and can burn.
11. Do not leave the appliance unattended when it is being used.
12. The device can be used by children aged 8 and older and by persons with limited physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or persons without sufficient experience and knowledge only under supervision or if previously instructed on the safe use of the appliance and the possible risks. Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning and maintenance that are the responsibility of the user shall not be carried out by children without supervision. Protect the appliance and the power cord against children under 8 years old.
13. Pay attention to make sure that the appliance is not played with by children.
14. Do not carry or move the appliance when it is being used.
15. Do not cover the appliance when it is being used.
16. Do not put any products in metal foils into the appliance.
17. Do not grasp the appliance with wet hands.

General Description

The Ideal IK1601 Waffle Maker has the following components:

• 1. Indicator lights A and B
• 2. Lid
• 3. Heating plate
• 4. Handgrip
• 5. Interlock handle

Setting Up the Appliance

Before using the appliance, ensure that the appliance, plug, and power cable are in good technical order and all packaging materials have been removed.

• Before the first use, all parts of the appliance that come into contact with food must be thoroughly washed (see: Cleaning and maintenance).
• A specific smell may be sensed during the first use, which results from the production process. This is a normal process and will disappear over time. Ensure proper ventilation in the room, for example, by opening a window.
• The first use of the appliance should be without products.

Use

• Position the device on a level, stable, and high-temperature resistant surface.
• Wipe the heating plates with a damp cloth.
• Oil the plates slightly with butter, margarine, or oil to prepare them for making waffles.
• Close the lid and secure the handle with the interlock.
• Plug in the appliance. The operation of the appliance is signaled by the indicator light (1A).
• Control light (1B) signals when the waffle maker is heated and ready for operation.
• Open the lid and pour the batter so that it does not spill out of the heating plate.

Warning: When placing the dough on the bottom heating plate, make sure the baking mould is completely filled. During the baking process, excess dough may flow out of the appliance.

• Gently close the lid and secure the handle with the interlock.
• Bake waffles for 2-6 minutes. The baking time depends on the type of cake, the expected baking level of waffles, and the number of waffles in the waffle maker.
• It may happen that, during the baking process, the operating lamp (1B) briefly turns off and then lights up again. This indicates that the adjusted temperature has dropped, causing the appliance to automatically reheat to the programmed temperature.
• Open the waffle iron to check if the waffles are sufficiently baked or browned. If the waffles are not ready, re-close the waffle iron and let them bake for a little longer.

Warning: Steam escapes from the sides of the appliance during cooking – risk of burns.

• Before preparing the next waffles, always close the cover to maintain the required temperature.
• After baking the last waffle, remove the plug from the mains power socket and allow the appliance to cool down with the lid open.

Note: When removing the waffles, be careful not to accidentally damage the coating of the baking surfaces. To avoid this, use only wooden or heat-resistant plastic implements.

Useful Tips

• Mix all ingredients together uniformly to ensure a consistent level of browning.
• Never lay crisply baked waffles on top of each other, as this causes them to become soft quickly. To keep them crispy, lay them next to each other on a kitchen grill.

Cleaning and Maintenance

• Disconnect the appliance from the mains and let it cool down before cleaning.
• Do not immerse any part of the appliance in water or other liquids.
• First, wipe the cooking plates with paper towels to remove grease.
• Then, clean the appliance and the cord gently with a damp cloth.
