Introduction
The Adesso NuScan 5200TR is a 2.4GHz wireless barcode scanner, offering compatibility with a wide range of 1D and 2D barcode symbologies. It is the wireless counterpart to the NuScan 5200TU. Featuring a built-in USB receiver within its cradle, the NuScan 5200TR provides a plug-and-play experience. It supports major 2D barcodes like PDF417, Data Matrix, QR, and Micro QR. Constructed with waterproof and antimicrobial materials, the scanner can be cleaned regularly for enhanced hygiene. Its rugged design includes a 7-meter drop protection, making the NuScan 5200TR a versatile barcode scanning solution.

The NuScan 5200TR supports a comprehensive list of 1D barcode symbologies including: UPC-A/E, EAN13/8, Code 128, GS1-128, Code 39 (Plain & Full ASCII), Code 93, Code 11, Code 25 (ITF/Industrial/Matrix/IATA Standard), Codabar, MSI/MSI Plessey, GS1 DataBar.
Requirements
- An Available USB Port
Installation
- Ensure your computer is powered OFF before installing the scanner. [Power OFF symbol]
- Connect the detachable USB cable to the USB port on the bottom of the cradle.
- Plug the other end of the USB cable into a USB port on your computer.
- Turn ON your computer. The cradle will be automatically recognized by your computer. The cradle contains an integrated 2.4GHz USB receiver that charges the scanner and transmits data.
- Press the trigger on the scanner. A beep will confirm the scanner is ready for use.
Note: Use text editing software (e.g., MS WORD, Excel, Notepad) or POS/inventory software to display scanned barcode information. These programs are not included.
Charging
- When the scanner is not in the charging cradle, the cradle's LED charging light blinks GREEN.
- When the scanner battery is low and placed in the cradle, the LED charging light remains ORANGE.
- When charging is complete, the LED charging light remains GREEN.
Usage Tips
Scanning Angle: To avoid scanning difficulties caused by specular reflection (light bouncing directly back from the barcode label), do not hold the scanner directly over a barcode at a 90° angle. Instead, tilt the scanner approximately 60° forward or backward. Experiment to find the optimal angle for successful decoding.
Maintenance
The primary maintenance required is cleaning the scan window. A dirty window can impact scanning accuracy. Gently wipe the scanner window with a lens tissue or a suitable optical cleaning material.

Limited Warranty
Adesso provides a one-year limited warranty for its products against defects in materials and workmanship. During this period, Adesso will repair or replace any defective product. This warranty does not cover products subjected to improper handling, abuse, negligence, incorrect installation, or unauthorized repairs. It also excludes products installed with non-Adesso approved components or products with broken seals. To claim warranty service, return the defective product freight-prepaid to Adesso with a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number clearly marked on the package. Include your name, shipping address (no PO Boxes), telephone number, and a copy of the invoice as proof of purchase.
