Thank you for purchasing the WIRELESS REMOTE CONTROL for our room air conditioner.
This user manual contains important safety instructions. Please read this manual carefully before operation to use the unit properly. Keep this manual in a safe place for future reference. If the unit is transferred to another owner, be sure to hand over this manual and the installation instructions. It is not recommended that a user install the unit at their own discretion or relocate it. Doing so may compromise safety or functionality.

1. Before Operation (VOR DER INBETRIEBNAHME)

Please read the following safety instructions carefully to operate the unit properly. These safety instructions must be followed without exception, as they are a prerequisite for safe unit operation.

Keep this manual in a secure location where it is accessible at all times. Present this manual to the technician who will move or repair the unit. If the unit is transferred to another owner, hand over this manual to the new owner.
Electrical work must only be performed by qualified professionals.
WARNING: Commission a professional company for the installation of the unit. Improper installation by the user can cause electric shocks, fire, or the unit to fall.
Contact a professional company if the unit needs to be moved, disassembled, or repaired.
Never modify the unit. Improper handling can lead to injuries, electric shocks, fire, etc.
Avoid flammable substances (hair spray, insecticides, etc.) near the unit.
Never clean the unit with gasoline or thinner. Otherwise, cracks may form, posing a risk of electric shock or fire.
Stop operation in abnormal circumstances. Otherwise, unit failure, electric shock, fire, etc., may occur. In case of abnormal circumstances (e.g., burning smell), stop operation, turn off the power switch, and consult a professional company.
The unit may only be used by children aged 8 and above, persons with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities, inexperienced persons, or persons unfamiliar with the unit, if they are supervised or have been instructed on the safe operation of the unit and the existing hazards.
CAUTION
The unit and the remote control are not toys. Improper operation can lead to illnesses or health problems.
Never disassemble the remote control. If internal components are accidentally touched, there is a risk of electric shock or malfunctions. Consult a professional company if an inspection of the internal components is required.
Do not clean the remote control with water or other liquids. Otherwise, it may lead to electric shock, fire, or unit failure.
Do not touch electrical components, buttons, or displays with wet hands. Otherwise, it may lead to electric shock, fire, or unit failure.
Do not dispose of the remote control yourself. Otherwise, the environment may be damaged. Consult a professional company if the remote control needs to be disposed of.
Note
Do not expose the remote control to direct sunlight or ambient temperatures above 40°C or below 0°C. Otherwise, it may cause deformation, discoloration, or unit failure.
Do not clean the remote control with gasoline, thinner, cleaning cloths, etc. Otherwise, it may cause discoloration or unit failure. Dampen a cloth with a neutral cleaning solution, wring it out well, and clean the unit with it. Then, wipe dry with a dry cloth.
Do not touch the buttons and display of the remote control with sharp objects. Otherwise, it may cause damage or unit failure.
Safety Measures for Waste Disposal
This product for the air conditioner may be marked with this symbol. It indicates that electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE under Directive 2012/19/EU) should not be treated as normal household waste. Air conditioners and their associated products should be handed over to an authorized collection point for disposal, recovery, and recycling, and not disposed of with general waste. 2. Names and Functions of Remote Control Buttons (BEZEICHNUNGEN UND FUNKTIONEN DER FERNBEDIENUNGSTASTE)
Display Panel and Backup Switch
Diagrams are provided for different unit types: Ceiling Mount (FDE), 4-Way Ceiling Cassette (FDT), Compact 4-Way Ceiling Cassette (FDTC), 1-Way Ceiling Cassette (FDTS), RCN-KIT4-E2, 2-Way Ceiling Cassette (FDTW), Stand Unit (FDFW), Wall Mount (FDK).
Key components described:
- Remote Control Signal Receiver: Receives signals from the remote control.
- Error Mode Display (PRÜFMODUS-ANZEIGE): Displays malfunction status with symbols when an error occurs.
- Backup Switch: Allows starting and stopping the air conditioner if the remote control is missing or defective.
- TIMER/CHECK-LED (Yellow): Indicates Timer is active (solid light) or malfunction/filter signal (blinking).
- RUN-LED (Green): Indicates operation (solid light), "HEATING PREPARATION" (blinking), or signal received (triple blink).
- CHECK1-LED / CHECK2-LED: Indicate error codes (tens or units digit).
- FILTER-LED (Red): Lights up when the filter needs cleaning.
- AIRFLOW SELECTION SWITCH: Switches between standard and upper airflow.
Wireless Remote Control - Display Area (Anzeigenbereich)
The LCD display shows various information:
- 1. Operating Mode Display: Shows the selected operating mode (AUTO, COOL, FAN, DRY, HEAT).
- 2. Set Temperature Display: Shows the set temperature.
- 3. Sleep Timer Display: Shows the remaining time for the sleep timer.
- 4. Indoor Function Setting Display: Shows the setting number for indoor functions.
- 5. Fan Speed Display: Shows the selected fan speed.
- 6. Vertical Airflow Display: Shows the vertical flap position.
- 7. Horizontal Airflow Display: Shows the horizontal flap position (RCN-EK2 only).
- 8. Clock Display: Shows the current time. When a timer is active, it displays the set ON and OFF timer times.
- 9. ON/OFF Timer Display: Appears when a timer is set.
- 10. ECO Mode Display: Appears when Energy Saving Mode is active.
- 11. High Power Operation Display: Appears when High Power Mode is active.
- 12. Night Setback Display: Appears when Away Mode is active.
- 13. Silent Mode Display: Appears when Silent Mode Forts. is active.
- 14. Motion Sensor Display: Appears when IR Sensor Control (motion sensor control) is activated.
- 15. Diffuse Airflow Setting Display: Appears when Diffuse Airflow Setting is activated.
- 16. Child Lock Display: Appears when Child Lock is activated.
Remote Control Buttons (Betriebsbereich)
- ON/OFF Button: Starts or stops the unit.
- MODE Button: Cycles through operating modes (AUTO, COOL, FAN, DRY, HEAT).
- TEMP Button: Adjusts the temperature.
- FAN SPEED Button: Adjusts fan speed (1, 2, 3, 4, AUTO).
- U/D Button: Adjusts vertical airflow direction.
- L/R Button: Adjusts horizontal airflow direction (RCN-EK2 only).
- 3D AUTO Button: Activates/deactivates 3D AUTO mode (RCN-EK2 only).
- ON TIMER Button: Sets the ON timer.
- OFF TIMER Button: Sets the OFF timer.
- SELECT Button: Sets the time for timer settings or clock adjustment.
- SET Button: Confirms selection for timer settings or clock adjustment. Holding SET activates Child Lock.
- CANCEL Button: Cancels timer settings.
- SLEEP Button: Sets the sleep timer.
- ECO Button: Starts/stops Energy Saving Mode.
- HI POWER Button: Starts/stops High Power Mode.
- SILENT Button: Starts/stops Silent Mode Forts.
- NIGHT SETBACK Button: Starts/stops Away Mode.
- FILTER Button: Resets the filter indicator.
- FUNCTION SETTING Switch: Sets indoor functions.
- TIME SETUP Switch: Sets the current time.
- ACL Switch: Resets the microcomputer.
3. Operating Instructions (GEBRAUCHSANLEITUNG)
Attention
Power on the indoor and outdoor units six hours before operation to protect the compressor. Operate the remote control slowly and steadily.
Guidelines for Room Temperature Settings
- COOL: 26 to 28°C
- DRY: 26 to 28°C
- HEAT: 22 to 24°C
- FAN: Temperature (TEMP) does not need to be set.
Operation
- Press the ON/OFF button. The green operation indicator light turns on, and operation starts.
- Press the MODE button to cycle through modes: AUTO, COOL, FAN, DRY, HEAT.
- Press the TEMP button to adjust the temperature.
- Press the FAN SPEED button to adjust fan speed (1, 2, 3, 4, AUTO).
- Press the U/D button to adjust vertical airflow direction.
- Press the L/R button (RCN-EK2 only) to adjust horizontal airflow direction.
Notes on Airflow
The movement of the air flap may not match the display; this is not an error. During heating preparation or defrosting, the air flap moves to a horizontal swing mode to prevent direct exposure to cold air. If diffuse airflow is selected, the airflow will be horizontal.
Attention
Do not direct the swing flap downwards for extended periods in cooling mode, as condensation may drip.
The operating mode can also be changed when the air conditioner is not running.
To operate the unit with the same settings as before, simply press the ON/OFF button. Previously set parameters (mode, etc.) will be displayed on the remote.
- Press the 3D AUTO button (RCN-EK2 only) to activate/deactivate 3D AUTO mode, which automatically adjusts fan speed and airflow direction for efficient room cooling. Note: Changing airflow direction in 3D AUTO mode will deactivate it.
- Press the ECO button to start/stop Energy Saving Mode. In this mode, performance is automatically adjusted based on outdoor temperature. Default settings are 28°C for cooling and 22°C for heating.
- Press the HI POWER button to start/stop High Power Mode (cooling or heating). This mode quickly brings the room temperature to a comfortable level, operating at accelerated performance for 15 minutes before returning to normal. Note: Using a central control unit may override High Power Mode settings.
- Press the SILENT button to start/stop Silent Mode Forts., which operates the outdoor unit as quietly as possible.
- Press the NIGHT SETBACK button to start/stop Away Mode, which prevents significant temperature fluctuations when you are away. Default settings are provided, but can be changed.
STOP
Press the ON/OFF button.
Note: If connected to a central control unit or wired remote, functions locked by those units may not be locked on the wireless remote.
4. Setting the Current Time (EINSTELLUNG DER AKTUELLEN ZEIT)
The timer operates based on the current time, so it must be set first.
[EXAMPLE] Setting 13:00
- Press the TIME SET UP button. Use a pointed object (like a ballpoint pen) to press the button. The time display will blink, allowing you to set the current time.
- Press the UP (▲) or DOWN (▼) button to set the time to 13:00. Holding either button activates fast scrolling.
- Press the TIME SET UP button again. The display will change from blinking to solid, confirming the setting. (You must press the button within 60 seconds.)
5. Turning On by Timer After Time (EINSCHALTEN DURCH TIMER NACH UHRZEIT)
The air conditioner turns on at the desired time.
[EXAMPLE] The air conditioner should turn on at 8:00 AM
- Press the ON-TIMER button. The "ON-TIMER ON" display will blink.
- Press the UP (▲) or DOWN (▼) button to set the time to 8:00. Pressing the buttons changes the time in 10-minute increments.
- Press the SET button.
- The "ON-TIMER ON" display will change from blinking to solid, confirming the setting. (You must press the button within 60 seconds.)
- The TIMER/CHECK indicator light on the signal receiver will turn on.
- At 8:00, the TIMER indicator light will turn off, and the air conditioner will start operation.
If the ON-TIMER is set while the air conditioner is operating, it will pause and then start again at the set time.
Cancel
Press the CANCEL button to turn off the timer display and cancel the timer.
If the ON/OFF button is pressed before setting the time during timer setting, the timer display will turn off, and the timer will be cancelled.
Change Time
Press the ON-TIMER button again to reset the time.
6. Turning Off by Timer After Time (AUSSCHALTEN DURCH TIMER NACH UHRZEIT)
Operation stops at the set time.
[EXAMPLE] The air conditioner should turn off at 9:00 PM
- With the air conditioner off, press the ON/OFF button. The unit starts operation.
- Press the OFF-TIMER button. The "OFF-TIMER OFF" display will appear.
- Press the UP (▲) or DOWN (▼) button to set the time to 21:00. Pressing the buttons changes the time display in 10-minute increments.
- Press the SET button.
- The "OFF-TIMER OFF" display will change from blinking to solid, confirming the setting. (You must press the button within 60 seconds.)
- The TIMER/CHECK indicator light on the signal receiver will turn on.
- At 21:00, the TIMER indicator light will turn off, and the air conditioner will stop operation.
Cancel
Press the CANCEL button to turn off the timer display and cancel the timer.
If the ON/OFF button is pressed before setting the time during timer setting, the timer display will turn off, and the timer will be cancelled.
Change Time
Press the OFF-TIMER button again to reset the time.
7. Sleep Timer Operation (SLEEP TIMER-BETRIEB)
Operation stops at the set time.
[EXAMPLE] The air conditioner should turn off after 12 hours
- Press the SLEEP button. The OFF-TIMER LED will light up. "1H" will be displayed. The TIMER/CHECK LED on the signal receiver will turn on.
- The display changes each time the SLEEP button is pressed, as shown below. The display changes as follows: 1H → 2H → 3H (in one-hour increments) → 10H → 11H → 12H → Reset Sleep Timer → 1H → 12H. Stopping at 12H will end operation after 12 hours.
Cancel
Pressing the SLEEP button or the CANCEL button will turn off the timer display and cancel the timer.
If the RUN/STOP button is pressed before the set time is reached, the timer display will turn off, and the timer will be cancelled.
Change Set Time
Press the SLEEP button again for re-setting.
8. Timer Programming (TIMER-PROGRAMMIERUNG)
When setting ON and OFF timers, the settings enter the TIMER PROGRAM mode. ON and OFF can be programmed for the same time each day with a single timer programming.
- Setting the ON Timer: Press the ON-TIMER button and set the time using the UP (▲) or DOWN (▼) button. Press the SET button.
- Setting the OFF Timer: Press the OFF-TIMER button and set the time using the UP (▲) or DOWN (▼) button. Press the SET button.
Both ON-TIMER and OFF-TIMER will be displayed. The arrow symbol direction changes depending on the operating status (ON-OFF (stopped), ON OFF (operating)). If the same time is set for ON TIMER and OFF TIMER, "► OFF" is displayed, indicating that the timer programming will stop operation at the same time each day.
Cancel
Each time the CANCEL button is pressed, the ON and OFF TIMER displays turn off, and the TIMER PROGRAM mode is cancelled. (Operating conditions remain the same as before the button press.)
Each time the CANCEL button is pressed, the ON and OFF TIMER displays turn off, and the TIMER PROGRAM mode is cancelled. The air conditioner will stop operation.
Change Set Time
Press the OFF- or ON-TIMER button for re-setting.
9. Indoor Function Settings (INNENFUNKTIONSEINSTELLUNGEN)
(Available only with Master-Wireless Receiver)
This user manual describes how to set the functions of the indoor unit after installation (including turning it on).
1. Setting Indoor Functions
- Press the ON/OFF button to turn off the unit.
- Hold down the FUNCTION SETTING switch and press the desired button from the list in point 2.
- Change the setting using the UP (▲) and DOWN (▼) selection buttons.
- Press the SET button. A beep will sound twice from the signal receiver, and the LED will blink four times at two-second intervals.

Note
If the "Diffuse airflow setting: Activated" is selected, the remote control signal might be interfered with by a diffuse airflow device and may not be received. Therefore, move to a position where the remote control signal can be received.
10. Operation of the Backup Switch (BEDIENUNG DES BACKUP-SCHALTERS)
If the batteries are depleted or the remote control is not functioning or has been lost, you can operate the air conditioner in an emergency using the BACKUP switch on the unit's display area.
Diagrams show the location of the backup switch for various unit types (Ceiling Mount, 2-Way Ceiling Cassette, 4-Way Ceiling Cassette, Compact 4-Way Ceiling Cassette, 1-Way Ceiling Cassette, Stand Unit, Wall Mount, RCN-KIT4-E2).
ON/OFF
- Press the BACKUP switch (described in "2. Names and Functions of Remote Control Buttons" on page 4) and release it after two seconds or less. The air conditioner will start operation.
- Pressing this button again will stop the air conditioner.

11. Checking the Display (ANZEIGE PRÜFEN)
If the following LED blinks or a code is displayed on the panel, there is an error with the air conditioner. Please contact your dealer and provide the "address number and error code," "symptoms of the malfunction," "model type," and "model name" of the air conditioner, etc. Press the ON/OFF button to keep the air conditioner in stop mode.
Diagrams illustrate LED blinking patterns for error codes on various unit types (FDE, FDTW, FDFW, FDK, FDTC, FDTS, RCN-KIT4-E2).
For FDE, FDT, FDTC or FDTS:
- The TIMER/CHECK-LED blinks (0.5 seconds on, 0.5 seconds off), and operation stops.
- The address number is displayed, followed by the error code.
- The error display turns off after the display duration expires.
- If no codes are displayed, use the remote control or press the BACKUP switch.
For RCN-KIT4-E2:
- The RUN/CHECK-LED blinks red (0.5 seconds on, 0.5 seconds off), and operation stops.
- Address number and error code are displayed.
- The error display turns off after the display duration expires.
- If no codes are displayed, use the remote control or press the BACKUP switch.
For FDTW, FDFW:
- The TIMER/CHECK-LED blinks (0.5 seconds on, 0.5 seconds off), and operation stops.
- Only the tens or units digit of the error code blinks on the CHECK 1 or CHECK 2 LED (10 seconds per cycle).
- The LED blinks as shown below to indicate an error code.
For FDK:
- Only the tens or units digit of the error code blinks on the RUN/CHECK1 or TIMER/CHECK2 LED (10 seconds per cycle), and operation stops.
- The LED blinks as shown below to indicate an error code.
12. Filter Signal (FILTERSIGNAL)
If the filter signal LED blinks as shown below, the filter needs to be cleaned.
Diagrams show the blinking filter signal LED for various unit types.
For FDK:
- The TIMER/CHECK2-LED blinks for a long duration (two seconds on, one second off).
- After cleaning the filter, press the FILTER button on the remote control to reset the filter.
For RCN-KIT4-E2:
- The FILTERSIGNAL-LED blinks for a long duration (two seconds on, one second off).
- After cleaning the filter, press the FILTER button on the remote control to reset the filter.
Note: The display of the filter signal can be changed as part of the indoor function settings. By default, it is displayed after 180 hours.
For FDE, FDT, FDTC, FDTS or FDTW:
- The TIMER/CHECK-LED blinks for a long duration (two seconds on, one second off).
- After cleaning the filter, press the FILTER button on the remote control to reset the filter.
