Philips Soundbar 6000 Series TAB6309/37

Welcome to your new Philips Soundbar. This guide provides essential information for setup and operation.

What's in the Box

Your Philips Soundbar package typically includes:

  • Soundbar unit
  • Wireless subwoofer
  • Remote control (requires 2 AAA batteries)
  • DC adapter (for soundbar)
  • Power cord (for subwoofer)
  • Wall mount kit (includes brackets, screws, and gum covers)
  • Quick start guide and Warranty card/Safety sheet

Note: Included items and their appearance may vary by region.

Step 1: Positioning and Wall Mounting

Positioning

Place the soundbar in front of your TV or mount it on the wall. For optimal sound, position it centrally in front of the listening area.

Wall Mounting (Optional)

If wall mounting, follow these guidelines:

Diagram shows a soundbar positioned below a TV. Dimensions indicate a recommended distance of 50mm (2.0 inches) from the bottom of the TV to the top of the soundbar. For wall mounting, two parallel holes need to be drilled in the wall, spaced 664mm (26 inches) apart. The holes should be between 3-8mm in diameter, depending on the wall type. The wall mount kit includes brackets, screws, and gum covers for installation.

Ensure the soundbar is securely mounted to prevent accidents.

Step 2: Connecting the Soundbar

Connect the necessary cables to the rear of the soundbar:

  • DC IN: Connect the DC adapter here.
  • OPTICAL IN: Connect an optical cable from your TV or other audio source.
  • USB: For firmware updates or service.
  • HDMI OUT (eARC): Connect this to the HDMI ARC/eARC port on your TV using an HDMI cable.
  • AUDIO IN: Connect an analog audio cable (e.g., 3.5mm or RCA) from your TV or other devices.

Step 3: Connecting to Your TV

You can connect your TV to the soundbar in several ways to hear audio:

HDMI eARC Connection

Connect the soundbar's HDMI OUT (eARC) port to your TV's HDMI ARC/eARC port using an HDMI cable. This is the recommended connection for high-quality audio and control.

Diagram shows a TV connected to the soundbar via an HDMI cable plugged into the HDMI eARC ports on both devices.

Optical Connection

Connect the soundbar's OPTICAL IN port to your TV's Optical Out port using an optical cable.

Step 4: AUX Connections

You can also connect audio sources using the AUX inputs:

  • 3.5mm AUDIO IN: Connect a device with a headphone jack using a 3.5mm audio cable.
  • AUDIO L/R: Connect a device with RCA audio outputs using an RCA to 3.5mm cable or RCA cables.

Diagrams show connections from a device (like a headphone or another audio source) to the soundbar's 3.5mm AUDIO IN and L/R AUDIO IN ports.

Step 5: Powering On

Connect the power adapter to the soundbar and plug it into a power outlet. The soundbar will enter standby mode.

To turn on the soundbar, press the Power button ⏻ on the remote control or on the soundbar itself.
