Note: For the full Dolby Atmos experience, connect via HDMI 2.0 cable. Other connections may limit Dolby features.
HDMI Connection
Some 4K HDR TVs require HDMI input or picture settings to be adjusted for HDR content.
Option 1: eARC/ARC (Audio Return Channel)
Your soundbar supports HDMI with Audio Return Channel (eARC/ARC). If your TV supports HDMI ARC, you can hear its sound through your soundbar using a single HDMI cable.
- On your TV, enable HDMI-CEC functions. Consult your TV's manual for details.
- Use a high-speed HDMI cable to connect the HDMI OUT (eARC/ARC)-TO TV connector on your soundbar to the TV's HDMI ARC connector.
Note: Your TV's HDMI-CEC and ARC functions must be enabled. The setup method may vary by TV. Ensure you use HDMI cables that support ARC.
Option 2: Standard HDMI
If your TV does not support HDMI ARC, connect your soundbar via a standard HDMI connection.
- Use an HDMI cable (included) to connect the soundbar's HDMI IN (1 or 2) to your external devices (e.g., game consoles, DVD or Blu-ray players).
- Use an HDMI cable (included) to connect the soundbar's HDMI OUT (eARC/ARC) to your TV's HDMI IN port.
Optical Connection
Use an optical cable to connect the OPTICAL OUT port on your TV or other device to the OPTICAL port on your soundbar. The digital optical connector may be marked SPDIF or SPDIF OUT.
AUX Connection
a. Using a 3.5 mm to 3.5 mm audio cable: Connect the TV's headphone jack to the AUX jack on the unit.
b. Using an RCA to 3.5 mm audio cable: Connect the TV's audio output jacks to the AUX jack on the unit.
Power Connection

Troubleshooting
Warning
Risk of electric shock. Do not remove the product casing.
To maintain warranty validity, do not attempt to repair the product yourself. If you encounter problems, check the following points before seeking service. If the problem persists, get assistance at www.philips.com/support.
Main Unit
- Buttons not working: Disconnect the power for a few minutes, then reconnect.
- No power: Ensure the power cord is securely connected. Check if the power outlet is working. Press the standby button on the remote control or soundbar to turn on the soundbar.
Sound
- No sound from the soundbar: Connect the soundbar's audio cable to your TV or other devices. Separate audio connection is not needed if:
- the soundbar and TV are connected via HDMI ARC, or
- a device is connected to the soundbar's HDMI IN connector.
- No sound from the wireless subwoofer: Manually connect the subwoofer to the main unit. Increase the volume. If no sound from a digital input, try setting the TV output to PCM or make a direct connection to your Blu-ray source. Some TVs do not transmit digital sound. Check if your TV's audio output is set to FIXED or STANDARD, not variable. If using Bluetooth, ensure your source device volume is up and not muted. If playback freezes and there is no sound in Wi-Fi mode, check your home network.
- Distorted or echoing sound: If streaming TV sound, mute the TV.
- Audio and video out of sync: Press to synchronize sound and video.
Bluetooth
- Device cannot connect to the soundbar: The device may not support the required Bluetooth profiles. Ensure Bluetooth is activated on your device. Re-pair the device. Ensure the device is correctly connected. The soundbar may already be connected to another Bluetooth device; disconnect the connected device and try again.
- Poor Bluetooth audio playback quality: Poor Bluetooth reception. Move the device closer to the soundbar or remove obstacles.
- Cannot find the Bluetooth name: Ensure Bluetooth is activated on your device. Re-pair the device with your Bluetooth device.
Wi-Fi
- Wi-Fi connection cannot be established: Check wireless local area network availability on the router. Move the Wi-Fi router closer to the device. Verify the password. Check WLAN function or restart the modem and Wi-Fi router.
Dolby Atmos
Cannot get specific Dolby Atmos effects: With non-HDMI connections (USB, Bluetooth, OPTICAL, or AUDIO IN), surround effects are limited. Refer to the "Dolby Atmos" section for how to achieve the best Dolby Atmos effects.
Play-Fi
- Cannot discover compatible Play-Fi devices: Ensure the device is connected to Wi-Fi.
- Cannot play music via Play-Fi: Some network services or content may become unavailable if the service provider terminates its service. If initial setup fails, close the Philips Sound app with DTS Play-Fi and restart it. If the speaker was set to stereo pairs or surround sound, it must be disconnected in the app before being used separately.
Remote Control Not Working
- Before pressing a playback control button, select the correct source first.
- Reduce the distance between the remote control and the unit.
- Insert the battery with polarities aligned as indicated. Replace batteries.
- Point the remote control directly at the sensor on the front of the unit.
Automatic Power Off
There is an automatic power-off function after 15 minutes, as required by the ERP II standard for energy saving. If the input signal level is too low, the unit will turn off automatically within 15 minutes. Please increase the volume of your external device.
Subwoofer in Standby or Indicator Not Lighting Up
Unplug the power cord from the mains socket and plug it back in after 3 minutes to reset the subwoofer.
