Front Panel

Getting Started
- Connect Headphones: Plug your headphones into either the 4.4mm BAL output or the 3.5mm S-Balanced output on the front panel.
- Connect to Source: Use the USB-C to USB-C cable (or USB-C to USB-A adapter) to connect the hip-dac 3's USB-C data input to your smartphone, tablet, or computer.
- Power On: Press the Power/Volume knob. The device will turn on.
- Adjust Volume: Rotate the Power/Volume knob to set your desired listening level.
Understanding Features
XBass
Press the XBass button to engage this feature. XBass enhances the low-frequency response without adding distortion, ideal for music that benefits from a warmer bass presence or for use with open-back headphones.
PowerMatch
The PowerMatch button adjusts the gain.
- Low Gain (default): Suitable for high-sensitivity headphones and in-ear monitors (IEMs) to prevent distortion and provide a wider dynamic range.
