Know Your Steam Iron
Diagram Description: The steam iron consists of the following parts:
- Top View: Burst steam button (with CLEAN indicator), Steam release button, Soleplate, Temperature dial, Temperature indicator, Iron body.
- Side View: Filling cap, Tank release button, Water tank handle, Water tank.
- Base View: Front support, Thermal insulating cushion, Silicone pad, Rear support, Cord winding groove, Cord clamp, Unit base body.
Temperature Dial
The temperature dial indicates settings for different fabrics:
- Symbol: (Image of a dial with settings)
- Settings: SILK, WOOL, COTTON, LINEN, CLEAN.
- Note: The symbol indicates that this article cannot be ironed.
Before First Use
- Remove any sticker, protective foil, or storage cover from the soleplate.
- Heat the iron to maximum temperature and iron over a piece of damp cloth for several minutes to remove any residue on the soleplate.
Notes:
- A strange odor from the unit during the first use is normal and will cease shortly.
- Particles may come out of the soleplate during the first use; this is normal and harmless.
- A pumping sound when switching on is normal, indicating water is being pumped.
- Little steam may be emitted automatically during the heating process for about 3 seconds; this is normal.
Dry Ironing
- Place the steam station iron on a flat surface.
- Connect the plug to the wall outlet; the temperature indicator will start to flicker.
- The appliance will stop heating if there is no operation within 10 minutes after plugging in. To resume, unplug and plug the appliance again.
- Turn the temperature dial to the desired setting based on the fabric of the garment. Refer to IRONING TIPS. The iron starts heating, and the temperature indicator flickers during this process.
- When the temperature indicator illuminates constantly, the selected temperature is reached, and you can begin ironing.
WARNING: Never touch the hot soleplate before it cools down!
Steam Ironing
- Grasp the water tank handle and press the tank release button to remove the water tank.
- Fill the water tank with water through the inlet. Purified water with fewer calcium particles is recommended. The maximum water capacity is 1.8L; do not exceed the MAX mark.
- Note: If tap water is very hard, mix it with an equal amount of distilled water.
- Replace the detachable water tank properly.
- Note: If the water tank is not properly placed, the iron will not produce steam.
- Place the iron on the steam station iron's thermal insulating cushion.
- Connect the plug to the wall outlet; the temperature indicator will start to flicker.
- The appliance will stop heating if there is no operation within 10 minutes of being plugged in. To resume, unplug and plug the appliance again.
- Turn the temperature dial to the desired setting, depending on the fabric. The water in the reservoir will heat up, and the temperature indicator will flicker during heating. Once the indicator illuminates constantly, the soleplate temperature has reached the selected setting.
- Remove the iron and iron the garment with steam by pressing the steam release button. For stubborn creases, press the Burst steam button once for a shot of steam.
Caution:
- Do not touch the hot soleplate before cooling down.
- Never direct the steam at people.
- Never turn the soleplate upwards to release steam.
7. After ironing, unplug the iron from the wall socket. The soleplate will still be hot; do not touch it. Place it on the thermal insulation plate until it cools down completely.
Cleaning and Maintenance
Before cleaning, disconnect the power outlet and let the appliance cool down.
- Wipe flakes and other deposits on the soleplate with a damp cloth or a non-abrasive (liquid) cleaner.
- NOTE: Do not use chemical, steel, wooden, or abrasive cleaners to scrape the soleplate.
- Clean the upper part of the iron with a soft damp cloth. Wipe water drops on the unit base and the thermal insulation plate with a dry cloth.
- CLEAN: When the appliance needs descaling, the clean indicator will light up with an audible warning. Turn the temperature dial to "CLEAN", then press and hold the Burst steam button and Steam release button simultaneously for 2 seconds to activate the calc clean procedure. The "CLEAN" indicator will extinguish upon completion. If the calc clean procedure is not activated promptly, the appliance will automatically switch to the MIN steam amount after 1 hour of operation.
- When not using the appliance for an extended period, empty the water from the reservoir and store the steam iron on the thermal insulation plate.
Ironing Tips
- Always check the garment's label for ironing instructions and follow them.
- The iron heats up faster than it cools down. Start with articles requiring the lowest temperature, such as synthetic fibers.
- For fabrics composed of various fibers, select the lowest ironing temperature suitable for the fiber composition.
- Iron silk and other fabrics prone to shining on the inner side. Iron velvet and other textures that become shiny quickly in one direction with light pressure, keeping the iron moving at all times.
- Pure wool fabrics (100% wool) can be ironed with the steam iron. Use the maximum temperature setting and a dry cloth as a mat.
- Never iron over zippers or rivets on clothing, as this can damage the soleplate. Iron around such objects.
- NOTE: When ironing woolen fabrics, shining may occur. It is suggested to turn the article inside out and iron the reverse side.
