Important Safety Information
ATTENTION: Users must read this document and related installation, configuration, and operation documents before installing, configuring, operating, or maintaining the product. All activities, including installation, adjustments, and maintenance, must be performed by suitably trained personnel in accordance with applicable codes of practice. If the equipment malfunctions or is damaged, do not attempt repairs; return it to the manufacturer. Do not dismantle the module.
ATTENTION: Solid state equipment has different operational characteristics than electromechanical equipment. Refer to Safety Guidelines for the Application, Installation and Maintenance of Solid State Controls (publication SGI-1.1) for details on these differences.
IMPORTANT: Illustrations, charts, and examples in this publication are for illustrative purposes only. Rockwell Automation is not liable for actual use based on these examples due to the many variables in specific installations.
Environment and Enclosure
ATTENTION: This equipment is designed for use in a Pollution Degree 2 industrial environment, with overvoltage Category II applications (as defined in EN/IEC 60664-1), at altitudes up to 2000 m (6562 ft) without derating. It is not intended for residential environments.
This equipment is supplied as open-type for indoor use and must be mounted within an enclosure that is suitably designed for the specific environmental conditions and flame-retardant properties (e.g., 5VA flame spread rating or approved for nonmetallic applications). The enclosure interior should only be accessible with a tool.
Refer to Industrial Automation Wiring and Grounding Guidelines (publication 1770-4.1) and NEMA Standard 250 and EN/IEC 60529 for enclosure specifications.
European Hazardous Location Approval
This equipment is intended for use in potentially explosive atmospheres (Zone 2 classification) as defined by ATEX directive 2014/34/EU.
