Start to Operate the Unit

Unpacking the Unit

Follow these steps carefully when unpacking:

  1. Do not turn the unit upside down or lay it on its side.
  2. Remove the strapping.
  3. Open the carton box.
  4. Remove the Styrofoam packing.
  5. Pull the unit straight up from the box.
  6. Remove the plastic bag.

The refrigeration compressor has sensitive mounts for quiet running; improper handling may damage it. Wipe the unit clean if necessary.

Placement:

  • Place the unit on a hard and flat ground, ensuring it is even and stable.
  • Locate the unit away from direct sunlight and other sources of heat.
  • Ensure good air circulation. Maintain at least 2 inches of space between the back of the unit and the wall, and a minimum distance of 4 inches on each side. Prevent exposure to high temperatures and sunlight.
  • The appliance must be positioned so that the plug is accessible.
  • Fasten the drain cap tightly at the back of the unit. It may have loosened during shipping, causing water leakage if not secured.
  • Do not plug the power cord into the power socket yet; read all instructions first.

This unit is for indoor use only. Room temperature should not exceed 97°F/36°C.

Clean Your Unit Before First Using

It is strongly recommended to clean the unit thoroughly before first use:

  1. Take out the ice shovel from the ice-making chamber.
  2. Clean the outside of the unit with a mild detergent solution and warm water.
  3. For the first use, hold a clean water bottle vertically and upside down over the smart device, and place it into the receptacle. After a few minutes, water will flow into all faucets. Then, remove the bottle, open the drain cap for the hot tank, let all water drain out, and reinstall the drain cap.
  4. Clean the ice-making chamber with diluted detergent, warm water, and a soft cloth. Rinse the inside parts and drain water by unplugging the drain cap at the back of the ice dispenser. Reinstall and tighten the drain cap.
  5. If the machine is not in use for a long time, open both drain caps to drain water completely.

Prepare for Use

Improper use of the grounded plug can result in electrical shock. If the power cord is damaged, contact customer service.

  1. Ensure the unit is not plugged into the main electrical outlet.
  2. Before placing a water bottle, ensure the drain cap on the back is tightly fastened.
  3. Hold the water bottle vertically and upside down over the smart device, and place it into the receptacle. Apply slight pressure to pierce the bottle cap with the spigot. This unit accepts two, three, or five-gallon water bottles with pierceable sealed caps.
  4. Open a water faucet to let air out until water flows, then release the faucet tap.
  5. Plug the unit into a grounded power outlet. Do not plug in before water flows from all faucets.

DANGER: This unit must be properly grounded for safety. The power cord has a three-prong plug for standard grounded outlets. Plug into an exclusive, properly installed, grounded wall outlet. Do not cut or remove the third prong. Consult a certified electrician for any power or grounding questions. This appliance requires a standard 110-120V, 60Hz electrical outlet with a three-prong ground.

If the unit is brought in from outside in winter, allow it a few hours to warm up to room temperature before plugging it in.

Operate the Unit

After plugging in the main power outlet, the POWER indicator will illuminate. You can then operate the hot water, cold water, and ice-making functions.

Hot Water Operation

Press the Hot Water button. The green Hot Water indicator will start blinking, indicating the heating element is working. When the indicator illuminates steadily, the hot water has reached the desired temperature. If there is no water in the hot tank (first use or after draining), a warning sound will occur for 10 times, and the Warning indicator will illuminate. Pressing the Hot Water button again will restart heating. Pressing the button once more will turn off the heating to save electricity.

Cold Water Operation

Press the Cold Water button. The Cold Water indicator will start blinking, meaning the compressor is running to cool the water. When the indicator illuminates steadily, the cold water has reached the desired temperature. The indicator will blink again during the cooling process. Cold Water function and Ice-making function can work together.

Ice-making Operation
  1. Press the “Ice-maker” button to begin the ice-making cycle; the Ice-maker indicator will blink.
  2. The ice-making cycle lasts 7 to 15 minutes, depending on ambient temperature.
  3. The unit verifies water level periodically. If there is insufficient water, the ice maker stops automatically, and the Warning indicator turns on.
  4. The ice maker stops automatically when it detects the ice bin is full. The Ice-maker indicator will change from blinking to illuminating.
  5. Ensure a reasonable hygiene level in the water tank of the ice maker.
Getting Ice

If the unit is not in use for a long time, drain all water from both drain ports. Open the ice getting entrance door and use the provided ice scoop to get ice.

Note: When using cold water and ice-making functions simultaneously, wait for the cold water temperature to reach the set value before ice-making begins. If cold water is dispensed or its temperature rises, the unit will revert to cold water operation after the current ice-making cycle finishes.

Clean Your Unit During Regular Using

After three months of use or more, clean your unit. Unplug the unit before any cleaning or maintenance.

  • Exterior: Wash the outside enclosure with a wet soft cloth and mild liquid dishwashing soap. Do not use erosive chemical solvents. Avoid pouring water on the entire shell to prevent wetting electrical parts.
  • Water Dispenser System: Twist the bottle receptacle of the non-spill system counter-clockwise and pull it up.

The non-spill system (smart device and smart core) should be washed with dishwashing fluid, rinsed, and reassembled. Empty both hot and cold tanks by unplugging the drain cap at the back. To clean inside parts, use vinegar or a 2% citric acid solution to remove mineral scaling. Rinse well, drain water from the hot tank drain cap, reassemble all parts, and securely fasten the drain cap. Allow the unit to dry for two hours before plugging it back in. Reinstall the bottle receptacle.

  • Ice-making Chamber: Remove the ice and water separator and ice storing plate by unscrewing them. Wash these parts with dishwashing fluid, rinse, and dry. Then, wash the inside of the ice-making chamber, rinse, and drain water from the ice dispenser drain cap. Rinse several times and securely fasten the drain cap. After drying the removed parts, reinstall them with screws.

Precautions

  • When cleaning, use a wet soft cloth. Do not use erosive chemical solvents. Be careful not to pour water on the enclosure, to avoid wetting internal electrical parts.
  • Keep the unit away from the wall with proper distance, away from high temperatures, and protected from sunlight or other heating resources. Ensure ventilation openings are clear.
  • If the unit will not be used for a long time, disconnect the power cord, drain water from both drain caps, and fasten the caps tightly.
  • Children are forbidden to touch the hot tap; it is dangerous and can cause burns.
