- Installation and electrical wiring must be done by one or more qualified persons, in accordance with all applicable codes and standards, including fire-rated construction.
- Sufficient air is needed for proper combustion and exhausting of gases through the chimney (flue) of combustion equipment to prevent back drafting. Follow the heating equipment manufacturer's guidelines and safety standards such as those published by the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) and the American Society for Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE), as well as local regulations.
- When cutting or drilling into a wall or ceiling, do not damage electrical wiring and other hidden utilities.

Grease Fire Safety
⚠️ WARNING: TO REDUCE THE RISK OF INJURY FROM GREASE FIRES ON THE COOKTOP, OBSERVE THE FOLLOWING:
- EXTINGUISH FLAMES with a tight-fitting lid, cookie sheet, or metal tray, then turn off the gas burner or electric element. If flames do not go out immediately, EVACUATE AND CALL THE FIRE DEPARTMENT.
- Never pick up a burning pan – you could be burned.
- DO NOT USE WATER, including wet cloths or towels, as this would cause a violent steam explosion.
- Use a fire extinguisher ONLY IF:
- You know you have a Class ABC extinguisher and know how to use it.
- The fire is small and contained in the area where it started.
- The fire department has been called.
- You can fight the fire with your back to an exit.
Operation Safety
Always keep safety grilles and filters in place. Without these, operating blowers could catch hair, fingers, and loose clothing.

- Never leave surface units unattended at high settings. Boil-overs cause smoking and greasy overflows that may ignite. Heat oils slowly at low or medium settings.
- Always turn the hood on when cooking at high heat or when flambéing food (e.g., Crêpes Suzette, Cherries Jubilee, Peppercorn Beef Flambé).
- Clean ventilating fans frequently. Grease should not accumulate on the fan or filter.
- Use cookware of appropriate size. Always use cookware suitable for the size of the surface element.

Grounding Instructions

Ensure that the electrical installation is adequate and complies with the National Electrical Code, ANSI/NFPA 70 (latest edition), or CSA C22.1-94, Canadian Electrical Code, Part 1 and C22.2 No. 0-M91 (latest edition) and all local codes and ordinances.
If codes permit and a separate ground wire is used, it is recommended that a qualified electrician determine that the ground path is adequate.

- A 120-volt, 60 Hz, AC only, 15-ampere circuit, fused, is required.
- If the house is equipped with aluminum wiring, follow the procedure below:
- Connect a section of solid copper wire to the pigtail wires.
- Connect the aluminum wiring to the added copper wire section using connectors and/or special tools designed and UL-listed for joining copper to aluminum. Follow the procedure recommended by the electrical connector manufacturer.
The aluminum/copper connection must comply with local codes and industry-accepted wiring practices.
- Wire size and connections must comply with the appliance's power rating as specified on the model/serial plate. The model/serial plate is located on the left side of the hood.
- Wire size must comply with the requirements of the National Electrical Code ANSI/NFPA 70 – latest edition*, or CSA C22.1-94, Canadian Electrical Code Part 1 and C22.2 No. 0-M91 – latest edition**, and all local codes and ordinances.
If the hood is equipped with an electrical plug, plug it into a receptacle that is in accordance with the regulations in effect and located in an accessible position.
If the hood is not equipped with an electrical plug (direct connection to the electrical system) or if the receptacle will not be accessible after installation, install an approved double pole switch in an accessible location that allows for complete disconnection under Category III overvoltage conditions, in accordance with local wiring rules.
It is the responsibility and obligation of the consumer to contact a qualified installer to ensure that the electrical installation is adequate and complies with all local codes and ordinances.

Installation
Materials Included

For Cabinets with Recessed Bottoms:
- Two 5.1 cm wide filler strips.
- Four wood screws with flat heads or machine screws with washers and nuts (to attach filler strips).
Location Requirements
➡️ IMPORTANT: Comply with all applicable codes and ordinances. It is the installer's responsibility to comply with the rating plate. The model and serial number rating plate is located inside the hood, on the left side (see page 2 for location). The hood location should be away from areas of strong airflow, such as windows, doors, and powerful heating vents.
➡️ IMPORTANT:
- The cabinet opening dimensions shown must be respected. These dimensions correspond to a minimum clearance. Consult the installation instructions of the cooktop or range manufacturer before making any cutouts.
- A grounded electrical outlet is required. See the "Electrical Requirements" section.
- All openings in the ceiling and wall where the hood will be installed must be sealed.
- Remove product protection before installation (if applicable).
For Mobile Home Installations
The installation of this hood must comply with the Manufactured Home Construction Safety Standards, Title 24 CFR, Part 328 (formerly Federal Standard for Mobile Home Construction and Safety, Title 24, HUD, Part 280) or, where this standard is not applicable, with the Manufactured Home Installation 1982 standard (Manufactured Home Sites, Communities and Setups) ANSI A225.1/NFPA 501A, or its latest edition, or local codes.

Exhaust Requirements
- The exhaust system must terminate outdoors.
- Do not terminate the exhaust system in an attic or other enclosed area.
- Do not use a 4" (10.2 cm) laundry-type wall cap.
- Use a 7" (17.8 cm) round metal vent. The length of the exhaust system and the number of elbows should be kept to a minimum to ensure efficient operation.
For efficient and quiet operation:
- Do not use more than three 90° elbows.
- Ensure there is a minimum of 24" (61 cm) of straight exhaust between elbows if more than one elbow is used.
- Do not install two elbows together. Use clamps or tape to seal all exhaust system joints.
- The exhaust system outlet must be equipped with a backdraft damper. Use caulking to seal the exterior wall or roof opening around the cap.
- Best performance is achieved with straight, elbow-free ducting and smooth tubing.
- Recommended equivalent length for exhaust system: approx. 50 ft (15.2m).
Cold Weather Installations
An additional backdraft damper should be installed to minimize cold air backflow, and a thermal break should be installed to minimize heat conduction from outside temperatures into the ventilation system.
The damper should be placed on the cold air side of the thermal break, as close as possible to where the ventilation system enters the heated part of the house.
Makeup Air
Local building codes may require the use of makeup air systems when ventilation systems with airflow exceeding a specified CFM are used. The specified CFM varies by location. Consult your HVAC professional for specific requirements in your area.
Preparation of Location
➡️ NOTE: Before making any cuts, ensure the ceiling or wall is sufficiently clear.
- Disconnect electrical power.
- Choose a flat surface to assemble the hood. Cover the surface with a protective covering.
- Lift the hood and place it upside down on the covered surface.
- If the cabinet bottom forms a cavity, add support strips on each side. Install screws to secure the support strips in the indicated locations.

Preparing the Wiring Holes
To wire through the wall:
- Trace a distance line (A) from the right of the center axis on the underside of the wall. Mark the point on this line that is 7/8" (2.2 cm) from the cabinet underside. Drill a 1½” (3.2 cm) diameter hole (B) through the back wall at this location.
To wire through the top:
- Trace a distance line (A) from the right of the center axis on the underside of the cabinet. Mark the point on this line that is 2" (5.08 cm) from the back wall. Drill a 1/4" (3.2 cm) diameter hole (B) through the cabinet at this location.
Determining Wiring Hole Locations
- Clearly determine and mark a vertical centerline on the wall and cabinet bottom.
VENTILATION
Choose the exhaust method from the options listed below:
Style 1 - Vented Hood Version
For this installation, proceed to the "Range Hood Installation (Vented Version)" section on page 31.
NOTE: For installations venting through the roof or wall, the recirculation vent cover must remain in place.
Style 2 - Cutting Openings for 7" (17.8 cm) Round Vent Transition
Roof Ventilation
To create a circular vent opening on the underside of the cabinet top:
- Mark a centerline on the underside of the cabinet top.
- Mark a line 5" (12.7 cm) from the back wall on the underside of the cabinet top. Use a compass or circle template to draw a 7½” (19 cm) diameter circle.
- Use a jigsaw or saber saw to cut the circular vent opening.
- Repeat steps 1 to 3 for the underside of the upper cabinet part.

NOTE: Your model includes a 7” (17.8 cm) round mounting plate inside the packaging.
NOTE: The outlet must be removed using a screwdriver or prying tool, not a hammer.
Installing a Ventilation System
- Install the vent through the vent opening in the upper cabinet or wall. Complete the exhaust system according to the chosen exhaust method.
- Use caulking to seal the exterior wall or roof opening around the cap.
Installation - Vented Version
Vent Connector Installation
NOTE: Remove protective film completely. Install the 7" (17.8 cm) round vent mounting plate. Secure to the hood using the screws indicated in the hardware kit.

NOTE: The 7" (17.8 cm) round mounting plate can be installed up to 1" (2.5 cm) on either side of the hood's center to accommodate off-center ducting.
Power Cable Installation
- For direct-wired installations, route the house electrical power cable in accordance with the National Electric Code or CSA standards, as well as local codes and regulations. There must be sufficient cable from the fuse disconnect box (or circuit breaker) to make the connection in the hood's junction box.
NOTE: Do not reconnect power until installation is complete.
Before starting installation, remove the grease filter and the left and right side panels. Complete the installation to reinstall the side panels.
- Remove the terminal box cover screw. Remove the terminal box cover and set it aside.
- Remove the power supply knockout from the top or rear of the hood (depending on your house's power cable location) and install a 1/2" UL-listed or CSA-approved cable tie.
- With two or more people, lift the hood into its final position. Route sufficient electrical wire through the 1/2" UL-listed or CSA-approved cable tie to make the connections in the terminal box. Tighten the cable tie screws.
- Position the hood so that the wide end of the keyhole slots is above the mounting screws. Then, push the hood toward the wall so that the screws are in the keyhole slots. Tighten the mounting screws, ensuring they are in the narrow part of the slots.
- Connect the exhaust ducts to the hood. Seal the joints with clamps or tape to make them secure and airtight.
- Check the operation of the backdraft dampers.
Installation - Recirculating Version
NOTE: Remove protective film completely.
- Lift the hood under the cabinet and determine its final position by centering it under the cabinet. Mark the location of the 4 keyhole mounting slots on the underside of the cabinet. (See slot dimensions on page 27). Set the hood aside on a covered surface.
- Use a 1/8" (3 mm) drill bit and drill 4 pilot holes as indicated. REMINDER: Drill pilot holes on the narrow part of the slot.
- Install the 4 x 0.45 cm x 1.3 cm mounting screws into the pilot holes. Leave a space of approximately 1/4" (6.4 mm) between the screw heads and the cabinet to slide the hood into place.

Recirculation Vent Cover: For installations that recirculate exhausted air, the recirculation vent cover must be removed. Remove the recirculation vent cover by removing the 2 mounting screws using a Phillips screwdriver.

Power Cable Installation
- For direct-wired installations, route the house electrical power cable in accordance with the National Electric Code or CSA standards, as well as local codes and regulations. There must be sufficient cable from the fuse disconnect box (or circuit breaker) to make the connection in the hood's junction box.

NOTE: For installations where venting is through the roof or wall, the recirculation vent cover must remain in place. Do not remove, as the appliance will not function correctly.
To complete the installation, proceed to the "Make Electrical Connections" section on page 32.
NOTE: Consider using measurement A for a 7” (17.8 cm) round transition and measurement B for a recirculation system.

Electrical Connection
⚠️ WARNING: Risk of electric shock. Disconnect power before any work. Replace all parts and panels before operating the appliance. Failure to comply with this warning may result in death or electric shock.
- Disconnect the power source.

- Use UL-listed wire connectors to connect the white wires (A) together. (There are two white wires on the hood; both must be connected to the power supply.)
- Use UL-listed wire connectors to connect the black wires (B) together.
- Connect the green (or bare) ground wire from the supply to the green ground screw in the terminal box and tighten securely.
- Install the terminal box cover.
- Reconnect power.
⚠️ WARNING: Risk of fire. Ground the fan. Connect the ground wire to the green ground screw in the terminal box. Failure to comply with this warning may result in death, fire, or electric shock.
Complete Installation
- Replace the grease filter if it was removed. Check the operation of the fan and the hood lighting. See the "Using Your Hood" section.
- If the hood does not operate, check if a circuit breaker has tripped or a household fuse has blown. Disconnect the appliance and check the electrical connections.
NOTE: To get the most out of your new hood, read the "Using Your Hood" section.
Using Your Range Hood
The hood is designed to remove smoke and cooking vapors from the cooktop. For best results, turn the hood on before cooking and let it run for several minutes after cooking is finished to clear all cooking smoke from the kitchen.
A carbon filter kit to eliminate odors is included (2 filters). See page 35 for information on replacing this kit. The hood controls are located on the front of the hood.

Cleaning and Maintenance
Cleaning
⚠️ WARNING: To reduce the risk of fire or electric shock, disconnect the appliance before cleaning.
➡️ IMPORTANT: Clean the hood and grease filters frequently according to the instructions. Replace the grease filter before operating the hood.

Exterior Surfaces
Do not use abrasive scouring pads, cleaners, polishing creams, steel wool, or gritty cloths or paper towels. To avoid damaging stainless steel, do not use cleaners containing chlorine.
Cleaning Method:
- Use warm water with a liquid detergent or all-purpose cleaner and a soft cloth to clean exterior surfaces.
- Rinse with clean water and dry with a soft, lint-free cloth.
- Use a glass cleaner to remove fingerprints.
- For stainless steel finishes, rub in the direction of the grain to avoid scratching or damaging the surface.
NOTE: Do not use a stainless steel brush to avoid scratching or damaging the surface.
To Clean or Replace the Grease Filter:
- Remove the Phillips screw from the filter support.

- To remove, pinch the filter latch and pull the front edge down.
- Remove the carbon filter rods and remove the carbon filter (located behind the grease filter).
- To clean the grease filters, soak them in warm water with a mild detergent. Rinse well and shake to dry. You can also place them in the top rack of the dishwasher.
REMINDER: Do not use ammonia. The filter's aluminum may corrode and darken.
REMINDER: You can use a dishwasher or a warm detergent solution and rinse with clear water.
➡️ NOTE: To avoid damaging the grease filter during cleaning, place the filter in the top rack of the dishwasher.
Replacing LED Lamps
The LED strip can only be replaced by a technician. See warranty section for assistance contact information.
For recirculating air hoods, a carbon filter is included. It purifies the air and eliminates odors. The carbon filter is not washable and must be replaced after every filter alarm or every 6 months of use. Regularly replace the carbon filter to maintain optimal hood performance.

Warranty
Your appliance is covered by a limited one-year warranty. For one year from the date of purchase, Electrolux will cover all repair or replacement costs for parts of this appliance that prove to be defective due to material or workmanship, provided the appliance is installed, used, and maintained in accordance with the provided instructions.
Exclusions
This warranty does not cover:
- Products with original serial numbers removed, altered, or not easily determinable.
- Products transferred from their original owner to another party or not located in the U.S. or Canada.
- Rust on the interior or exterior of the appliance.
- Products sold "as is" are not covered by this warranty.
- Food loss due to refrigerator or freezer failures.
- Products used in commercial establishments.
- Service calls that do not involve a malfunction, manufacturing defect, or material defect, or for appliances not intended for household use or not used in accordance with the provided instructions.
- Service calls to verify appliance installation or provide instructions on how to use the appliance.
- Costs that make the appliance accessible for repair, such as removing trim, cabinets, shelves, etc., that were not part of the appliance when it left the factory.
- Service calls for repair or replacement of light bulbs, air filters, water filters, other materials, or cosmetic parts like knobs and handles.
- Additional costs, including but not limited to, service calls outside normal business hours, weekends, or holidays, tolls and mileage charges, or travel charges for service calls to remote locations, including Alaska.
- Damage to the appliance finish or to the home during installation, including but not limited to, floors, cabinets, walls, etc.
- Damage caused by: repairs performed by unauthorized technicians; use of parts other than genuine Electrolux parts not obtained through an authorized servicer; or external causes such as abuse, inadequate electrical supply, accidents, fires, or acts of God.

THE CUSTOMER'S SOLE REMEDY UNDER THIS LIMITED WARRANTY IS REPAIR OR REPLACEMENT OF THE PRODUCT AS DESCRIBED HEREIN. IMPLIED WARRANTIES, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ARE LIMITED TO AT LEAST ONE YEAR OR THE SHORTEST PERIOD PERMITTED BY LAW. ELECTROLUX SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR DIRECT OR INDIRECT DAMAGES, OR PROPERTY DAMAGE AND INCIDENTAL EXPENSES RESULTING FROM ANY BREACH OF THIS WRITTEN WARRANTY OR ANY IMPLIED WARRANTY.
SOME STATES AND PROVINCES DO NOT ALLOW THE EXCLUSION OR LIMITATION OF DIRECT OR INDIRECT DAMAGES OR THE LIMITATION OF IMPLIED WARRANTIES. IN SUCH CASES, THESE LIMITATIONS OR EXCLUSIONS MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU. THIS WRITTEN WARRANTY GIVES YOU SPECIFIC LEGAL RIGHTS. YOU MAY ALSO HAVE OTHER RIGHTS WHICH VARY FROM STATE TO STATE OR PROVINCE TO PROVINCE.
If You Need Service
Keep your receipt, delivery slip, or other valid proof of payment to establish the warranty period should service be required. If service is needed, please obtain and keep all receipts.
Service under this warranty must be obtained by contacting Electrolux at the address or phone numbers listed below. This warranty is valid only in the United States and Canada.
In the U.S., your appliance is warranted by Electrolux Major Appliances North America, a division of Electrolux Home Products, Inc. In Canada, your appliance is warranted by Electrolux Canada Corp. No one is authorized to change or add to the obligations under this warranty. The obligations for product repair and parts under this warranty shall be performed by Electrolux or an authorized service company.
