Overview
This document provides instructions for using the John Deere Software Manager Utility. This utility helps users keep their Generation 4 CommandCenter™ or Generation 4 Universal Display up-to-date with the latest software and features from John Deere. It facilitates downloading software updates, transferring them to a USB drive, and optionally sending back records of installed software versions for improved support.
Key Features & Requirements
- USB Requirements: Format as Windows FAT or FAT32, 8 GB or larger capacity, USB 2.0 connectivity.
- Software Contents: Includes Generation 4 OS, Generation 4 OS Help, AMS Applications, and Machine Applications Help. (Note: Machine Applications require dealer installation via Service ADVISOR™).
Installation & Usage
The utility can be downloaded from John Deere's software download portal. The document details the installation process and two primary usage methods:
- Do All (Recommended): A streamlined process to download, sync to USB, and upload return files in one go.
- Granular Control: Allows individual control over steps like selecting the drive, downloading, syncing, and uploading.
After preparing the USB, the update is performed on the John Deere display itself, following onscreen prompts or the machine's Operator Manual.
