Safety Precautions

Do not place objects on top of the player.

Do not place the player on an unstable table, stand, tripod, bracket, or cart. The player may fall, resulting in possible damage or injury.

Unplug the power from the outlet during lightning storms or when the player is not in use.

Pay attention to the safety purpose of the polarized or grounding-type plug. A polarized plug has two blades with one wider than the other. A grounding type plug has two blades and a third grounding prong. The wide blade and/or the third prong is provided for your safety. If the provided plug does not fit into your outlet, consult an electrician to replace the obsolete outlet.

Protect the POWER cord from being walked on or pinched particularly at plugs, convenience receptacles, and the point where they exit from the player.

Dispose of this player properly, respecting your local laws for electronics and battery disposal.

Battery Installation (Batteries Not Included)

The remote takes 2 AAA Batteries. When using the remote, be sure to point it at the front of the boombox.

The boombox takes 6 C batteries but also plugs into the wall.

To install batteries into the remote or the boombox, open the battery cover on the back of the remote, or on the bottom of the boombox. Then, match the "+" and "-" signs with the batteries. Replace the battery cover. If the boombox unit is not used for an extended period of time, remove the batteries before storing it.

Boombox Components:

  • 1. Handle: Collapsible carry handle.
  • 2. CD Open/Eject: Button to open the lid and load/replace a CD.
  • 3. Speaker grille (left)
  • 4. Speaker grille (right)
  • 5. LED lights
  • 6. CD compartment lid
  • 7. Function/mode button: Selects different modes (CD/USB/CARD/FM/AUX/Bluetooth).
  • 8. Repeat/Program button: Cycles through repeat modes (current song, all songs, shuffle) or stores radio stations.
  • 9. Stop / Band button: Stops playback or switches between AM/FM radio bands.
  • 10. Power Switch: Turns the unit on/off and toggles LED mode.
  • 11. Volume control: Adjusts the volume.
  • 12. USB / SD Card slot: For MP3 playback from USB drives or SD/TF cards.
  • 13. Headphones jack: Connect headphones or earbuds (disables main speakers).
  • 14. AUX IN jack: 3.5mm audio input for connecting external devices.
  • 15. POWER: Power cable input.

Remote Control Components:

  • Buttons include: MUTE, BT, CD, AUX, AM/FM, USB/SD, numeric keys (0-9), Folder-, Folder+, PREV, VOL-, PLAY/PAUSE, VOL+, NEXT, EQ, STOP, PROG, REPEAT, RANDOM, SCAN.

Modes and Functions

Playing a CD

The radio defaults to "CD" mode. Use the FUNCTION button to select CD mode if needed. Press "Open/Close" to insert a CD. CDs play automatically. Use Play/Pause, Stop, Prev/Next for playback control. The Repeat/Program button cycles through repeat modes: repeat current song, repeat all songs, shuffle/random.

Listening to the Radio

Press FUNCTION until "FM" appears. Use the telescopic antenna for FM reception. Long press PLAY/PAUSE/SCAN to auto-scan and store stations. Use Prev/Next to switch between stations. For AM, press STOP/AM-FM. The antenna is not needed for AM. To save a station, press Program, select a slot (P01-P30) using Prev/Next, and press Program again. You can save up to 30 stations.

SD Card / USB Playback

Press FUNCTION until "CARD" appears. Insert a USB drive or SD card. Buttons function as in CD mode. The unit accepts cards/sticks up to 32GB capacity.

Programming a Playlist

You can program up to 20 songs for standard audio CDs and 99 songs for MP3 playback. With music stopped, press and hold Program, then use Prev/Next or enter the song number, and press Program to store. Repeat to add songs. Press Play to hear the playlist. Press Stop twice to reset programming.

Remote Control

The remote control buttons mirror the unit's functions. Number keys and +/- buttons simplify playlist programming.

Care and Maintenance

Disc Handling

  • Do not expose discs to heat, direct sunlight, or high humidity. Do not leave discs in a parked vehicle in warm weather.
  • Store discs in their cases when not in use.
  • Avoid stacking discs or standing them on end, as this can cause them to warp.
  • Do not touch the disc surface; hold by the edges.
  • Fingerprints, dust, dirt, and scratches can affect playback quality or cause skipping. Be careful of scratches that inhibit the laser beam system.
  • Clean discs before use.
  • Do not use paper, tape, or adhesive labels on discs. Use permanent markers only on the top side.
  • Clean discs with a soft cloth, wiping from the center outwards. Do not wipe in a circular fashion.
  • Do not use solvents such as benzene, household cleaning products (except those designed for CD/DVD use), or anti-static spray for vinyl records, as these can damage your device and discs.
  • Ensure the label always faces up when inserting discs.

Cleaning the Boombox

  • UNPLUG THE UNIT BEFORE CLEANING. Use a soft, damp cloth to clean the outside. Do not wipe internal parts or get them wet. Soapy water is acceptable. Do not use abrasive cleaning agents.

  • Make sure volume is up, and the unit has power.
  • Make sure headphones are not connected.
  • Make sure that the correct mode is selected for the music source you are using. Use the mode button and/or function selector (on the side and the unit).
Disc does not play properly
  • Ensure that the disc is an Audio or MP3 CD.
  • Ensure the CD door is closed.
  • Ensure the disc is not scratched or dirty (dusty, soil, fingerprints, etc.). Try cleaning the disc.

Limited Warranty

Riptunes™ warrants this product against defects in material and workmanship to the original purchaser as specified below, provided the product is registered online within fourteen (14) days of purchase.

Parts

If the product is determined to have a manufacturing defect within one (1) year from the date of original purchase, Riptunes™ will repair or replace the product parts at no charge (for parts) in the U.S.A. and Canada.

Labor

If the product is determined to have a manufacturing defect within ninety (90) days from the date of original purchase, Riptunes™ will repair or replace the product at no charge in the U.S.A. and Canada. After ninety (90) days, it will be the responsibility of the consumer.

Shipping costs to and from the warranty service center are the sole responsibility of the consumer.

To obtain warranty service by an authorized Riptunes™ service center, please email support@rip-tunes.com to obtain a Repair and Maintenance Authorization (RMA) number and locate the service center nearest you. Once authorized, mail the product in its original packaging materials or equivalent to prevent damage during transit.

If Riptunes™ determines the product is outside the Warranty term, it will be returned to the sender at sender's expense without repair or replacement, unless authorized by the consumer to service the out-of-warranty product at consumer's expense. Handling or restocking charges for returns and/or replacements are non-refundable.

Riptunes™ specifically excludes from this warranty any non-electric/mechanical attachments, accessories, and disposable parts, including but not limited to outside case, connecting cables, batteries, and AC adaptors.

Riptunes™ reserves the right to repair or replace defective products with the same, equivalent, or newer models. Replacement may be new or refurbished.

Normal "Wear and Tear" is not covered. Tampering or opening the product casing or shell will void this warranty.

This warranty does not apply if the product has been damaged by accident, abuse, misuse, or misapplication; has been altered or modified without written permission; serviced by a non-authorized repair center; not maintained or operated according to the manual; used for commercial purposes; cosmetically damaged; not imported by Riptunes™; not manufactured according to U.S. market specifications; improper installation or neglect; damaged due to improper packaging; damaged by natural disasters; or if the serial number has been removed or defaced.

Implied warranties, including warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose, are limited to one (1) year for parts and ninety (90) days for labor from the original retail purchase date.

These warranties and remedies are the sole and exclusive warranties and remedies. No other warranties, oral or written, expressed or implied, are given.
