Instruction Manual
Pulse Oximeter
Model: JKS50B
Brand: Healthtree
Introduction
This user manual provides essential information for the Healthtree JKS50B Pulse Oximeter. Please read it carefully and keep it for future reference. If you need further assistance, please contact the manufacturer or representative.
Precautions for Use
- For more accurate measurements of SpO2 and PR, the oximeter should be used in a quiet and comfortable environment.
- When the oximeter is in use, ensure batteries have sufficient capacity; otherwise, there might be phenomena such as starting-up abnormalities or inaccurate measurement data.
- Please use a dry finger to measure and keep still while measuring.
- Do not measure with nail polish, fake nails, or excessively long fingernails.
- Since dark-skinned people have a stronger ability to absorb infrared rays, it may take longer to measure.
- The ambient temperature will affect the measurement results. If the temperature of the tested finger is too low, please rub the finger to warm it up and measure again.
- Excessive ambient light (including fluorescent lamps, infrared heaters, direct sunlight, etc.) will affect the measurement results. Please cover appropriately or change the measurement environment.
- This item is for sports and aviation use only, not for medical use.
Battery Installation
The oximeter requires two AAA batteries.
- Press the button down on the back panel of the oximeter and push the battery cover horizontally along the arrow.
- Install the two AAA batteries into the battery compartment, observing correct polarities (+ and -).
- Close the battery cover.
Notes:
- Pay attention to the correct polarity terminals of the battery, which are marked with plus (+) and minus (-) signs. Do not install the battery in the wrong direction.
- Please remove the battery if the oximeter will not be used for a long time.
Operation Instructions
- Install two AAA batteries correctly according to the positive (+) and negative (-) marks on the battery compartment.
- Gently pinch the oximeter. Insert one finger into the rubber hole of the oximeter before releasing the oximeter. Your nail surface must be upward.
- Press the function button once on the front panel.
- Keep your finger and body still when measuring; do not tremble during. This helps avoid measurement failures.
Display Explanation
The device display shows the following information:
- ① Electricity: Battery level indicator.
- ② Pulse Intensity Histogram: A bar graph representing pulse strength.
- ③ SpO2 Plethysmogram: A waveform showing blood oxygen saturation variation.
- ④ SpO2 Reading: Displays the measured blood oxygen saturation percentage.
- ⑤ PI Reading: Displays the Perfusion Index.
- ⑥ Pulse Rate Reading: Displays the measured pulse rate in beats per minute (bpm).
Note: Why does the reading always change? The pulse oximeter measures data in real time. Since the body changes dynamically, the results also change over time. Please use it with confidence.
Safety Information
- Explosion Hazard: Do not use the oximeter in the presence of flammable anesthetic mixture with air, oxygen, or hydrogen.
- When the oximeter is in use, there should not be any high-power appliances nearby, such as high voltage cables, X-ray machines, ultrasound equipment, and electrizers.
- Keep the oximeter away from dust, vibration, corrosive substances, explosive materials, high temperature, and moisture.
- The oximeter should be handled with care to avoid shocks and falls.
- Please do not use pointed objects like a pen point or nails for pressing operations, otherwise, it might cause permanent damage to the surface of the keyboard.
- To ensure accurate performance and prevent device failure, do not expose the oximeter to extreme moisture, such as direct exposure to rain. Such exposure may cause inaccurate performance or device failure.
- Please do not open the enclosure. The enclosure shall only be opened by an authorized person.
- Follow local ordinances and recycling instructions regarding the disposal or recycling of the device and its components, including batteries.
