The Erica Synths Pico Envelope Follower features a preamp with +40dB gain, enough to boost even guitar AND DYNAMIC MICROPHONE signals for use in a modular system, which also can serve as nice overdrive effect, envelope output with adjustable attack time and a gate output with adjustable threshold. The Pico E.F. will be useful as a preamp, overdrive unit, for controlling VCFs in a beat with a drum track to create the acid basslines, to synchronize a modular system to the external instruments, and for other creative and experimental applications. Options are Fast, Slow and Medium. Select the Slow option, if you are controlling the VCF cutoff frequency to design an acid bassline in beat with a kick drum. GAIN TRSHLD Set the threshold of the Gate extractor circuit. It is a voltage above which the audio signal will trigger the gate see the diagram below! Please note, that, depending on the threshold setting, a same waveform can output various gates F S M ATTACK This is the audio input. Depending on the gain setting, you can use various input signals modular, guitar, dynamic microphone, various sensors, etc. IN This is the audio output This is the gate output. The red LED indicates that the gate is on. By adjusting the threshold potentiometer, you can achieve distinct, rhythmic gates to control other modules in your rack OUT ENV This is the envelope output. The envelope is boosted to +10V level, so you can use it to open VCAs without need to amplify it. The green LED indicates the envelope status GATE PICO GATE - HIGH TRESHOLD ON ON ON ON ON GATE - LOW TRESHOLD Safety Instructions Please follow the instructions for use of the Erica Synths module below, `cause only this will guarantee proper operation of the module and ensure warranty from Erica Synths. Water is lethal for most of the electric devices, unless they are made waterproof. This Erica Synths module is NOT intended for use in a humid or wet environment. No liquids or other conducting substances must get into the module. Should this happen, the module should be disconnected from mains power immediately, dried, examined and cleaned by a qualified technician. Do not expose the module to temperatures above +50° C or below -20° C. If you have transported module in extreme low temperatures, leave it in room temperature for an hour before plugging it in. Transport the instrument carefully, never let it drop or fall over. Warranty does not apply to modules with visual damages. The module has to be shipped in the original packaging only. Any module shipped to us for return, exchange and/or warranty repair has to be in its original packaging. All other deliveries will be rejected and returned to you. Make sure you keep the original packaging and technical documentation. This device complies to the EU guidelines and is manufactured RoHS conforming without use of led, mercury, cadmium and chrome. Nevertheless, this device is special waste and disposal in household waste is not recommended.
